OOOOOOOOOOOOOO another piece of the TR! woot!
When we took the kids a couple of years ago, I packed everything for them. And i thought for me. Let me list the things i forgot for me.
1.toothbrush($3.95 i believe):rolleyes1
2.hairdryer(used my daughters, with her protest)
3.my belt. (that was my "thinner time") "I" hold up my pants now.:rotfl:
4. And ALL MY UNDERWEAR,:scared1: except the 3 pair i put in my carryon in case luggage was lost. I even remember where i had it folded to go into the suitcase.
5. oh and 1 of a pair of shoes.:cutie:but i brought plenty of others. (flipflop fool that i am!)

Kids were all set tho...:lmao:

KIM

So............ did you wash them all in the resort laundromat?? or did you buy new ones?? or just use the sink? I am a cheapskate to the core of my being so I would probably use the sink.

I take it you were in a value?? We had a dryer in both POR and the POLY. Can't remember about the POP, though?

We had my FIL get the tix from our house and my mom over nighted them to us. But I also called Undercover Tourist (where we bought the tickets from) and they were able to reissue them to us at the park. I wouldn't of had our parents go though all this but it happened on a Saturday and when I called, UT wasn't open until Monday (and the shipped tix wouldn't arrive till Monday either). We weren't going to a park till Monday and I thought if worse came to worse, we could just go to DTD in the am and wait for our tickets to arrive on Monday afternoon then hit the park.

It all worked out though. :goodvibes
I'm glad it all worked out, I would be freaking!

stayed in an allstar suites. used the sink mostly, but did do some laundry twice. almost always while wearing the bathing suit, so i could do all the pairs at once.:rotfl:

I am not only a cheap person, but that is vauable "park, family, playing" time that it would have taken to drive to a reasonable store.
My sister and her family were there with us. so i borrowed some from her too..;)

I am so wiht you!! I HAD to do laundry once, but only because I just couldn't fit enough clothes in for 12 days.

I'd borrow before spending what Disney must charge for undies too! ;)

I love the pen! I think it is great that you enjoyed these "quiet" moments so much, I think this is definitely one of the positive things about a solo trip!

I'm sure Maroo was happy you sprang for a $50 toothbrush! ;)

Cute pen! I've been seeing alot of those around lately - if you got one at Disney, they must be a must have:thumbsup2

Do they even sell undies? Has anyone seen them? For us big girls.(adults)
Are they under the counter with the ponchos, just waiting for a frantic guest?:rotfl2:

I'm behind, but just wanted to comment on the latest update.

Those kookie pens are so cute, first of all. I mean, who wouldn't love a Mickey one? Perhaps something I should put on my souvie list, it's just plain fun!

I know I always get to a point in my packing before the trip where I say to myself, if you forgot something, you can buy it down there. And then I always think, at what cost? :lmao: Sorry you had to go for the $50 toothbrush, but glad to see you take dental hygiene seriously. ;) "You shouldn't neglect your gums!" Name that movie.

Anyway, I digress. I'm rambly this morning, comes from waking up at 545 with the baby.

I LOVE the shrimp lo mein at Pop. I got that once and couldn't believe how much food they gave me, there was no way I could finish it, but it was OH so goooooood. Glad you enjoyed it too and that there was no side of ecoli with your lunch. :scared1:

Marv... you have me rolling over here!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:
You'd think I would save this really good stuff for my own TR.....:rolleyes1
LiesaDay1072-1.jpg

I am generally a rule follower, so I quickly put my shirt back on, and headed to Classic Hall for some very important items- the greatest of which was lunch! I was ravishing… I mean, I was ravenous.
Well, with your freshly shaved feet and painted toes, ravishing may have been correct! ;)
Well, with my “cute” feet, I was both. Eh-hem, moving on.
Dangit, beat me to it!!! :lmao:
I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

Right there on the bathroom counter at home, where you KNOW you’ve left YOURS too. At some point during your lifetime. On some important trip.

Maybe even to Disney World.
Nevaaahhhhh! Only thing worse than that would be forgetting your tickets you pre-paid and had shipped to you! :sad2:
While I happily munched away on my Chinese Culinary Concoction, I did something that would become a wonderfully relaxing habit during my trip. I stopped and wrote down many of my thoughts, tidbits about my day, things I had seen and done, and just took in the sights wherever I was. Whenever I took the time to stop, drop and write I became refreshed in body and spirit, and was so well worth the time!
I never waste any of my time making trip notes while I am at Disney. Gives me more time to do more stuff I can forget I did when I finally get around to my TR!
I headed out to the busses, and noticed along the way that Disney Cast Members are ready to bend over backwards to make my vacation the best one ever!
I don't think I even want to KNOW what he is having to do in that picture!!!
Kookie pens are THE BOMB!! I love how goofy and and well... kookie they are!! I guess they make me regress to about age 2 and a half, because I take great pleasure in shaking their fringy heads!
Regress??? :confused3
She's a lovely young lady- and her daddy has a .44.
There's an obvious comment about her mommy in there, but I think I better let that one go....... :rolleyes1
I was on the plane about to taxi to the runway when I realized that I had left the tickets home. The horror set in for a second then I had to lean over and tell my wife what I did.
Ooooops! forget what I said above Tim..... :rotfl2:

DW forgot our tickets once! She didn't think so at first, but I was very convincing......... ;)

Do they even sell undies? Has anyone seen them? For us big girls.(adults)
Are they under the counter with the ponchos, just waiting for a frantic guest?:rotfl2:

I wondered the same thing. Just in case, I ever had unlimited funds and found myself in Disney World with no extra clothes. Or the Airlines lost everything I had which is a more likely scenario. :rolleyes1

I found Adult undies in DHS in the shops on the right as you go down Sunset Blvd.

By the way that was the ONLY place I saw them. Somewhere I have a picture of them too. In the package of course. :rolleyes1 I did not have to buy them.

Plenty of Mens undies too. In various places.

The Ball... we go on Thursdays when we can to English country Dancing lessons-, but every 2 months they host a formal ball- each with a different theme, but the same style of dancing. English Country Dancing- think Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. We really like it, and it's something we all really enjoy. I mean who doesn't like to play dress up??

Oh! I would adore that! Does the whole family to, I take it?

Now that gave me a good chuckle! :lmao:

So no Disney toothbrushes for sale, only boring ones? I remember Pop having one of the best shops of any of the resorts I've stayed at. But I don't remember if they had underwear. I know I've seen women's undies on property somewhere - but they weren't what I'd wear. More suited for Juniors I think. Or women with no hips - you know what I mean, those boy-cut types? Cute, but they don't work on me.:confused3

The shrimp lomein looks yummy!!! :) I am not a fan of undercooked shrimp either. Glad you sent it back! Cute kooky pen. I've never purchased any. Are they pretty short compared to a standard pen? Still pretty easy to write with though?

Ok with all of the talk about undies, and toothbrushes I have to admit something. I am a horrible sock and undies hoarder! We buy socks here like they are disposable! I swear I buy socks once a month. As for the undies, I am so paranoid about packing for a trip and not having any, I buy those packaged sets and keep them in suitcases all the time! At least if I forget to pack them all we have to do is break into the packs and wash them up and viola........we got undies for the family!

Buying new underwear is usually the first part of my trip packing. I will buy a new package for everyone and throw them in the suitcase - then I can feel like I have started packing even if the trip is a month (or more:rolleyes1) away - and nobody is inconvenienced at home in the underwear department....;)

Well, in the gift shop in CR they hang on a display. And they are expensive $10 for one pair. I know this because we were caught in the great monsoon of '09. We in a rainstorm while we were back by BTMRR and had to get to the CR for a ressie at Chef Mickey. WE WERE SOAKED! Down to everything, I told the girls I would buy them some pants because the ac made it freezing inside. Well $110 later for three pairs of pj bottoms I told them they could go commando. DD#3 said she would use her own money before going commando and actually paid the $10 for the undies. Oh, and she wears adult sizes, since she's 5" taller than me. :headache:

I always buy new socks. That's probably because the girls are always taking my socks and in order to start packing I have to buy more!:rotfl:

I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

Goodness gracious great balls of fire! Well, I'm glad the $50 toothbrush worked out ok. But you know, your finger is really just fine as a substitute.

...or so I hear. Ahem. :rolleyes1

Remember that- for there will be another MORONIC MOMENT concerning all things MUG.

Oooh! I love these! popcorn::

I worried about the top bit of noodle that might have been contaminated by the deadly bacteria, but that quickly vanished when she threw on about a half a dozen extras because of my long wait, and near death experience.

It may be a Chinese dish, but making up for quality with quantity is distinctly American! :thumbsup2

U-S-A! U-S-A!

I headed out to the busses, and noticed along the way that Disney Cast Members are ready to bend over backwards to make my vacation the best one ever!

Are you sure he's not laying down on the job? :confused3

That stinks!

Good call. No sense in seeing the inside of Disney security.

Shopping Liesa said:

And this is my first tribute purchase…. To the one, the ONLY, the GREATEST BISCUIT!
I’m all choked up inside now.

Kookied Liesa said:

Ever since he posted about his incessant (but VERY fun solo) search of a Kookie pen, I knew I needed one.
Well, technically it was a quest for an elusive green Kooky lanyard.

Shrimp Chow Mein!! I had heard that this was a phenomenal meal, and couldn’t wait to try it.
I have to admit I was a bit concerned by this. Although I had the same dish as my inaugural Disney meal, I didn’t care for the flavor. Too much sesame oil. Hopefuly they have improved.

Since your munching was of a happy disposition, I’m assuming the flavor was nifty.

This was an excellent endeavor from which we are all grateful to benefit.

That would be the MOST horrible nightmare ever. Even worse than being within 50 yards of GB after WCC!
Or worse yet, Crystal Palace when they have cabbage on the menu. Although I will say that it was my post WCC extended visit to the Wilderness Lodge “necessary” that gave the girls time to browse and then purchase their original Kooky pens at the Mercantile to begin with. (Thus setting up the marathon dash to obtain a second lanyard.)

Great update Liesa!

I love the pen! I think it is great that you enjoyed these "quiet" moments so much, I think this is definitely one of the positive things about a solo trip!

I would do solo again in a minute! I really enjoyed being on my own time, listening to my heart as to when to stop and eat, or just stop for the sake of stopping, and do nothing at all. Except maybe change a bandaid....:rolleyes1

I'm sure Maroo was happy you sprang for a $50 toothbrush! ;)

Well, technically I think the toothbrush was only like $4.95, but that was my first case of sticker shock on property.

They had quite an assortment, and the best prices I found were at the discount place at DTD- that place that named something like $10 bucks and under. Lots of Toy Story characters.

Do they even sell undies? Has anyone seen them? For us big girls.(adults)
Are they under the counter with the ponchos, just waiting for a frantic guest?:rotfl2:

Yes, they do, but I didn't go alookin'. I think others have answered your question... but I admit, I'd be one of those "frantic ones". Commando is one thing- commando after Splash is quite another. :scared1:

Fun is what it's all about! Don't mess with my fun!! :lmao:

I am stuck on that movie!! but I'm sure Glennbo, the Supreme Movie Quoter Extraordinaire (or whatever his illustrious title names him) can do it! He even got useless points for naming movies.... :rolleyes1

Rambling is perfectly acceptable on this thread... there's a lot of that here. Mostly by your loquacious hostess.....;):rolleyes1

OOps! I called it chow mein- when in fact, it's lo mein- as opposed to high mein. And I agree, it was WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too much. This would have been a perfect meal for LeeAnn and I to split. Which is a subject I will shortly (yeah, right) tackle as soon as she and I get on our eating roll. I knew I'd have an issue with portion sizes- sure enough, it came up.

Ecoli comes in bad, worse, and deadly. I'm glad they didn't give me any of those choices.
