The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

So, I enjoyed your story about your friend's wife birth, but why do they need counseling? I'm confused? Is it because they did not have a totally natural birth? I worked in L&D as one of my many jobs, so I am curious.

PMd you... It's a bit complicated and would love your input. I know you're in the Big Apple right now, so enjoy your trip. I'll call Tuesday evening.

Congratulations on such a stellar semester. I can't believe its almost over. When do you start back up again.

Thanks!! I really am stoked about keeping my 4.0. Not that that is really my main goal- I really just want to pass. But hey, walking with a little bling ain't all that bad.

Love the pin from Pat and Marv. How thoughtful. It's super cute.

It was very thoughtful and extra special since it was a TOTAL surprise!! I had NO idea to even expect it in the mail!

What a gorgeous morning. I miss your pictures.

I miss having time to get out and use the camera. A lot! It was so relaxing and I love having that as a creative outlet. But there really is just no time right now for any extras in my life. That time will come again. :)

Congratulations on doing so well on your big exam. Great update too! What a wonderful experience you got to have being in the birth room with your friend, it truly is amazing, it's different being on the other end of it, watching Leom be born and seeing Marrisa fall in love with him (She even cut the umbilical cord herself) is something I will never forget.
The Minnie nurse pin is super cute, I haven't seen that one before.
Yay for Mickey Mail!!!! That always brightens the day.

Thanks a bunch! Watching a birth is truly a special thing. A mircle unfolding right there and so beautiful to watch Mommy and Baby bond and all. I was lucky enough to cut the cord and share in such an intimate moment.

You totally should look for one! I'll bet they found it at DTD? I'll have to ask....

Best! kind of mail!

I think we found it at the big pin booth in Epcot behind SE. There were two different ones but we chose that one because you had posted the picture of yourself wearing your scrubs.

I confess, I was curious. Now I can sleep well tonight before my final. ;)

Okay, TEAM STEPPE...

Tomorrow is the end of the term. Like or not, I have a 100 question final where I have to choose the BEST answer out of several that are all right answers- my job is to find the best one, or ones in the case that it's a "Choose all the apply".

I did the final calculation, and I need to pull an 80% to keep my A in the term. Very doable. Unless nerves or a giant brain fart happens. Which is also very doable. I am going to spend the rest of the evening doing some final touches on my studying, and when I can't study anymore, I am probably going to look again at the pros and cons of a US Airways Visa card vs. a Southwest Visa card. I need a way to bring down our airline travel cost for this trip. Being that I only have one or possibly 2 more tickets to buy, it's time to focus on other aspects of the trip. I also need to put together a timeline/budget/spreadsheet of the trip so I can lay it all out for DH who needs solid numbers and a massive amount of "coaching" to get him onboard.

In other news, I am planning a trip to Bowling Green this July, and if any of my Readers are in that area, I would LOVE, Love, LOVE to meet up in Nashville for dinner or such. I dont' get to that area of the country nearly as often as I'd like but would enjoy meeting any of you who can make it. Mid-July is the plan right now.

@Flossbolna, I haven't forgotten about reading your Dining Reviews you posted, or you @glennbo123 ... I will get there....

Love you guys!!

Giant brain fart? I know we have never met, but I'm pretty sure you are a smallish woman so it can't be large enough for that.

Wait, that probably doesn't sound right........ Never mind!

Good luck my friend! As usual I'm sure you have prepared yourself well and will easily maintain that Big "A" you have worked hard to attain!

Wait, that probably didn't sound right either.......... :o

When in doubt, the answer is B! Hey, it got me through the Professional Engineering licensure exam. There must have been a lot of B's that year.

You'll be fine. I often found little value in last-minute cramming. Either you know it or you don't at that point. Just stay away from Taco Bell and that should keep the brain farts (and others) to a minimum.

Dagnabbit! Not quite within Day Trip range for us.

I'm too late to help you study, but I was getting stuck this morning for routine blood tests and I saw a chart on the wall and it reminded me of your exams, so I made note of a little question for you...what's the maximum amount of blood you should draw from a 50 pound child, under age 14, (one-time draw)? The chart may have been the lab's policy, so I'll accept other answers that cite medical sources. :teeth:

And yes, they were allowed to take more from me than that! I know what you're thinking.

Hmmm, no plans for Nashville in July. But I will be in WDW in June and Hilton Head, SC late-June/early-July! :woohoo:( <-- double-fisted butter churner )

Aw! :goodvibes

All the best for your final! I will be thinking of you!
Thanks, Sweet Thing!

I am super stoked about my grade and am happy to just .... rest now.

Well, I actually did have a giant brain fart on about 4 of the questions I missed. But seriously, and 87% is just fine with me.

As for my giant "A". Yeah, well, you'd actually be impressed at what Nursing School will do to *that*!!! Holy cow, the amount of sitting I do studying is quite astounding and serves to widen that "A" quite "nicely". :worried: "Celebrating" after each exam has hardly helped in that dept. either. :ssst:

I am SO glad you told me. I was so going to go with "C"!! Phew, I'm absolutely certain I did MUCH better now!

Darn it!! Well, it's still several months away, and plans can change. Tuck it into your travel hat and let me know if you all can swing it.

I'm sorry I missed this...but hope you did awesome on your final.

I did, Kathy. Well, not awesom, cuz that would have have been a 90% or higher, but this was enough to keep the A I was hoping for!

Hmmm... we haven't covered that yet, but I do know that the average adult has 5-6 liters of blood. Let me do a quick google search. (That's why I'm spending about $10,000- to learn how to do Google searches)

Ok, back:

20 mL for a one time draw, or 160 mL total during a 1-month hospital stay. Interesting... had no idea since phlebotomy is next year. WooHoo!, I"m already ahead! Thanks. http://www.nhrmc.org/maximumblooddrawonpediatricpatients

And yes, I was wondering if you qualified as child. ;)

Well, shapooey. Hanging out with you can Judy again would be so kewl!!

Hope you aced that test! :goodvibes

I wouldn't say ACED, but good enough. That counts, right??

An A!! You rock!

And I am off to bed... Getting furniture delivered tomorrow morning...

YAY!! :D So happy! Had a few celebratory mimosas and am home ready for massive power nap. :D

Furniture!? I am so ready for a few new pieces- would love photos! Sleep well, and thanks for the sweet support this week!

HAHAHA! I had to laugh at the count... 2 mimosas and 1 lemon drop later, I am comfortably settled in my recliner until dinner. I. AM. NOT. MOVING. I am sitting right here, not thinking about one stinking math problem (all 3 of which I got correct on the exam), not one ABG lab result to interpret, not one single piece of therapeutic communicationl I am super happy, and staring at my 6 new binders ready to decorate for next term (because I am SUPER nerdy like that), and thinking nah! I'm just gonna camp right here on the DIS for about 4 more hours. Yup.

If Liesa has two mimosas and one lemon drop four hours before dinner, and then sits (deservedly) like a lump until dinner time.............what will tiny little Liesa's BAC be when dinnertime arrives.............????

Oops, does that qualify as a math question???

Congrats my friend!!!!

STOOOOOOP! NO more math! (Ok, that depends on how many Cheddar Cheese Lil' Smokies I get down when I waddle to the fridge, how heavily I breathe when I get excited over Disney resort pictures, how many times I have to yell at the kids to remind them to do the dishes, and how many times I sigh when I am reminded that dinner isn't going to magically make itself. )

Hmmm.... less than the legal limit to drive and get a pizza. Right? Somebody PLEASE give me permission to go and grab a pizza!!!!!!

City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

I remember that post quite well, now that I've been reminded...

So, I have a question @glennbo123: have you been to the Cali Grill? (I'm guessing you have, but I'm foggy on all things "past TR") If so, would you compare the FF's atmossphere to CG? I"m kinda shooting for that vibe. Swanky in an upbeat, noisy, but definitely not too much so kind of place. I love the showcase kitchen thing those 2 have going for sure.

Since I've already tried CG on my last trip, I want to branch out some and tackle some places I've not been to yet. Which leaves me a plethora of options since I only get there every 4 or so years, and things keep changing.

From Europe to Africa in America - A Sisters' Expedition

Ok, I remember that post as well! WOW! And was that ever WEIRD to see me as All7OfUs again!

I remember the whole fish, and yes, now I remember that the atmosphere does seem a little uppity here and a bit "quieter and stark" than FF- if I'm drawing the right conclusions.

From Europe to Africa in America - A Sisters' Expedition

Ok, this one may be have been the clincher. I love the slow pace, the attention to detail, and the food looks incredible. Of course that may have changed since you were there, but I am mainly looking for ambiance, decor and such from these reviews you guys have posted. I really am loving the look of this place!!!
