and we loved it!!!!:love::love::love::love::love:

The resort is fantastic. The transportation is hands down the best!!! The fact we could walkt to MK and take the monorail to Epcot was awesome.

The Garden wing was so quiet!!

Now I have stayed at all level of resorts and I am a person that equates value for what I pay. This resort is worth every penny.

We are putting a deposit down for the same time next year!!!!

A big thanks to all who answered every question!!!
It's great to heat that you enjoyed staying there. :thumbsup2

So glad to hear it! We are doing our first stay at CR in May, also in Garden Wing. Nice to hear comments about the GW; sometimes it seems we're the only ones on this thread not staying in the tower ;)

How was the walk to and from the GW and the main building? Did you like your view/location?

The walk was less than 10 mins!!!! Really it was wonderful and relaxing at night to stroll back not concerned I was going to miss a bus!!!

We had a partial lake and garden view and did get to see the Electrical parade from the room. I am going to book the garen wing again for next year as well.

When you say that the walk was less than 10 minutes, might you have meant to/from the CR and the MK? branv was asking about the walk to/from the GW and the Tower which is actually just about a couple of minutes. I don't want anyone to get confused.

this resort has always been my dream to stay at. Hopefully if everything goes right i will be getting to stay there in 2012 with my sister.. hopefully.. so any and all information willing to share would be greatly appricated... and yes its far away, but i like planning ahead and having things taken care of early so i dont have to worry about it later on.

Special New Year's Eve Dining:

Many Walt Disney World restaurants will feature special menus during the holidays, and for New Year's Eve in particular. Here are several special New Year's Eve dining experiences that we have details on. (Call 1-407-WDW-DINE for details or to make reservations, unless otherwise noted.)

-- The California Grill at the Contemporary Resort will host an elegant and festive event with a variety of food, beverages, and fireworks. Entertainment scheduled: casino-style games, characters, and live entertainment throughout the evening. This is a dine-around style event with food stations set up throughout the restaurant. A complimentary bar is available, in addition to wine poured by the glass up until midnight. This a semi-formal occasion -- dress accordingly. Cost: $525 per person, tax and gratuity included.

Thank you for posting that information.

You're welcome.

Are you packed yet? It sure is cold in FL:cold:
We actually left yesterday and spent the night in Lexington, Kentucky. Tonight were staying in Cleveland, Tennessee and tomorrow were staying in Valdosta, Georgia before getting to WDW. We like to take our time driving down and doing that we don't arrive at WDW late in the evening. Plus on Thursday when we get there it's supposed to be getting warmer for the weekend, although then next week it will be cold again.

Well, that answers my question about you being packed:laughing:

Since you're coming from way up north, even a cold FL will seem warm to you.

I hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly. Have fun at the pin trading at the CR.

It feels a bit weird posting this but tomorrow my family and I will be back at WDW, however it will be our 1st time not staying at the Contemporary since December 2007, since were staying for a 2nd time at the Boardwalk Inn. Although I will be going to the Contemporary for Pin Trading on Dec 17 and we plan to visit there a few times and so we can eat at the Contempo Cafe. So I will talk to you all when I am home on Christmas Day.
