Does anyone know about the best prices for Bay Lake Tower? I've found £222/$360 per night, is that as good as I think it sounds?
Since I don't know what room category that is for, I will tell you that as a general rule, for a cash reservation, not renting points from a DVC owner, the best most recent rack rate discount I have seen was last years' 42% off for Passholders. I have also more frequently seen and used the 40% off discount. So if the rate you are quoting is 40% off of the rack rate, then that's a good deal.

Hi everyone.

I'm only 7 days away from arriving at the CR and I'm so excited! I've been looking at pool pictures and trying to remember from the last time I was there but is there a kiddie pool? I have a 20 month old who LOVES water!

I'm a little concerned about crowds (I looked today and no rooms available at any Deluxe - I was hoping to upgrade my Garden room to a Tower room) but oh well, hopefully it won't be terrible.

Thanks for any info on the pool area!
There is a water feature area, but no kiddie pool.

Have a great vacation! It's worth asking at check-in about paying to upgrade to the Tower.

Technically they don't have a kids pool, however there is a smaller quiet pool located behind the Cabanas right by Bay Lake. Plus they also have the kids splash play area which your child would like.

As for the crowds I would say not to worry about them that much because at least you have a Garden Wing reservation and those sell out fast since they are the least expensive room category among the Monorail Resorts. Besides that it's only a 5 minute walk or less to the Tower depending on where your room is located and their rooms are designed exactly like the ones in the Tower.

Thanks for the info. My son will love the splash area - hopefully he doesn't want to jump in the pool :rotfl::confused3

Quick question about the Garden Wing - I've never been, only in tower room - but is there like a "covered" path between the Tower and the rooms just in case it rains?

Thanks.

You're welcome and yes there is a covered walkway when going from the Garden Wing to the Tower.

Hi all!!! Just got back from a wonderful stay at the CR!!! :cool1: Checked in last Saturday (just DH and myself). Booked a MKV tower room, but tried to upgrade to the 12th floor. They actually had a Bay Lake view available (with an annual pass discount), but because we're sooo in love with the MKV we opted for just a regular tower room. GOT A ROOM ON THE 11TH FLOOR - WOOT WOOT!! Room #4745!!

Oh what a view!! Went to bed watching the Castle, and awoke to it every morning!! We are BLT owners, and haven't stayed at the CR since 2008, but oh did it bring back memories!!! We LOVED it!! We had forgotten how convenient it was to just "ride up the elevator to our room". If we ever get a chance to get away alone again we will definitely stay with our all time favorite for sure!!

Weather was WARM!! Did what we always do....parks in the morning, resort pool in the afternoon. Parks seemed busy when we were heading out, but not crazy. We took advantage of short lines in the evenings. Did HS on Wednesday around noon. About a 20 min wait on RnR, and about 10 minutes on ToT!! Was going to do TSM but listed time was about an hour.

This was more of a leisurely trip for us. Enjoyed our time mostly around the resort. The monorail did break down alot. Was reminded by a CM that "they're 20 years old....they're bound to break down at this point". On our trip down last month they broke down quite often.

Already planning next year's trip (hoping for a GV MKV at the BLT). Will need some SERIOUS pixie dust for that!! LOL!!

Will be happy to answer any questions!! :thumbsup2

I am getting nervous, and need someone (or a group of you :) ) to calm me down.

We are heading on our first trip home (BLT) in a couple of months. We are sooo used to staying value only, we have grown accustomed to the small rooms. However when we took the tour DH feel in love with the concept of 1 and or 2 bedrooms. More space, Contemporary is our style but we can compromise when we need to.

The delema (sp): We are staying in a Lakeview Studio, I requested to be on the inner circle (facing the pool) in the centre of the tower, 8th floor or higher... I love the views from this area. My hubby is a nature geek so he'll have the lake view, I just hope the room we are ultimately assigned to doesn't show too much wear and tear, and at least feels a little more accomodating than the value rooms.AND most of all I can walk around the Pop Century resort with my eyes closed I know the routine there...I have never been to BLT and have been to Chef Mickey's twice but we never really toured the resort...how will I find everything....crazy I know...pretrip jitters get them everytime.

Thanks for letting me vent

Well with the exception of your room and the Bay Lake Tower pool you will do more touring around the Contemporary since that's where all the stores, restaurants, valet service, bell service and transportation options are located. Plus you will also check-in at the Contemporary lobby and use their Lobby Concierge desk for tickets and etc. So I think it will be easier to navigate around Bay Lake Tower and you will want to get use to walking around the Contemporary.

I didn't read through all 200+ pages of this thread, so my question may have been answered... sorry if that's the case. What I'm wondering is where the walkway from BLT to CR is in relation to the room numbers? I'd like to get a room close to the walkway and CR, and that's what I'll put as my room request, but I'm just wondering, as I look at the room maps, where will that put me? Thanks!

From what I know the skybridge is located located on the 5th floor of Bay Lake Tower, however I am not sure what specifc side it is.

Yep, that much I know, as well as it's on the south side... I'm just wondering what the room numbers are nearest it. thanks :)

Rooms ending in xx29 and xx30 (2 Bdr dedicated)
xx32 and xx35 (1 Bdr lockoff)
xx34 and xx37 (Studios)

Hope this helps!! Essentially, you want to be as close to the south elevator bank as possible.
