The 5 J's Go Back to Disney *6/7* We're home :( But the TR has been started!!

Well, I am officially sick :( I went to the dr this morning and wasted $20 for him to tell me what I basically already knew. Oh well. Jayden is also home sick with another migraine. Poor kid can't get a break. And I feel totally guilty because I thought DH gave him his Topamax last night and he thought I did. Jayden will generally remind us before we even have a chance to give it to him, so since he didn't say anything, I didn't ask him if he'd had it. So now I feel like it's my fault he has a migraine :( I will be sure to always verify if he's taken it from now on.

And then like I mentioned above, we are overdrawn. Grrr. So some of the cash I have set aside for the kids' spending money will have to go in the bank today to cover all those stinking fees (I feel nauseous paying the bank fees) and we'll have to make it up somehow. *sigh* I can't wait til I have a paycheck!

Speaking of paychecks, I heard from the recruiter. She told me she spoke with the DON who told her that she will be calling me for a peer interview soon. :yay: When I was listening to my voice mail and heard that, I started jumping up and down in my front yard. Good thing my neighbors already know I am crazy. I also had my final evaluation yesterday. It went very well. I got almost all Excellents and a couple Satisfactories (mostly stuff I really wasn't exposed to). I got to see my babies again, too, which was a bonus.

I've done some more packing :) That always feels good. I wish AAA would call me and tell me they have my trip documents. I want them in my hand so I can stroke them and hold them and... Well you get the picture.

My next project is pricing for our yard sale (crossing my fingers we do especially well, particularly after the bank snafu) and I also have to scour TGM to come up with our daily itineraries. Yea, I know I should have done that months ago, but it seemed like I had so much time and I didn't want to be bored three weeks out. Well now it's three weeks out and I have so much to do LOL Oh well, I thrive on pressure.

That is great about your pending peer interview! That is awesome!:dance3:
I used to work in a bank and if it was a first time overdrawn we waive some of the fees as long as the balance was brought up to at least $10.00...I worked for a small local bank so I don't know if yours would do it...it doesn't hurt to ask though. :)

ETA-I am sorry about Jayden's migraine! I get one every once in awhile and they are so painful. Poor kid...I hope he feels better soon. *hugs to Jayden*

Awww, Jen, so sorry you and Jayden are not feeling well. :sad1: My DGD just had a seige with migraines every day when several fronts came through in a row. Is Jayden sensitive to the pressure changes? The neurologist went up on her Topamax AND her depakote. She hadn't been raised in a while so guess she had gained weight and needed a higher dose. DD was hoping to back her off of the topamax, but that definitely won't happen soon. :confused3 She has been doing much better the last few days, so we are hoping that will last through the trip next week.
That is so frustrating about the bank - I just hate when I do something like that! And it is also frustrating to have to wait to find out about your job. We are all just going to wish you very good vibes on that one.:goodvibes Thank goodness you have WDW to look forward to!!
Hope things go better SOON!! :grouphug:

I am really excited about it, but it is killing me to wait. I wish she'd just call me already!:scared:

Thanks so much for the bank advice. When I went to pick Jory up from preschool, I deposited $300 to cover the overdraft and $75 more. Then when I got home, I called the bank and they agreed to reverse the $175:scared1: in fees. THANK GOD! It made me so mad, because I was only overdrawn $29, but there were 4 small transactions (less than $10) and one $50 credit card payment all put through yesterday. Of course, they subtract the largest one first:rolleyes: . If the small ones had gone through first, I would have only had one $35 fee on the CC pymt. I hate banks. But thanks again. I feel so much better now. I was seriously ready to cry at throwing away $175 like that! The representative let me know that it was a ONE TIME ONLY courtesy. Trust me, it will NEVER happen again!:sad2:

Jayden's feeling a bit better after sleeping til noon. I can tell he's feeling better because he's being a brat to his little brother:mad: Kids! LOL

 Thanks! He is doing better today but still looks like he's not out of the woods yet (his ears and lips get bright red and his eyes just have "that look".) I hope your DGD and my DS both have migraine-free trips!!

Thanks to daisy's suggestion, the bank reversed the fees:woohoo: I am so grateful. Thanks for the good luck vibes on the job. I appreciate it so much.

Yay! I am so glad that the bank did that for you!:cool1:

I am glad that your DS is feeling better! :goodvibes

Just keep thinking about Disney! It can make the worst day a thousand times better!:wizard:

OK major change. Again.

I decided to go ahead and cancel my room only ressie for June 3-4 and add that night to our package, giving us the extra set of dining credits. I cancelled Boatwrights on the 29th and have a California Grill ADR for 5:40pm :cloud9: I am happy. I really wanted to do Boatwrights, but I want CG more. Plus, it works out well, because on the 4th when we check out, we will have 5 QS amd 5 snack credits left to use. So we can go to the food court and have some lunch before hitting the road, which takes some money off of the "travel" budget. And we can use the snack credits for fun mickey type snacks for the car ride home. :thumbsup2

I told DH already, by the way. He sighed and said, "Whatever you want honey!" Smart man. I love him.

My throat still hurts like crazy and I feel like I am going to choke every time I try to drink something. :scared: But this too shall pass.

OH!! My AAA agent told me that my documents have been there since Monday! (Not sure why she hadn't already notified me of this. Doesn't she know I'm dying over here?!?!). She said that this change will be noted at the hotel and that they don't need to reprint my documents. That makes me a teeny bit nervous. But she is sending me a new invoice indicating the change, so I will just be sure to bring that with me. Anyway, she is mailing them to me. I requested a triptik and she sighed and said, "Well, I will order one for you, but I doubt it will get here in time. You leave in three weeks, you know." Well duh. :headache: She really irks me.

She was less than friendly. Which is nothing new. She did not hide the fact that she was annoyed with today's change. Which ticks me off. I could have booked without AAA and am almost wishing I had at this point, but too late now, right?

When I added a night a couple weeks ago, she didn't even take care of it for me - it was another agent. The only times she has dealt with me at all are when I originally booked way back in AUGUST, and one other time when I changed from the AAA discount to the free park hopper/water park add on in January. I did all my own ADRs - I don't trust anyone else LOL (and that's where most of the changes have been!). Not sure what her problem is. And I am not sure how she is paid, but I am thinking she gets some sort of commission, right? You'd think that everytime I spend more money, she'd be happy, not aggravated. :confused3

I would NOT recommend our local AAA office to anyone, and I will be sure to let them know that after I return from my trip. They were incompetent from the start (argued with me about everything!). For example, I called the day the AAA discounts were released by Disney. They didn't know, which is fine, I can understand that, kinda. But the rep actually argued with me and refused to even call to check. He finally did it after I insisted, and he came back all apologetic and took my ressie.

Then I asked what benefits I get for booking with AAA instead of straight through Disney. He told me about the standard stuff and then when he was telling me about the diamond parking pass, he gushed about how it will save us parking fees. I mentioned that resort guests don't pay parking fees regardless. We went back and forth on that for 3-4 minutes before I finally said, "Let's just agree to disagree and move on. What else is there?"

Then they sent me dining paperwork that was 3 years old. It still listed the age for kids at restaurants as 3-11!!! That changed to 3-9 when we were in Disney in 2005! :sad2:

Anyway, it's lots of little things like that. It doesn't really affect me, since I have the DIS and know better. But it makes me feel badly for people who don't have the DIS and are getting this misinformation. Especially the kids' ages thing - that is a big deal money wise! Next time I think I will skip the AAA "perks" and just book through Disney or call a AAA rep from the DIS!

I still haven't had time to work on our daily itineraries.:rolleyes1 Hopefully I can work on that in the next few days.

I hope you are feeling better!:goodvibes
Sorry your service is so bad with AAA. I have heard some scary stories about them. We have a very nice travel agent who always assists us. We chat back and forth by email so much it's like she's part of the family.
  You are only three weeks away!!
I am so excited for you!! I'm on 37 more days!!!

Hooray, you're going to California Grill!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
:dance3: I am so excited! So is Jessica - she loved their strawberry dessert ensemble last time. I told her they may not have it this time, since they change their menu often, and her face fell! But the kids are all excited about drawing on the paper tablecloth again:rotfl: That totally struck me as odd last time - it's such a nice restaurant and they let the kids draw on the table. It worked, though - they had fun and it kept them occupied:thumbsup2
I hope you are feeling better!:goodvibes

Thanks. My throat/ear still hurts really bad, but I'm dealing with it. That is awesome that your TA is so wonderful. I still can't believe how close our trip is!

I forgot to mention in my update that I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a tie dye kit. I am going to go back and get another one too (just gotta print another 40% coupon). I want to have it on hand just in case I need it and I can always return it if I don't. I have the white T shirts already except one for DH, which I'll get this week. Now I just need to figure out if we're going to do the spiral design or the bullseye. :confused3 Decisions, decisions.

I am also going to make transfer shirts. I've still got to check out that thread that Lynn referred to in her PTR for a custom design. I'm going to wait it out to get the shirts for that project, though. I suspect (hope) Mike's may have them on sale in the next week or two and it won't take long to iron the transfers on, so I feel ok waiting. I've got to get my design soon though, so I can print them out and have that part ready.

For some reason, DH is less than thrilled about the T shirt idea, but he'll come along soon. I hope LOL Of course, I *am* the one packing, so... :rolleyes1

I've got two $25 gift cards to RFC from mypoints in my passporter ready to go. I need 35 more points to get a third. I think I will make it! The turnaround time has been really good too. At the rate I've been getting 5 point emails, I should be able to get that ordered in the next week or so. That will definitely help.:thumbsup2 I also have a $10 coupon that they emailed to us a couple months ago. It expires two weeks before our trip, but I called RFC and they said as long as the expiration date was close, they'd take it.:cool1: Gotta love that.

We keep forgetting to tear the links off of our countdown chain LOL We've just been so busy! Jory is always the one who remembers. The other morning in the car on the way to preK, he asked, "How many days til Disney, Mama?" 23 was my reply (because that was the right answer at the time of course ;)). So he replied, "Then 22, then 21, then 20, then twentyteen, then twentynineteen, then twentyeighteen, then twentyseventeen..." :rotfl2: He cracks me up! I was impressed that he could kinda count backwards though.

Opinion time...

Is it tacky that I want to call Coral Reef and ask the diver to hold a sign saying, "Congratulations NURSE Jennifer!"?? :confused3

Ooohhh, I'm reading but haven't got to the end! Caught up already, can't wait for the rest!

Making tee shirts sounds like so much fun!

No way!! I think you should go for it!

I am sorry you had such a bad time with your TA. That is why unless I get a great deal I book through Disney myself...I am just OCD about the plans and all.

California Grill sounds great and an extra day of Disney!!! Good luck making the shirts make sure you post some pictures. Also I do not think it is tacky with the diver at Coral reef that sounds like fun and you should be proud of what you accomplished!!!

Congrats on the change, you got what you wanted and now you won't wonder "what if??" the whole trip. Can't wait to hear about California Grill, I want to go there with DH next year on our adults only anniversary trip.
Can't wait to see the transfer t-shirts, take pics when you are done, would love to see them, I need to do those myself, luckily my DH is excited about them, how did I luck out???
As for the diver thing. .. WHY NOT?? You deserve it? Can DH call for you, then you wouldn't feel weird?

I just hope I can find the time to actually make the T shirts. I always have good intentions but I need an extra day of every week all to myself. :goodvibes He definitely keeps us on our toes hehe. I think I will call CR after all;)

Thanks. I wanted to book thru Disney (did it last time and it was totally hassle free). But at first I was going for the AAA discount package which can only be booked thru AAA. When I went to change it, I considered cancelling and going thru CRO but I had already paid my deposit, etc. *sigh* Live and learn. I can't wait to get back to CG:woohoo: I really didn't add an extra day - we were already staying that extra night anyway, but it was a room only add on after our package. Without dining credits. I just cancelled the room only ressie and added that night to our package to get the extra night of dining credits. :) Disney math can be confusing :rotfl: I will definitely post pics of the shirts if I ever have time to make them:rolleyes1 I am totally proud:cloud9: and have decided to call CR after all!

Thanks! Now hopefully you will have the same luck with your FDP! We loved CG last trip and can't wait to return. We would love to go without the kids but it isn't happening this trip. Originally, his parents were going to come along for a few days and were going to watch them so we could go to CG together, but that didn't work out. We are planning an adults only trip at some point (Poly!!!) but not sure when. I don't think Jeff would call for me LOL I guess I'll just do it myself :)

I've been so sick all week - my throat hurts and my glands are so swollen I can't swallow. I almost actually choked on water several times. The pressure and pain has travelled up to my ear and it hurts so much I was crying a lot today :sad1:

This week has been even crazier than normal. :scared: Go get yourself a cold drink and check this out - Some of this is a repeat but it fit into the timeline of my crazy life.

Saturday Jessica had a special band performance at 10am about 20 minutes away. Well both boys had baseball games that morning (9am and 11am). So Jess went home with a friend from band after school Friday and spent the night so they could take her to the band thing. Then they dropped her off at the ball field and picked her up again at 3:30 because she wanted to go to church with them Sunday. The rest of us went up to the Disney store and then out to eat at a place owned by a Buffalo guy (I had beef on weck - yum!).

Sunday was my last precepting day 7a-3p (I miss it so much already!). Then Jory had a bday party to go to 3p-4:30.

Monday Jess had band practice til 5:30. Picked her up on the way to Jory's Tball practice 5:45-6:30. This is when I started to feel sick.

Tuesday I had my final evaluation 10am @ the hospital (went great). Jess had colorguard practice after school til 6pm then band practice til 7pm then a band concert @ 7pm. (So she was at school from 8am-8:30pm).:scared1: Jeff came home early so he could take Jayden to boyscouts @ 7pm. My throat was worse tonight.

Wednesday morning Jayden woke up @ 5am puking with a migraine. My throat was extremely painful and I went to the dr. Paid him $20 for nothing. Hate that. Thankfully, Jayden felt better by around 2pm. We were supposed to go to church that night. But my car COMPLETELY overheated when I went to pick Jess up from school. Scared the heck out of me. Jess got a ride to church from a friend (it was the last Wednesday church of the school year and I feel so bad that the boys missed it ). The boys and I just hung out and I felt like I was going to die.

(head spinning yet? mine is!)

Thursday (today) I slept in and was in the worst pain yet. Jeff was wonderful  - he took the boys to school and then fixed my radiator. Told me it was a major PITA. He then took it to the tire place because I had a nail in one of my tires and have had to fill it up with air every morning for the past two weeks. Thank God we bought road hazard insurance on the tires when we bought them last summer - it only cost $7 to replace it! :thumbsup2 Jess had colorguard practice after school again til 6pm then dance rehearsal til 7pm then a dance concert. Jeff took the boys to Jayden's baseball practice while I went to Jessica's school for her dance concert. (she was at school for 12 hours again today):scared1:

Tomorrow (Friday) when I take Jayden to school, I have to go to his classroom for a mother's day breakfast 8-8:30 (they're doing it a week early because of something else that's going on next Friday). Gotta rush home to get Jory ready and bring him to my friend Angie's house so I can go to my graduation rehearsal 10a-12p and then our luncheon 12p-2p.

Saturday Jory's tball game is at 9am and Jayden's is at 11am. My niece Nyla's bday party is at 3pm up at Chuck E Cheese. We're going to head back to the Disney store after that because I heard they marked stuff down further so I want to get some more shirts and get a price adjustment on the ones I got last week. Plus JCP is having that big sale and I got a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon as well as the $10 off $50 coupon. Can't beat that. I need a couple more pairs of shorts because I haven't lost as much weight as I wanted to before our trip:sad2: (though I have lost 4 pounds this week since I haven't eaten due to my throat being too swollen to swallow anything:rolleyes: ).

Sunday of course is GRADUATION!!! :woohoo: :cheer2: Church first @ 9:15 til around noon. Then lunch and then off to the ceremony. I think we're going out to eat afterwards though we really should save the money for Disney.

To top it off, this was teacher appreciation week, so I had to remember what I was supposed to send in for each kids' teacher for each day of the week. :headache: AND Next week won't be much less hectic.

When did life get so crazy?

My house is trashed since we are only home long enough to mess it up and soon we will all be naked because I can't remember the last time I did a proper load of laundry. Scary.:scared:

On a good note, I got my trip documents in the mail today! :dance3: I'm so excited! It is awesome to have those documents in my hands with the confirmations, vouchers, and pretty Disney luggage tags. It feels so official now. I think I'm all done changing things now. LOL All I have left to do is plan our daily itineraries in each park (which rides to ride first, etc). Oh and make those tee shirts :rolleyes1 And pack. And price my yard sale stuff. And get more comfortable with my new Canon S3IS. And clean the house. And get a job. And...

OH! Speaking of a job, I have an interview next week. It's not for the NICU but it's in the Women's Tower (I want to be in the same vicinity as the NICU if I can't get the NICU so I can keep my face in their face if you KWIM!). I have been playing email and phone tag with the DON for the NICU. I will get in and talk to her soon darnit! I am not above begging, either.

OK gotta throw the clothes in the dryer (after I put the clothes from the dryer on the couch... ) and get to bed. Another crazy day tomorrow.

Wow! You are one busy lady!
I hope that you start feeling better soon! Maybe it is all the stress making you sick. I am thinkin of ya and sending some get better Pixie Dust to you.:wizard:

Ah, the excitement of getting THE DOCS! I love that----it is official, you are going to Disney World! :dance3:

I have big news, huge news.

But...

You'll have to wait. I just got an important phone call I've gotta take. ;)
