Me a 38 year old Disney lover. My DH and most of the people I work with think I have some kind of illness. I do actually I have been diagnosed several times with Disney Fever. It all started when my uncle (who happened to be one of my favorite people in the world) went to Walt Disney World in the mid-70s and returned bringing me a stuffed Minnie Mouse (extra large) and sharing countless stories of a magical place with characters, rides, and the most awesome fireworks you could ever see. Needless to say I was fascinated and began dreaming of this magical place I had never seen. My parents took me when I was 6 years old and even though I never got to see my heroine, Minnie Mouse, I was hooked!
DH just turned 38 while on our trip to the world. He is somewhat patient with my wanting to go to WDW at least once a year (or more), but really wishes I would pick another location for a vacation. He enjoys the water parks and as long as were happy then hes happy (or thats what he says).
DS Moose, 13 years old, starting to outgrow some things (sniff sniff..) but still pretty patient with getting pics and autographs with the characters as long as I dont post them on his fb page. Loves the 3 mountains and Kali River Rapids. Got the name Moose because of the loud noises he makes when he is playing with his sister...
DD Skip Jr. (or so she would be named during our trip), 9 years old, still likes the princesses but not as much as when younger, loves riding Space Mountain, Soarin, and Test Track. Loves to see me smile when she mentions anything Disney
The Trip: We purchased annual passes in October 2009 because we knew we were going on a cruise in March and would come back to Disney so just made more sense to get the annual passes. We actually got the premium annual passes so the boys could enjoy the water parks to their hearts content. As it turned out we also went in December 2009 and again for this trip which spanned May 27-June 5. Might as well get all the use out of those passes that we can did I mention they dont expire until October 2010??? Oh well anyway back to my TR.
Resort: We stayed at POR. Weve stayed here before but never in Magnolia Bend. Personally Alligator Bayou is my favorite, but I like the outdoors woodsy feel it offers. I am more of a Little House on the Prairie kind of girl instead of Gone With the Wind. Anyway we got Magnolia Bend and thought wed give it a try.
