So this group is better for us beginners. Plus it has a LOT of younger youth aged folks, so my girls aren't dancing with older men.

Hmmm, so have they met any interesting boys?

It was. I wonder what color it was?? I may have a picture of it, coming up for a later installment. Hmmm...???

I'll guess blue. That's what I'd have picked.

Me neither. Ewwwwwwwww!! I wonder if they taste like chicken?

They do, but their wings are so tiny, there's just no meat on them ;)

I am way behind on my comments....

My first thought when I read about the "Liesa greeting" was that all these fountains in Nuremberg must really have corrupted you! :scared1:;)

When I saw your update, I just had a brief look at it and this sentence immediately caught my eye:

I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

And then the next thing I see is this:

LiesaDay1073.jpg

And my first thought was: What strange toothbrushes these Americans have!! :scared1::lmao:

I am glad that you got you avoided any food poisoning! That would not have made for a very entertainig TR and I think you already had your fair share of sick people in this TR already...

I'm a little concerned you two are so well versed on "Pretty Woman" quotes! What's next, trying to wear matching clothes at an out of the way rendezvous to share a cheesecake??? :confused3

Dang it, someone guessed the quote right and I missed it.

Help me keep up with the chatter...help me......... LOL!!!

I'm a little concerned you two are so well versed on "Pretty Woman" quotes! What's next, trying to wear matching clothes at an out of the way rendezvous to share a cheesecake??? :confused3

They would NEVER do that, would they??? :scared1:

:lmao:

I knew it was a stretch- but why not a beer bread McMuffin? Made with a smoked cheese and a bit of dill? They don't have to taste like crap every time.

I like the way you think...I thinking on a sourdough round though at this point, get rid of the muffin.

Your return sounds truly frightening!! :scared1::scared1: So glad your plane was even able to land. We got a bit of frozen rain, that gave the roads and cars a nice sheen, but all was gone by morning. Bummer no school opening delay. :headache:
Originally I thought the delay was a blessing, only to realize I had a 7:30 am conference call I'd forgotten about so there was a bit of initial scramble!

They are in McMinnville. From Portland about an hour, from Salem, a mere 20-25 minutes. I am so glad they are closer. Espcially for driving in the dark, rainy nights. which I don't do well at, at all. I'm sure Seattle has a Regency group. Portland does have one, but they don't "call" the dances or go through them before the music plays. So this group is better for us beginners. Plus it has a LOT of younger youth aged folks, so my girls aren't dancing with older men.

Nice! I know McMinnville.

They might have had one, had I asked; I guess i just assumed at a value they would refer me to the shop.

The pens aren't hard to hold at all. I suppose they might take a bit of getting used to, but it wasn't bad. They make me giggle, so it's worth it.

that is worth it. Always ask for free stuff, that's my motto!

I hope I don't get flamed for it. Really I feel so stupid now, looking back.
because we never do stupid things.

I"m not sure the lo mein is worth a trip all the way across the property for. It was good, but not an hour out of your time worth it.

They have lo mein at the Y&Y CS in AK. Just sayin.... It looks pretty identical.

I'm a little concerned you two are so well versed on "Pretty Woman" quotes! What's next, trying to wear matching clothes at an out of the way rendezvous to share a cheesecake??? :confused3

I find this highly offensive! The fact that you think I'd share my cheesecake, I mean. :rotfl2:

Ah, isn't solo WDW-time awesome?

I forgot my toothpaste on my last trip, which made me very happy to be solo. There were a few hours there when no one would have wanted to be talking to me, at least not too close! Dentyne Ice can only go so far!

I know everyone's commenting on the pen, but I have to say: What nice handwriting you have!

I also have to admit to a slight addiction to Disney socks and underwear. Maybe it's because I'm not so into overt Disney merchandise. If I buy their socks and underwear, I can be a Disney freak and nobody knows! :rotfl:

Plus every morning when I open my underwear drawer I get to think to myself: Do I want this to be a Disney day today? ;)

(And for the record, I'm pretty sure a 3-pack of ladies' hipsters at the resort gift shops is somewhere around $20. Not cheap, but not terrible.)

I'm a little concerned you two are so well versed on "Pretty Woman" quotes! What's next, trying to wear matching clothes at an out of the way rendezvous to share a cheesecake??? :confused3

I'm so glad you used the word "rendezvous".:rotfl2:

(And for the record, I'm pretty sure a 3-pack of ladies' hipsters at the resort gift shops is somewhere around $20. Not cheap, but not terrible.)

I thought a lady hipster was an old lady, like over 30  , who was up on all the texting lingo.

Buying new underwear is usually the first part of my trip packing. I will buy a new package for everyone and throw them in the suitcase - then I can feel like I have started packing even if the trip is a month (or more:rolleyes1) away - and nobody is inconvenienced at home in the underwear department....;)

OK - is it sad that I'm de-lurking to join the underwear conversation?:sad2:

I'm the opposite. I buy new underwear before a trip but wait to use it until after the trip. I take the old undies with me and throw it away each day, thus freeing valuable suitcase space for other items that may feel the need to travel to Texas!

No hurry! I need to call mary and tell her it's her turn for Letter C. I am dying to see where she's going to take it. She's so busy at work, I think she has little time to make comments. ????

Since we're waiting on Mary before moving on, can I back up and ask some questions that are really none of my business but I'm gonna ask anyway? :rolleyes1

I haven't been along since the beginning of this journey, but I think I did go back and get caught up once I joined in. That said, I did skim through pretty quickly (or as quickly as one can skim through such an epic journey ;)) I know that your return to the states was sooner than you anticipated. When had you planned on returning initially - or did you have an "end date" in mind yet?

How have the kids settled in to the return? I know you said your (middle???) daughter was taking it the hardest. Has she adjusted better now that it's been a little while?

When you were in Crap-istan you had commented on certain food items that you couldn't get there. I get that things wouldn't be available over there, but were there some things that family back home could not send to you. I know that perishables probably wouldn't travel well, but were there things that weren't "permitted" to be sent? Did incoming packages arrive to you intact or was there the possibility that they would arrive "slightly lighter" than when they were sent?

Yes, I know I am being nosey.....

I can't remember if I replied to your last update... it's impossible to keep up with everything!!! ARGH!

Okay, here goes:

Too bad you forgot your toothbrush! That's the worst! Definitely my worst nightmare.

The food looked yummy...that is once it was cooked properly. It's a good thing you checked the food before paying for it. I'll have to remember that next time I'm buying food and it's squirming on my plate after I've paid for it

Darn tootin'!

It's not what you think it'd be. If that makes sense at all. And if not, I'll get more cryptic. :lmao:

Ah, rambling in the wind we are...

No biggie! Lo mein, chow mein, it's all Chinese food! :thumbsup2 And it's all yummy as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, I'm with you on bad, worse, and deadly. Ick.

:lmao:

:confused3

:chat:

:cloud9:

Well, I tried 10 times to put a nice little puking smilie in here, but can't seem to get the code to work out... so imagine a cute smilie face spewing vomit to represent the deadly Ecoli I was almost poisoned with.

Yum! My Mom and I shared the shrimp lo-mein for lunch one day and it was great. Now please tell me that you tried the tye-dye cheesecake while you were at Pop.

I ate at POP a couple more times actually, but you'll have to wait to see what I got.... popcorn:: I can tell you that everything I got there was pretty decent fare. ;)

3 Days, 169 pages and I am all caught up on this TR!!!
:cool1::thumbsup2::banana::woohoo::yay::

Just in time for us to leave for WDW in 9 days! and

Though thanks to DH's iPad, I just may be able to log in from time to time.

The DC meet was great fun - wish we could have stayed for the afternoon and dinner but DD had school the next day.

Can't wait to hear Mary's C and to be able to comment away!

Hmmm, so have they met any interesting boys?

I'll guess blue. That's what I'd have picked.

They do, but their wings are so tiny, there's just no meat on them ;)

There are quite a few, and Bek has met one. But they are just friends at this point. They have about 10 years to wait- I hope they are patient. :lmao:

I probably still have it, but it's been relegated to cleaning the house.

:rotfl2: It'd take a bunch then, to make a nice stew.

Would anybody like a peanut?

I do so very love that movie!

Do you really mean it?

I'm not sure what you mean about "the Liesa greeting". Did I miss soemthing?? Or is this move completely driving me bonkers?

Our toothbrushes aren't so odd- as long as they hold gaggy mint paste- it's a toothbrush.

I am glad that you got you avoided any food poisoning! That would not have made for a very entertainig TR and I think you already had your fair share of sick people in this TR already...

We did have FAR more sickness that we ever wanted!! Thankfully, no one has been sick even in the slightest since coming back. :woohoo:

I'm a little concerned you two are so well versed on "Pretty Woman" quotes! What's next, trying to wear matching clothes at an out of the way rendezvous to share a cheesecake??? :confused3

I've never seen it; should I be worried?

Dang it, someone guessed the quote right and I missed it.

Help me keep up with the chatter...help me......... LOL!!!

It's soooo hard to keep up on everyone's chatter- ahhh, to have limitless time here on the DIS!

They would NEVER do that, would they??? :scared1:

:lmao:

I think they might.

I like the way you think...I thinking on a sourdough round though at this point, get rid of the muffin.

Yes!! I likey! And I can't believe I myself, didn't think of the mimosa!! Perfect with breakfast!

Originally I thought the delay was a blessing, only to realize I had a 7:30 am conference call I'd forgotten about so there was a bit of initial scramble!

I hate when something sneaks up on you like that! And the ensuing minor panic attack that follows!

Nice! I know McMinnville.

It is a microbrew haven with a ton of little bistros and pubs. Still has that old town America feel with mom and pop shops lining a tree lined Main Street. Kinda like something right out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

that is worth it. Always ask for free stuff, that's my motto!

Should have- live and learn.

because we never do stupid things.

Well, things sure changed last Sept. :lmao:

I find this highly offensive! The fact that you think I'd share my cheesecake, I mean. :rotfl2:

As long as you brought some home to MrsKnowItAll!!! That's kinda like sharing. I'm sure Glenn took care of his clan as well... You did, right??

Ah, isn't solo WDW-time awesome?

It only got better and better!! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I forgot my toothpaste on my last trip, which made me very happy to be solo. There were a few hours there when no one would have wanted to be talking to me, at least not too close! Dentyne Ice can only go so far!

So when those folks moved aaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll the way down.... you kinda guessed why. :lmao:

I know everyone's commenting on the pen, but I have to say: What nice handwriting you have!

Awww, thanks! Lefties often have very nice handwriting. Maybe because they are right-brained? I don't know- I do remember practicing a LOT when I was younger, just for fun. I know, I was an odd, nerdy kid.

I am not a big fan of "overt" Disney stuff either- that's why I was so excited about my "Around the World" shopping spree, and the things I found on my hunt.

And I love the idea of "having a Disney day" without others knowing it. :lmao: That would be the perfect solution for me since I live with the quintessential Disney hater.

I'm so glad you used the word "rendezvous".:rotfl2:

I thought a lady hipster was an old lady, like over 30  , who was up on all the texting lingo.

Over 30 is "OLD"??!! So what is over 40, Mister?

OK - is it sad that I'm de-lurking to join the underwear conversation?:sad2:

I'm the opposite. I buy new underwear before a trip but wait to use it until after the trip. I take the old undies with me and throw it away each day, thus freeing valuable suitcase space for other items that may feel the need to travel to Texas!

Not at all!! We have a variety of topics- some more interesting that others. :rotfl2:

And what a brilliant strategy!! I love it!! why didn't I think of that??
