Do all the standard BC rooms have 2 queen beds? I mean unless you request a king. Do the queen rooms have a daybed? Are the hair dryers those wimpy ones mounted on the wall? TIA

I thought they all had queen/king beds until our last trip in August.... our room had 2 double beds.

The queen rooms have either a daybed or a table/2 chairs from what I recall.

The double beds are gone. They all have either kings or queens. Some have daybeds, some don't.

I'm glad to hear this. DH and I discussed staying here after our next trip to Poly. I can't imagine sleping in a double bed for an entire vacation. We have a King at home so queen seems cozy enough for me! We LOVE Epcot and the Yacht Club/Beach Club really impressed us when we charted a boat last year.

Yes it does. It is so nice to go home with a suitcase full of clean cloths instead of dirty cloths. I loved having the washer and dryer. It also came in handy when we were soaked, from all the rain we had during our most recent stay. We put our sneakers in the dryer too!

Being a newbie to WDW (first trip 61 days YEAH) and having an obsessive indecisive personality I need HELP

My first problem, finding this thread I am planning our 2nd trip to WDW for Dec 2010. Got a 40% off pin and went for it. We also within that same month purchased BLT and added on AKV (kicking myself for not adding BC now but got a good deal on AK and maybe we can add on if they extend the contract ) sorry got off track.

I can not decide what to do for our Dec. trip. I know I want to stay at a monorail resort for at least 3 nights. I was originally planning GF RPC but then saw the lights and pics from MK views at BLT and changed it to GF/BLT. I thought that was a silly split because both MK resorts so decided on BW then just changed today to BC... so our stay is BLT 2 nights GF 2/3 nights BC 3/4 nights. After spending hours reading and looking at pics I am now more confused than ever!!!! I also sub to the GF thread and it has me hooked on the GF. Our upcoming trip is 4 days GF SL 4n/BLT 2 BR LV 3n/AKV 2 BR SV. (although I am calling MS in the morning to see if by some chance they have room at BC)

I can't decide if I should just keep it as is or go BLT 3 nights BC 5 nights. We are 5 traveling with DM 74 DD 7 and 8. We are northerns so we will swim when it is 72 or warmer LOL I am hoping to hit a few days of warmer weather in Dec to enjoy SAB because we will spend mainly evenings at the parks, days at the resort. I think staying at BLT and visiting GF for hours on end if need be LOL for our fix might be enough. It will be less for us to be at BC deluxe than the RPC room at GF and I think we would have more room at BC. Any thoughts? Input.... sanity that you can lend

Hi! I have been a DVC member and we have stayed at OKW, AKV and SS twice, but we have never been able to get into the BCV until now! We arrive in 16 days and I have a couple of questions:

At other DVC properties there are laundry rooms that are free of charge for DVC members. Is this the case at BCV as well?

Also, the Albatross Cruise? Have anyone's children done this cruise? Was is worth it???

I am doing the happy dance and I am so happy to escape the snow, even if I have to wear jeans in WDW!!!

My son did the pirate cruise from BC in 2008 and he LOVED it!!! I was also worried about him doing this without a parent (he was 5 1/2 at the time) but he did just fine. He was looking forward to it, listened to his instructions, and didn't tell me quite everything that was a 'secret' but my goodness, he talked so much about finding the treasure and all the fun he had. I had never heard him talk so much! If your child is interested in it and is looking forward to it, definitely send them!

Everyone is different so unfortunately, you really have to go with your gut. One person's 'favorite' resort was an ok resort for someone else. But if you really want opionions...I'm always happy to give mine

If it were me, I probably wouldn't do a split stay because I like a 'home base'. BUT if I were to do a split stay, I'd do a split with a monorail resort (I'm HUGE on the Poly but would love to try Contemporary. GF doesn't interest me though.) and a stay at an Epcot resort. And yes, I'd choose BC. But you knew that because you posted this on the BC thread Another thing I've figured out and if I can afford it, I will do it - get a one-bedroom villa or two room suite or something. My kids are getting old enough that they don't need to be babied. And my husband and I don't want to watch cartoons at night

Thank you for your opinion, it was very appreciated. The BEST turnout would be BLT/BCV if I could swing it. Then it would be points and I could get dining instead of the room only rate.
I was also thinking of calling MS and getting a quote on a cash room at BCV for that stay.

We are planning our trip for Dec 2010. Last couple of years we stayed at POFQ and we are thinking of staying at the Beach Club this year, but I don't know enough about the resort to make a room request.

I have mobility issues and can't walk far. At POFQ, I typically request a first floor room. What would you suggest I request for our December trip to the Beach Club.

- we have an epcot segway round the world scheduled at 9:30 AM - can we get in if we walk from BCV? if I remember from our stay at BWV the walkway took us over to the international gateway not the main entrance at EPCOT

any particular room choices we may want to request when we check in to our studio? (we have rented points for this trip)

After much too much deliberation, we have finalized our Sept 10 trip to stay in a 1br at the BCV! I am soooo excited

I also found dvcnews.com to be a great resource as far as seeing the layout of the resort and where specific room types are located. that is a great way to see where you want to request!

Breakfast is not available at Beaches & Cream. It was a test only during the summer.

Mugs are refillable at your resort only for the length of your stay. You can refill them at the pool area and at the Marketplace.

The International Gateway opens at exactly the same time as the front of Epcot. Therefore, on normal days (not early hours) it would be open at 9 AM and you can walk through and over to the main entrance to meet for your segway tour.

As far as room choices, it all depends what you want. Do you want a quiet room with less foot traffic in front of your door? Do you want a patio versus a balcony? Do you want close to the elevator? Everybody likes something different. I personally prefer close to the elevator and don't care about alot of noise outside my room (people walking by). However, we get lots of people that prefer to be far away from the elevator to get a real quiet room. When I visited WDW (before we moved there for good), I only spent time in my room to change my clothes, shower and sleep so I didn't care one bit what the view was because my drapes were always closed. I never spent time at the resort except to swim and I wasn't in the room then either. Everybody is obviously different in what they want. We have guests that don't go to the parks ... they just hang out at the resort and they spend lots of time in the room so the view is more important to them.

thanks for all the great info Teena! Bummed to hear about no more breakfast at B&C, but we will survive (esp since ti 15 degrees right now in NH) - we are really looking forward to our trip

It's such a shame that they stopped the breakfast at B&C.

We were there when they started the "trial run" and ate breakfast there twice! It was so convenient. I gave my opinion to guest services communication, and so did lots of other dissers. I wonder if they'll ever bring it back?

Perhaps request near the lobby due to mobility issues? That way you will be close to the bus stop, restaurants and shop. The floor shouldn't matter as long as you're close to an elevator. Have fun!

We are flying, so if we rent/buy what are the costs?

If I remember correctly the noodles were $4.00 to buy and the tubes were $10.00 to rent.
