I'm so excited about my stay at CR in just over 2 weeks!
Found out yesterday that my Mom (and traveling partner) upgraded us from a Garden Wing room to the tower....with a Theme Park View!!!!

I really can't wait now!

Get your TA to check now, we've already booked directly with Disney for a stay from 2nd - 5th January 2013, we're staying there after we check out from our Christmas stay at BLT

You can book room only now (499 days out), which will be quoted at the highest rate for 2012 and then adjusted once the 2013 rates are released (which should be sometime this summer). You will have to call to do this as you can't book online until the new rates are released. The required deposit will be 1 night's room rate + tax. If you are wanting to book a package, you will have to wait until the 2013 rates come out.

We are heading back to CR! We had an amazing stay last August on the Atrium Club floor that we had to come back We are booked into the Garden Wing this time though and I hope we are not disappointed. We had the most beautiful view of the MK from our room (2 from the lounge) but it is SO expensive for this trip we just cannot see spending an extra $300 a night for the view. Tell me it will be OK!

Since you've also stayed at the Poly, how would you say the room size is in comparison to the rooms at the Poly? I always assumed the monorail resort rooms were pretty close in size. Are they pretty comparable or are the CR rooms bigger?

The Poly and CR rooms are both about 440 SF, but unlike the Poly, all the CR bathrooms have double sinks and a toilet with a pocket door which is separate from the bath and sink area. And, of course, all the CR rooms have balconies, so in my mind, they feel a bit larger than the Poly rooms.

It did help, thank you . I actually took the plunge last night and booked CR TPV . I am wondering, though, if there will be anything special going on as we will be there over New Years. We've been a couple of times right before Christmas and have taken advantage of MVMCP, but are there any special things for New Years other than fireworks on 12/30 & 12/31? Any other suggestions for a CR newbie would be appreciated .

During MVMCP and the week of Christmas and New Years, channel 20 in your room will be playing the Holiday Wishes music when those fireworks are happening at the Magic Kingdom.

Their Garden Wing rooms have the exact design as their Tower rooms, plus you will get to avoid hearing any noises on the 4th floor like the music from Chef Mickey's if you got a room in their area.

Thanks for the room info . As much as we love the Poly, I do wish all of the bathrooms came with 2 sinks. The sinks in the CR bathrooms look pretty shallow, but I'm sure it won't be a problem. Glad to hear the rooms are about the same size as at the Poly. We don't need the extra room since it's just 4 of us, but it is nice to have the extra space with 2 growing teenagers .

I am still a little shocked that I booked yesterday, but I am getting excited....not only to try the CR, but to be there over New Years.....should be an exciting trip . I added a new ticker because our July trip is still a maybe and I'm hoping it will be a go, so I thought I'd keep the ticker just in case . But I had to get the new one up .

This is great info....thanks . I still can't get into the decor of the CR, but I am getting more and more excited to give it a try. I can't wait to watch the fireworks from our balcony as I'm sure it's amazing .

Right now we are booked at the GF. I really wanted the Contemporary. We have never stayed there and the walking to the MK seems fantastic. We are going Oct 15 -19. The Contemporary is completely booked. Does anyone know what is going on then? There is availability in a lot of other places so I have been wondering and wondering. You all seemed like a good place to start.

The CR rooms get filled quickly because conventions block out many rooms. I don't know what convention is meeting during your birthday, but don't give-up. People cancel all the time, especially when it gets close to the 45-day date for canceling a package and also the 5-day date for canceling a room-only reservation, without penalty.

Also, if you're using a pin or discount, perhaps the rooms are only sold out using your pin? Are there rack rate rooms available?

Since you just mentioned they are also sold out under the rack rate then I am going to assume the reason you can't get a room is because of a convention. With pin codes or any discounts only a certin amount of rooms are available. However since October 2012 is a long time from now when the rack rates are sold out then it has to be a convention which is why.

Also know that convetion-goers may not need all the CR rooms that have been blocked off, so as the convention gets closer they could release some rooms from the block to the public. I hope you find the room you're looking for, CR is amazing!
