Hey all - I am so glad to have found this section of the DIS boards! I decided I should post my goal to help keep myself motivated and accountable. So, what is the 40 Before 40 Goal? Let me first give you some background.
Last week I was in Las Vegas for a conference with DH. The last 3 days of our trip my best friend joined us. One night we were going to a fancy dinner; BF was dressed to the teeth and looked beautiful, DH was decked out and looked amazing...and then there was me.
I refused to go out to dinner with them; it struck me that night how heavy I have gotten and how crappy I look. I didn't want to look like the fat girl tagging along with, what would appear to strangers, a beautiful couple. It was just too embarrassing.
Well thank goodness for an awesome BF and amazing DH; they refused to accept my decision. BF told me over and over not to care what others think and that I looked fine; DH said "if you don't go, I don't go" and told me he didn't care what anyone else thought because he loves me and thinks I look wonderful.
Truly, I am VERY lucky to have people like this in my life. But, it is time to own up that I have just gotten too heavy for my own good and it is time to make a lifestyle change. I ultimately need to lose 80 pounds so I have made myself a halfway point goal I think is reasonable...to lose 40 pounds before my 40th birthday on September 5th.
The 40 Before 40 Goal!
We got back from Las Vegas on Monday and I started my diet on Tuesday. An exercise plan is next on the agenda! I have approximately 32 weeks to reach my 40 Before 40 Goal. Wish me luck!
