Ok, I'm sure all of you can answer these.......

Our first full day at the Beach Club is Sunday, January 17th. I know the parks will be busy, because of MLK weekend. I have Cape May breakfast set for 7:35am (for 5 of us). I've been told Epcot is the best place to go as far as crowds that day. Here are the questions: Can we eat breakfast and walk to Epcot by the time they open? How long will it take us to get there from Cape May and how far from that point to Soarin?

Our plan is to ride Soarin, then get a fast pass for it and head over to Test Track. We'd like to hit the big rides and then just go with the flow for the day. Any advice? I can change our breakfast plans if it would be better to get to Epcot earlier.

We stayed at the BCV in Oct. The walk to Epcot's gate is less than 5 mins. That made me very partial to the BCV over the BWV. I would think with Cape May, that you'll get there right around when Epcot opens, if they are running on time. Many of the character meals we attended we running VERY late, unless you were in the 1st time slot.

From the back entrance of Epcot to Soarin is a hike. With kids in tow and NOT running (but walking fast) it took us a little over 10 mins. We entered from the back and had to haul to the Coral Reef for dinner one night. It took us almost 15 to run over there with 2 kids in tow. Soarin isnt quite so far. If you want to have a nice leisurely walk, I would allow 30 mins to get from Cape May to Soarin (assuming you have no bags and can bypass the bag check). It was never as bad back there as it is at the main entrance.

I apologize if this has been asked before...but need some quick help before booking. We are planning on booking the Beach Club (first time:goodvibes) for Aug 2010. My one concern is the pool. Is it true that is closes at 8:00pm? I know that other resort pools "close" at that time because there are no lifeguards but that you can still swim...somewhere I thought I read that you cannot swim in the pool at the Beach Club past a certain time because they do "officially" close the pool (NO swimming ) when there are no lifeguards. I am wondering how this works during the summer months? I know my kids will want to swim later at night in Aug after we return from the parks...If the pool does close that early, do they have a "quiet" pool for swimming that is available later in the night? TIA! :flower3:

I've heard you can bring your own rafts/noodles or rent/ buy them at the BC?

We are flying, so if we rent/buy what are the costs?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

The tubes were $10 to rent I believe. I did not see any noodles for sale/rent at all. We stopped at Walmart on our way to BC from the airport and bought some noodles for $2 each. Used them for our entire stay and then handed them off to new people as we left.

When we were there in October SAB was open until 10. It did close to everyone at that time. I would guess August would be the same or later. There are 2 other quiet pools that are open 24 hours. When we were there we swam in them nearly every night after the parks. It was record breaking heat that week and we needed to cool off after a long day at the parks. We were there as late as 1:30 one night and had no problems.

There are four pools at the Y&B. Stormalong Bay is the huge 3 acre pool that has set hours depending on the time of the year. When it is open, there are lifeguards. When it is closed, there are no lifeguards and it is really closed and nobody can go into the pool. There is a "quiet" pool by the BCV, another "quiet" pool by the BC and a third "quiet" pool by the YC. These "quiet" pools are available without a lifeguard to swim in at night after Stormalong Bay is closed.

DD8 decided over the holiday weekend to play "hotel." It was so cute, b/c she based everything she did off of the BC ;) She had games to play during the day, movies to watch, Disney trivia games, room service, and candy on our pillows in our "rooms!" Can't wait to be back in September (is it really 8 or so months away?!?)

Is there a "kiddie" pool???

My son loves water but he's only 3 and the kiddie pools are just easier for him to move around by himself. He doesn't understand why I have to hold him in the big pool.

There is a kiddie "pool" in the SAB area only. The quiet pools do not have one. But the kiddie area at SAB is great. It is really like a small lake with plenty of sand to play in. Your 3 year old will love it.

We did exactly that last Sept. had an early ADR at CM, (think it was at 8am?) then walked to Epcot. We went straight to Soarin from the International Gateway entrance. We walked in as the rope drop but EVERYONE going in from either entrance headed straight for Soarin. DH took DD on it, but even with the huge crowds all hearding that way they only waited maybe 10min. I kept the baby and got the FP for babyswap, but unfortunately my DD did not like it one bit and wouldn't go again! Poor me, it was something I really wanted to ride :( I made someone's day by handing them my FPs for it a bit later, the rest of the day lines for Soarin were 60 minutes!

Sorry, long story. Bfast at Cape May then heading to Epcot for the day is a great plan. We loved the proximity and it's a big reason we have decided to stay at the BC next trip!

If I remember correctly the noodles were $4.00 to buy and the tubes were $10.00 to rent.

This may be a silly question...Is the $10.00 tube rental for one day only? We are not going to have a car, and the weather will be questionable (Feb 6-13) at best!
Do they still do the pool games in Feb?

After 3 resort changes,(First chose CSR, then switched to AKL Club level [our usual favourite], now chose Beach Club with Deluxe Dining plan!....

I have finally nailed down and I am firm on my decision to stay at the Beach Club for our upcoming "Mom n' Son only" trip in August. MY "then" 14 yo son and I are travelling to the World Just the 2 of us August 21-28th, as our older family members (Dad and 17 yo son) have announced they are "all disney'd out!!" Oh well, the 2 of us will still have an amazing time in our favourite place :cool1:

I have heard the resort can sometimes be crazy with children running all over, and I would like to minimize the amount of "active energy" heard outside my room :lmao: What floor/room area would be a good general area to request?? I am thinking of putting higher floor, full balcony please as my request (realizing it is only a request/not a guarantee). Is any one area better than another for rooms? I would like to have easy access to the pool and restaurants as well.

I am very excited to be trying this new resort. Both my stays at Animal Kingdom Lodge have been phenomenal and magical :wizard:.... I am hoping the Beach Club steals my heart just as much as AKL did! :lovestruc

I will be a regular "peeker" and I am sure an "occasional poster" to this thread as I continue to plan for my trip in the upcoming months!

Thank you for the info! I know in Aug we will need that pool time every day and often at night. This is good news!

I had no idea there were 4 pools. Love the idea of swimming in a quiet pool at night!

Thank you for the information! Looks like we will be staying at the Beach Club for the first time in Aug! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I too am a waffler when it comes to resorts and plans.

I not only decided and nailed down Dec for 4 days at BC CL now, Villas maybe in 4 months but...

I just changed our Feb/Mar trip to BCV. :wizard: We were able to book BCV for 3 nights and then we are off to Vero Beach for the last 2.

Now to move around the park tours ... most of the dining reservations will still work.

Sorry, not very good on the whole thread search thing. Can anyone tell me what the current rental price is for tubes at the pool? Can you rent them for length of stay? Thanks in advance.

Just saw the answer to my question on the op ($10. per day - wow). Do they allow you to bring your own floats in?

I asked this same question awhile back and didn't get an answer. I have a vague recollection of hearing that you can only use clear or see-thru floats, which seems a little restrictive to me.

Can anyone please, please, please give us the straight goods!;) TIA!:goodvibes
