The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

My post on FB from about 12:30 today:

"It was at first reported to us that it was OSU where 15 students were shot. I almost threw up and cried as I tried to call Michaela, then was relieved, but just as heartsick, to hear it was a community college just like mine. I am soooo sad that there are 15 moms and dads that won't get news that it wasn't their kids school."

Just heard about this a couple of minutes ago. So glad you and yours are okay.
Terrible news. What makes someone want to do these things?

Thank you all for the comments on the photos of our getaway. I had a really relaxing time doing our photo walks and am happy I came away with some nice ones.

Definitely stressed about my Exam on Wednesday- so much to have solid before then. So am intentionally trying to limit my time on here- my one true distraction that can suck a lot of time if I let it.

Thank you too for praying for Oregon and the families and friends of those murdered today. It has been an emotional and taxing time for all of us- from first responders to the community at large. Our own campus had a HUGE presence of security from noon on today in case another nutcase cracked and tried a copycat spree.

On the small bit of Disney news I can share, I am going to pick up a 4 hour flu shot clinic at work, and will also have approximately 8 hours of other misc. trainings I need to get through over the next few days. That should give me another $250 (take home) to put towards a payment on the resort. I have some things on eBay that I'd sure love to unload, so we'll see on those. I'll let you know when that happens. Some news is GREAT news, right? Also, we're quickly approaching a MAJOR countdown mark, aren't we?!?!

ETA: OK, I should be caught up on all the threads I have on my list... (I DEEPLY apologize to those who are posting here, but I am not on. I like to be a loyal follower when I do jump in, but I am barely keeping up with the ones I am on now.) I will probably be rather absent for another week or so, as Clinicals start at the Psychiatric Hospital (the VERY one that One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed at, and where I worked for 6 months before I started school- long story that I will share soon, it's actually really fascinating!!), Exam #1 is looming, and all that good stuff!!

I hear you. Oh, how I hear you.

Nice!

Cool! Would love to hear about it!

Ace it, babe.

I am so seldom on the Dis anymore !! I keep saying I will but then the BODY says BED and snuggle up in your blankies !!:cloud9: After Universal I will be done with trips so can concentrate more on the Dis , I am also gonna take more time off for me . :charac2: I deserve it and I sure as heck have enough TIME off:worship:

So glad you and Michaela are safe. I am right there with law enforcement not using his name. I really wish the media as a whole would not give any "glory " to shooters. So sad and for so many families.

Ace that test Liesa. We will be here when you have a bit of time- no rush.

I actually would like to see the media refer to these people in as negative a way as possible.
"Some loser opened fire today..." or similar.

Will be thinking of you Liesa!!

I also wanted to ask where you are with ticket purchases. I am not sure if you have heard that there was a nasty price increase on annual pass prices last Sunday. And there are rumors around that the normal tickets will be next. And that it will not just be a price increase, but something called "surge pricing", i.e. the more popular the day is you want to visit, the more you are paying. And I guess you can expect that this will not mean that prices will go down for less popular times! So, if there are funds, now might be a good time to get another ticket.

Whereas I would have liked to have invited you to a Dancing Banana Party, I must now extend a cordial welcome to my Pity Party.

Today did not go well. At all.

I walked out of the exam with a 72% (FAILING), but within a couple of hours I got 6 points back for reconsidered correct answers. So, I am now barely passing with a 78%.

It's going to be a long year.

Look at it this way. You passed.
Yes. It may not be where you wanted it to be, but you did pass.
I won't sugar coat it and say not to worry, blah, blah, blah.
You're going to have to dig deep and work even harder.
I think you can do it.
Here's a hug ... now get back in there and Kick Some Butt!!!

I thought 70% was still a C, but regardless, you passed which is better than what you thought this morning! Enjoy some wine with your pity party and then get back up tomorrow morning and hit the ground running. Speaking of wine, it's about time I go pour myself one!

Thanks for asking! I had heard rumors of the newest hikes, but didn't know (and still don't) any details. I actually have the 3 most important tickets I need- 3 8-day Hoppers. I had wanted to get Mike's ticket and probably can now, but my neighbor offered to give us one that might work. I don't know the details of it yet, like whether it's a Hopper, how many days it's good for, etc..., but do know it's a compled CM ticket that was given to them through one of her wine gigs there. Sadly, her husband had a massive stroke last Sunday and I don't want to go over there and even ask about it. I may just sorta forget about it, and bite the bullet so to speak and get a ticket for Mike while the price is lower.

Yes, but only barely. I HATE that I have to chase my grade for the entire term now. :( I really didn't want that extra stress on me of studying harder for theory on top of doing well in Cinical and all of the paperwork/writing that goes with that. Most of the 2nd Years that graduated last year said on my FB post that this was the hardest exam of the term, so there is a little glimmer of hope.
I needed the hug; THANKS!!!

I second what Pkondz said.

You can do it!

Jill in CO

It will take a TON of hard work for sure!

Sorry to hear about the stress. I have faith that you will rally!

I will certainly do my best!!

Not in Nursing School. I have never heard of any program that doesn't require a 75% to pass, as that is what our Boards require of us. I had NO idea what to expect when I walked in, only that I knew it'd be very difficult. It was. And yes, sipping now.

These things are designed to be hard.
And when you think about it, it should be.

See? Already a little light at the end of a long tunnel.

You're in my harem... you're darned tootin' you're gonna get a hug!
