Does anyone have pictures of the Garden Wing - Garden View rooms and the patios on the 1st floor? Thanks!!

We're planning our trip family trip to WDW for October 2012 and am hoping to stay at BLT - 2 bedroom suite for 6 of us. Are they difficult to get? We're hoping to book about 499 days in advance!

Oh....another quick question. If we book the suite and order tickets and dining at the same time and then I receive a 40% off room rate, can it still be used even though we've booked a package? Still working all this out in my head!

TIA!
Sarah

If you are switching from the Dining Plan to a room only discount you need to cancel whatever reservation you would have already made, because you can't transfer from a package deal to a room only reservation.

Thanks so much for the clarification.

Can you please tell me what most people do? I just registered with Disney in Jan and have already received 2 pins that we can't use (we're not going until 2012). I would love to receive another 40% off pin code (even though I know it's not guaranteed). I think it would be a better savings for us to get 40% off the room instead of free dining.

Thanks!

That's not true. We switched from the free dining offer to a room discount (in a completely different hotel) and the only thing that changed was the price. We kept our same reservation number. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but I think we did exactly what the poster you quoted is intending to do.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm just curious if I book a package and then later receive a pin number/discount code, if it can be applied to just the room portion of the reservation. I would hate to lose the reservation on BLT - it's really the only place we want to stay on the whole WDW grounds!

I'm sure someone can explain it better than I, but Disney designates a certain amount of rooms that a pin can be used on. So yes, as long as there are rooms left, your reservation can be changed to apply the code. You won't lose your reservation if you can't use the code. You'll just pay more.

In our case I had us booked at Beach Club Villas. When I got the pin I called in but there was nothing availabe at BCV on our dates. There were, however, rooms at BLT so we switched.

I hope that helps and doesn't confuse you more. It's kind of complicated but you've got time to get it all figured out. :goodvibes

Technically, the Room-only and the Packages are in two different systems. Your reservation # will remain the same, but it's like having a whole new reservation. In effect, you are canceling and re-booking, whether you go from a package to a room-only, or room-only to a package.

If a PIN or other discount comes out and you want to change your reservation,it will depend on availability. Each deal has a certain (unknown) number of deals available at each resort and in each room category at each resort. My recommendation is to book the room category at the resort you most want. If you get a PIN or other discounts become available, call and see if your preferred room type/resort are available. If so, then switch (it's easy, I've done it several times). If not, then you will have your preferred resort. If it's worth it to you, then you can always switch to another room type or resort that has deals available. Clear as mud? lol

For example--last year I really wanted to stay Poly CL for my birthday trip. I booked about 10 months in advance. When a discount became avaiable, I called right away as soon as I heard. Fortunately, I was able to save 40%! I got lucky. However, if Ply CL hadn't been available, I still had my dream room. (Although I would probably have switched for a 40%, but....)

Well, today the Disney Blog answered my question about the Wave breakfast buffet :thumbsup2 Passing it on for anyone who hasn't seen it:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl.../?CMP=SOC-DPFY11Q2Twitter3.10.1110-03-11@0002

Thanks for the link. I'm planning one ADR for Chef Mickey's on the first morning of our September trip. I'd like to try the Wave at least once also. Can anyone comment on the walk-up situation (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during September? (i.e., do we need an ADR?)

Thanks,

Martin

Here is another example. In August 2009 we had originally reserved the Atrium Club - Magic Kingdom View as a room only reservation. However when we switched to the 4/3 deal we needed to take the Atrium Club - Bay Lake View because that was the only way to stay Club Level at the Contemporary with that package. So our original reservation was then cancelled and re-booked with the 4/3 deal, then at the 45 day mark we paid the remaining deposit and etc. Plus just because we had room only reservation prior to that meant nothing, because our original room category wasn't available with the 4/3 deal and why they can't transfer a room only to a package deal and the other way around.

Great picture!! Just curious...were the colors enhanced or was that really the 'true' picture? If I could be guaranteed that specific room, I would have never switched to the Tower...y'all had a terrific location and view. Don't want to take any chances and get stuck on the 2nd or 3rd floor without a balcony:scared1:

There is a kids club at CR, right? I searched this thread and couldn't find anything about it! Whats it like? Is it scheduled activities? Do you need to reserve a spot in advance?
