Hi Teena :)

I know I've asked you this question before but I wanted to get the latest on the renovations at YC. Are all the rooms done yet? THANKS for your info! :goodvibes

not Teena...but I do believe all the rooms at YC have been renovated. Teena can confirm this.

We stayed there last week (New Years week) for the first time. Loved the location of this resort. I posted some pics of the renovated rooms. Here's the link--- http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...postcount=1825

Beautiful room - thanks for the pics!!

Thank you again, Ms. Teena. Is it acceptable to request one of these rooms by number or is that frowned upon? I ask this knowing that it would only be a request and not a guarantee.

Certainly you can request those rooms by number. Thanks for understanding it might not happen as they might already be occupied.

Daybed Question??
Hard as a rock?? or comfortable or somewhere in between??
We will be utilizing that during our stay this coming week!!

TeenaS--Would you know if the second floor water view rooms you suggested have a daybed?

Wherever we end up we will all be so happy to be staying at BC. We are so excited and the next 2 months cannot go quickly enough!! Made a few ADR's today one for Cape May breakfast!

For anyone who may know: DD7 was asking about hairwrapping at the pool and the choose a clam pearl kiosk- are they still there?

Well, it's official. After 2 weeks at CBR, for the first week of oct. I've just booked a standard HA room at the BC. :thumbsup2

Can anybody tell me which drinks are available at the refill station? I'm assuming tea, coffee, lemonade, something else? How about Fanta? Already found out they offer it at the Boardwalk to Go. :goodvibes

I appologize for not running a search, but my computer errorred out! I haven't been to YC in ten years do you still have to go to Beaches and Cream for drink refills with the mug? Or is there somewhere closer?

DD had the hair wrapping done this summer and the pearl kiosk was still there. Be careful though - dd didn't ask the price before she got it done (and I think they should have had a parent's consent) and it ended up costing $50. She did look at the sign but she didn't realize the price was by the inch - her fault I know but still. Needless to say she won't be getting it done this year!

We love the Cape May breakfast (and dinner!) buffets - have a great time.

Thanks DisneyMom! My DD has very long hair- just about to the lower back!:scared1: Probably more than I'm willing to spend! Maybe we'll settle for the pearl this trip!!;)

DS3 is SO excited about meeting Donald, Goofy and Minnie at Cape May.

I am looking forward to cape may breakfast seeing everyone keeps mentioning how good it is. We eat dinner there every trip so seeing as this will be our first stay at CBR we will do breakfast as well.:thumbsup2

Yes - dd's hair is about the same length!

Cape May Buffet is one of the best breakfast buffets on property,IMHO. One of the few places you can meet Donald too. The characters looks so cute in their "beachy" costumes. It's almost my favorite because it's the only breakfast buffet I remember that has asparagus!

When is your trip?

March 18-25. Asparagus- yum!

I just realized we hit the 100 day mark until our arrival, and I'm sooo excited! :yay:

This will be our first trip to BC/YC and to WDW (we live closer to DL), so I will be pestering you with lots of questions over the next few months. TIA for your help!

We are a family of six (me, DH, DS14, DD11, DD9, DD5). I have always wanted to stay at YC/BC, and when I got the coveted pin last month, I was able to justify booking it even though our family requires two rooms (doubling the cost). BC was full with the pin code, but I was able to get two rooms at YC (I was only leaning toward BC because the famous Teena is there. :))

I was reading on this site last week about BC villas, and I got wondering if they would be a good option for our family, but I assumed they would cost more than two rooms at YC. I called to check on price and availability. They were sold out for the pin code for my dates, but the CM thought the cost of the 2 bedroom villa would be roughly the same as the two standard rooms at YC I have reserved. (She couldn't check the exact pricing as there was not one available to check.) Is anyone familiar enough with the pricing to tell me if that makes sense? Should I keep checking back to see if a villa becomes available or are we better off in two connecting rooms at YC?

Wildflower, it depends a bit on the time of year your going. You can see the rack rates before tax at; http://www.mousesavers.com/dvcresorts2010.html for the BCV (just scroll down to BCV) and at http://www.mousesavers.com/yachtclub2010.html for the YC. As you can see, a 2-bedroom villa at BCV at rack rate is already cheaper than 2 YC rooms, when going during value season. Going by your mention of the 100-day mark, I'm guessing your going during the second part of april? At rack rate regular season, the 2 bedroom would be a bit more expensive per night than 2 rooms at YC.

The PIN-code for DCV is at least 40%. I've heard some folks about 45%, but didn't check on that myself. If that would be true, the price for the 2 options might become very comparable.

What you could do, is have them pricing out a 2-bedroom villa at BWV, assuming they've got availability overthere with the PIN. Those villas are priced at the same rate as those at the BCV, so that way you would get a good idea of pricing.

Another thing you might want to take a look at is the picture thread. The looks of the BCV is different than those of the BC rooms. Personally I found I didn't care for the BCV look, but do for the BC and YC look.

And then there is the option of renting DVC points through a DVC-member. Even with the PIN-discount, that might be a (much) cheapee way to go. I know from crunching some numbers myself, it is for sept/oct. To give you an idea; one standard room at BC for €1809 per week (with 40% PIN), versus a BCV studio I could've rented for €1050,- for that same week through a DVC-member.

Don't know about april.

They will probably have you down on your reservation as 3 adults and 1 child and 2 infants with those ages. They should automatically give you a room with a daybed but it doesn't hurt to put it on your reservation as a request. Since you booked a standard view room and are overloaded with people, I would highly suggest requesting 1606, 2606, 3606 or 3606. The view is okay but the main thing is that those four rooms are oversized. Please remember, requests are only requests. There is no guarantee you are going to get what you request. However, if one of those rooms are open when you check-in, our room assignors try really hard to meet your requests. Just make sure those rooms are listed on your reservation!

Also, when you check-in, don't do an on-line check-in. Then when you get to the front desk and do a regular check-in, you can ask if you got a daybed and if you got one of the rooms you requested. If you didn't get one of those four rooms (because they are occupied), then at least you can have the front desk person verify you have a daybed. If you don't have a daybed, just nicely tell them you NEED one and to please change your room.

Thank you so much for the information and for the information you provide all the other board members. I will be contacting reservations in the next day or two to add our room number requests. I also look forward to thanking you in person during our stay.

Can I just confirm my request for the room so I know I am not asking for something that doesnt exist...

Epcot side (can I say would prefer view of Eifel tower?) open balcony.

I would like to be able to see some of Illuminations from the room.

Thanks.
