The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

I was a fresh young(er) nursing student

Still young.

My oldest daughter had just gotten married at the most beautiful and interesting/fun wedding I've ever been to (and coordinated 100%), my hubby was given the all clear and cured status from his prostate cancer

Talk about an emotional roller coaster!

Looking ahead to this coming year, I already know that it will be even HARDER than last in terms of adademics.

The best rewards come from hard work.

To keep my composure when getting yelled at by instructors, (yes, they do that, and yes, I'll address it AFTER I graduate)

::yes:: Right now you should be saying maximum two words (unless asked a question) "Yes ma'am/sir" or "No ma'am/sir".
Once you've graduated you can tell them what complete prats they are.

and not feel like a piece of turd on the sidewalk, to idig deep down and use all of the critical thinking skills I have and then go deeper and find some more.

Good. No dumb bunnies in my harem!

This year, I will have to find creative ways to find quality time with my family so my family doesn't fall apart (I can see why divorce rates among Nursing Students skyrocket),

::yes:: My work recently instituted a family day for trainees. The trainees can bring their families in and show them around so they get an idea of what it is their spouse's are up to.

Zach took off before he could choose, so I got him the spiders. They're sorta guyish, right?

::yes:: I'd wear that.
Although I may not be the foremost authority on all things "guy".

They're getting tucked away for stocking stuffers. You're impressed with my forward thinking, aren't you?

Impressed? In awe, more like.

Brook, as most of you know is at Aulani. Sucks for me. (That I'M not there, not that I can't pay. Someday!)

It's a beautiful resort. Disney really did a nice job there.

, let's just call this Celebration WEEK, shall we? Yes, I think we shall. That way all of my pre-planned stuffs on my To-Do List that were for today can still be part of my merriment.

Perfect!
And I already gave you some dancing bananas just a couple of posts up.

:dogdance::yay::dancer::cool1::jumping1::banana: I wanted to dance on Facebook for you, but Facebook is lame and doesn't have dancing people,or maybe they do and I'm just lame, lol. Either way hooray for one year away!!!

party::dancer::dancer:One year dance party!!

:cool1::cool1:
This is MY little one year dance party. This week I booked our anniversary trip Oct 9-22, 2016! Now I need a little extra pixiedust: to save enough $$ in the next year.

I haven't quoted much on you PTR but have been following along since the beginning since I knew your date was going to be close to mine. Following you helped the long wait we've had so far. You've inspired me to start some more planning and organize some type of binder/folder. Hubby and I talk Disney trip A LOT- what to do, where to eat for anniversary night etc. We need to start making our thoughts into lists!

Wow! MAGIC BANDS! Can't wait to do that too. You make me feel like I'm slow at getting my act together. Guess I still can't believe it's a year from now. We've been wishing on this for so long. Still worried about $$ (hubby was laid off 5 years ago - is now, not by choice, retired) Determined to go even if we need to shorten the length of days or stay at lesser priced resort ( Booked CBR it's where we stayed for honeymoon)

I really admire you for your desire and hard work you've done through nursing school. Please don't let one difficult test get you down. Your year will be tough but so rewarding. Put one foot in front of the other and soon you will be graduating out the door! I will be rooting for you all the way ::yes::

Yay - 1 year to go! Just debating myself about when to purchase the park ticket. I'm glad you got to go out for a frou frou girly drink type of date, and I hope your family holds you up through this year of studying, as you have done for them in the past. Cool bands, I hope they are starting to get a bit excited too, although it's possible that it seems so far away for them at this point, not like those of us who daydream our way to Disney multiple times per day!

Thanks so much for the dance party!! It's fun to have others celebrate with me!

I like my bands too, but now I'm going to have to change my band color. Hmmmm....Yes, I think it's just simply too far away for them to really get pumped up about; a year is a pretty long time for kids. I'm hoping over Christmas break I will have time to sit down with them and show them more options and let them do a little planning with me too.

1 year! It will fly by and its only 9 months until you take your boards. The hard stuff will be over before you know it!

Jill in CO

EEK! Don't remind me! LOL! It always goes pretty quickly as there is NEVER enough time between even just the bi-weekly exams.

Yay for being within a year now! You are so strong to take on a challenge like this! And to have all this planning under your belt so far out! You can do this!

I'd do a lot better THIS week if I hadn't come down with a massive headcold. I think I"m approaching dehydration from the entirety of my bodily fluids draining out my nose. Shoot me now.

Luckily you know what to do... Rest, hot fluids, heating pads, Kleenex with lotion... Some TLC is in order, stat!

Lounged in bed all day studying, hot tea, ice water to replace the snot, hot baths (they feel great!), and a short nap. I gotta get this GONE, so I don't get sent home from Clinicals tomorrow!!

Awww... poor little mermaid.
Sending you some virtual chicken soup.

What happens if that happens?

Thanks! Wishing I had at least some Campbell's to drown my sorrows in.

If we miss, we have a HARD time recovering. We have write ups for each Clinical and must pass at least one. If we miss one, we have one less opportunity for a "pass", which in this case, will only leave me with one opportunity since this rotation at the Psych Hospital is only tomorrow and Tues, and then next Monday and Tuesday. Plus, if another situation comes up where I'd have to miss, I'd probably be out of the program as there are NO make-ups. The State requires you to have a certain number of Clinical hours per term to pass- so it's not just a school thing. I'll dope up on DayQuil and hope that gets me through.

I hope you make it look good tomorrow. Try not to sniffle and do your best!

Yep, today's the day I've been waiting for for a very long time! My 1-Year Mark.
Woohoo!!! Still a long way to go, but being inside of a year is definitely a nice threshold to cross and something to celebrate.

I don't know where that will be yet, I'd love something part time, days, but that may be a pipedream as big as my getting a kitchen remodel in the next 4 years. All before....
I don't know... if you go and get a good job, that remodel might be closer than you think.

Impressed... scared... same diff... :rolleyes1

That does suck! I want to go too!

I'll be going this way to my Study Partner, Heidi's, place to study what happens to you if you have too much potassium or sodium, and you can go that way, to gather your gifts and cake and dancers. ;)
So you study too much potassium or sodium while we study too much sugar??? Deal!!!

Actually, I'm 40.

Oh, sorry. I read that wrong. Congratulations on reaching the milestone! In the spirit of your dance party, I think this needs Wild Party Dumbledore:

Looking ahead to this coming year, I already know that it will be even HARDER than last in terms of adademics. Every single day will be a challenge both academically and emotionally. To keep my composure when getting yelled at by instructors, (yes, they do that, and yes, I'll address it AFTER I graduate), and not feel like a piece of turd on the sidewalk, to idig deep down and use all of the critical thinking skills I have and then go deeper and find some more. After I"m done, probably in July, I'll sit my Boards again, pass them, and find "that dream job". I don't know where that will be yet, I'd love something part time, days, but that may be a pipedream as big as my getting a kitchen remodel in the next 4 years. All before....

Wow, that's quite the task ahead of you. But I'm reminded that you and your family survived and thrived in Crapistan. You can eat this year for breakfast!

Brook, as most of you know is at Aulani.

Rough life, to be sure.

First of all I hope you're feeling better and got through your clinical okay.

I was so into our happy dance and was amazed at your planning that I forgot to ask something on my last post.
Where did you get your magic bands??
