The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Hi Guys...

It's that time again, where I'd sure love your good Thoughts! Exam is at 8:00 AM; I've not felt this unprepared yet. No really, it's true. :P

Just going back over my Content Objectives, still trying to put to memory the meds and their side effects. (....and being insanely jealous of Cynthia, MEK, Marv and Pat, and the several others that are in my Happy Place right now.)

Will get to responses tomorrow after the exam and as always, let you know how I did. :)

Beautiful pictures. Definitely the kind of pick me up to help you get through some stressful days.

Good luck on your exam this morning. I'm sure you'll do well!

According to my calculations you should come out of your exam soon? Not sure how long they are, but I think it is 10am now where you are. So, I hope they asked the right questions (i.e. the ones that you knew the answers to)!!

Your calculations were correct! :) after the exam, I immedidiately went to the library to print over 100 pages of material for the next (and last) round of content for the term. Then went home and grabbed Anara for a bacon cheeseburger lunch. So here I am sitting in the warm sun, eating a high lipids meal and.....

Enjoying my 88% on Exam 4!!! I'll take it! :D

well done!!!!

:jumping1:

And enjoy your cheeseburger - especially if you can eat it in the warm sun!! No warm sun here...

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing your dreaming ! I"m glad your term is going well in spite of the stress

Tammie!

So, SO good to see you here! I was thinking about you the other day, back to the day you came up and hung out my deck and we just sat and talked. Ahhhh!

Yes, my dreaming keeps on going, and that carrot at the end of my Nursing School stick keeps me going. Well, that and knowing that I REALLY am loving every minute! :) I've managed to do more than "just pass" so far, although, that story may change altogether next year- or even next term. One. Day. At. A. Time. :)

Beautiful pics! Disney dreaming is the best! pixiedust:

Thanks, Hope!! :) And it really is. I don't ever really have more than 1/2 hour here or there in between reading, listening to lectures, etc... let alone trying to keep up with laundry or even keeping food in the house. It's a challenge, and every once in a while, I love to vegetate.... with old photos. I WILL make it to your thread! I PROMISE!!

Oh, the Swiss Family Treehouse, that makes sense for the perspective! I was wondering if it was taken from outside the park with a zoom lens or so...

You really have an eye for photography, I also loved the pictures from your New Years Retreat!

Looking at old pictures is really wonderful as something to cheer you up! I sometimes go back to read my old trip reports, those always bring back fond memories. But that can be very time consuming if you get sucked into reading more and more... I remember when I first started posting on your last pre trip report and I think you were already at the beginning of the second thread, I actually went back and read the whole first thread including all the wonderful banter! I sometimes miss those times, seems like people have far less time for the DIS now than then. Not sure why, but it seems that nearly everyone of my DISfriends (and myself) seems so much busier today than in 2009...

Nope... although, I do plan to take my long lens this trip and play around. I don't think I'll take it into the parks, but may fiddle around with it, for say the Water Parade or something...

Ok, you did it. You opened a can of worms, and it's my turn to lament. The Old Gang has really all but disappeared (Kat, Jordy, etc...) I REALLY, really miss the teasing and silliness SO much. There are still quite a few around here to keep me company, but the chatter seems to be mostly gone. I do realize you get out of a thread what you put into it, and (for good reason) I can't be here to build my community and banter as much as you KNOW I do; until then, I try to keep my little thread alive until Summer. I have made some very dear friends here and even get to see them occasionally, which fills my heart with joy, but I suppose FB has filled a place that DISsing once had. I guess? Anyway, yes, I do miss the old "feel" of the DISFamily a LOT. When I came back, I immediately felt it/saw it/ etc...I know I am busier for sure, but it is very temporary and going by VERY quickly- at least for me. I will be back; be certain of that!

Great pictures! I love the castle one, because I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't recognize where or what castle it is right away...

Thanks, Katharina!! I like to find the unique shots and purposely go out of my way to find a new treasure every time I go! :)

Nice Disney photos! We love to just daydream too.

Julie got a nice shot from the Swiss Family Treehouse too. It is a great photo spot!

Oh. My! That is a really beautiful shot! Kudos, Julie! I love SM, all 4 "flavors" in one shot, in fact, so to speak. Nicely done.

Awesome pictures from previous trips, Liesa. I especially like the AK one. :)

Thanks, Kathy! AK is my favorite park to photograph! :)

Ahhhhh. Thanks.

Like a breath of fresh air, eh??

Whelp, now you guys have me convinced that I HAVE to go into the treehouse...

You really should! Especially if you grew up with the movie or like it! There are a lot of fun details in there (including some cool Hidden Mickeys.).

Beautiful pictures. Definitely the kind of pick me up to help you get through some stressful days.

Good luck on your exam this morning. I'm sure you'll do well!

Thanks, Andy!! :o I should probably do a little more posting of a picture here and there, just to keep myself motivated- and for something for my Readers to enjoy other than Nursing School Progress- which can get tedious, I know. :) But Ticket #3 is on the way, so there IS that coming. :)

well done!!!!

:jumping1:

And enjoy your cheeseburger - especially if you can eat it in the warm sun!! No warm sun here...

:jumping1: is right! And thanks! It did feel good to get it done, and not do too badly on it. I missed a very easy calculation that I'm pretty upset with myself over, but it's all water under the bridge now.

We enjoyed our lunch out together; it's been a VERY long time since I"ve gotten to just enjoy some together time with Anara.

That's a hard earned cheeseburger! Congratulations!

Yes. And I ate (every bite) in honor of just having finished up Heart Disease, Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease, etc... Of course, the effects will be completely negated with an Odwalla Protein and Greens smoothie for dinner. Completely.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: on the 88%

YAY!!! Thanks for cheeing me on, Kathy!! It's so great to have support and share this wild ride with you all!

I'm so glad I got to be at your home and meet your family! Your surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful and it is fun to know where you are when you describe your life.

I miss our "old" days, too. There are a couple of other threads that have gone the way of FB, and it just isn't the same. I think people move on to new chapters in their lives, also. I think we also get used to shorter posts on FB, with no dancing bananas - the mood just changes. I am thankful for the wonderful friendships I have made here, though.

I am sorry for opening that can of worms!! :upsidedow The whole DIS has changed quite a bit in recent years. It might be Facebook, but I think it is also the general advancement of social media. There are so many blogs out there now (the Disney Food Blog, the Disney Cruise Line Blog) and I think those make it easy for people to get their Disney fix without having to navigate convoluted discussion boards. I also think that the ability to read the boards from mobile devices has an effect. People read the DIS from their phone, but replying on the phone is a PITA. So a lot of people just lurk and read. The loss of proper keyboards makes us mute. :sad2: I find the new format easier to use on my phone and have noted that I replied more from the phone than I did in the past. So maybe the new format will help a little...

But then I also think that people just move on. Maybe the DIS is more of a phase for many people. And this is just a natural occurence that your old gang is not around anymore. I am sure that over time you will make new friends - and who knows, you might end up with another gang of dear friends by the time you are a registered nurse and are enjoying your well earned graduation vacation!!! :yay:

How can people not miss dancing bananas?????????????

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

They are the best smilies ever invented! :goodvibes

Agreed on everything here! We need more dancing bananas in our lives. I find that Facebook is a great way to keep up with what my friends and their families are up to (once I ignore all the political posts, anyway). But you can get a deeper friendship here, I think. It's like the difference between reading a newspaper column and reading a novel. With dancing bananas.

Congratulations!!!

I agree with all of you and I love :banana::banana:

But I don't really feel like I'm allowed to complain very much, as I have always been kind of a lurker. But you see - even a lurker misses "the old days"

I think you have made yourself known :flower1:
