Okay, I have to post this here, 'cause it's really only Dis'ers that'll truly appreciate the "wow" factor. (Meant to post it sooner, but got busy with work.)

My DH and I snuck down for a last minute long weekend trip over Labour Day weekend. We splurged and booked BC, as I'd gotten a good PIN offer and was able to get a standard view room there at 40% off to make it worth the splurge. I was just thrilled with the PIN and the ability to stay at BC.

Magical Express dropped us off Thursday night at about 1am, and we walked through the totally empty lobby to the check-in desk. No line, obviously. I almost hit the floor when the CM said we'd been upgraded to a CL 1BR. Wow! That was some serious pixie dust!

We weren't on the same floor as the lounge, but way over on the third floor at the closest corner to Epcot. It was fabulous! Our balcony stretched along the side of the room, so most of it faced trees, but the end looked out over the lake. There were stairs right beside our door, so it was actually quicker to get to Epcot than it was to get to the lobby. Standing on the balcony, you could hear Off-Kilter, the Beatles band in England and the drummers in Japan...it felt like you were in the middle of Epcot practically!

Room was awesome, with a king size bed and a couch in the bedroom, and another couch in the living room area...two tv's...very nice sink area outside the bathroom...huge walk-in closet.

Stopped in at the lounge on occasion for snacks or drinks, and used the concierge there to print our boarding passes. Very convenient. It's tempting us to book club level again, which I guess is the point of upgrading people...

It was an absolutely wonderful trip. (Also got to meet Teena...waving hi!)

The only problem now is wanting to stay there every trip...

You're welcome. The last I read on this thread, there is also free WiFi in the lobby of the BC.....don't know about YC. Hopefully, Teena or someone else will know.

Hey all, I'm new to this thread so I apologize if this has already been asked. My family and I are planning on staying in a 2BR villa at the BC. There will be 8 of us in all, 6 being adults.

I noticed that in the 2BRs some of the 2nd bedrooms have 1 queen and a double sofa sleeper, and others have 2 queens. For our situation would would definitely want 2 queens.

What are the chances of getting one or the other? How many rooms have each setup?

There are 25 2 BRs with two queens in the second bedroom at BCV. All are dedicated 2 BRs. With Member Services, it is a separate booking category and apparently very popular. Be sure to specifically ask for the two queens as not all dedicated 2BRs have them.

Book as early as possible and good luck!

No business center at BC or BCV but there is one at the YC as well as at the Swolphin. The one at the YC has limited hours....I think it's closed to weekends. If anyone has a laptop, that will be a much cheaper alternative. I think the business center is something like $10/hour.

We heard about the offer we used from a post in the Rates & Codes sub-forum here on the DIS. It was a general public offer. There's ones right now (details either on the WDW website or on Mousesavers) that give about 30% off regular rooms and 40% off club level if you book by Oct. 31, for example.

If you sign up for the planning DVD, email updates and newsletters, things like that, on the WDW website, you may also get a personal code or offer.

Unless you're travelling at a peak time or a major holiday, there's almost always an offer of some kind available...you just have to hunt a bit for them sometimes...

Ok - weird question. We have 2 rooms booked at the BC in December. We are treating members of my family to the BC and they have their own room. Usually on the last morning they hang an envelope on the door with the bill inside. Now, I don't want the people in the other room seeing the bill. So, is it possible to ask at check-in NOT to put the envelope on the door? Even if we ask at check-in, I'm afraid they won't remember or follow thru with our request. Any other suggestions?

I've never had my bill hung on the door, it's always been slid underneath. I guess I would ask that they make sure to put bill under the door of room #xxx which is the one you are staying in. Explain and I am sure they will add something to the ressie.

We did not allow room charging privileges on our Keys to the World Card, and simply carried our credit cards with us. We never received an envelope with our bill on our check-out morning, probably since there was no balance on the room. Just make sure to let front desk know that you don;t want charging privileges and your guests should not receive a bill.

BTW, I need more family members like you!

A room will only get a bill if someone charges something back to that room. If there is no charge card given for that room for charging privileges, there won't be a bill.

If you want your credit card on their room so that anything they charge will go to your credit card, that can be done but unfortunately that bill will go to the room number.

The person that delivers the bills does it very early in the morning. Putting comments on the reservation will most likely not work since the person that delivers the bills doesn't go into a reservation and read all the comments ... the bills are printed out, put in envelopes and delivered. If you go down to the front desk around 11 PM or midnight the night before you are leaving and ask to speak to one of the CMs that is working the overnight shift - don't talk to one of the CMs that is leaving at 1 PM - specifically ask to speak to one of the CMs that is working overnight (they print out the bills) and talk to them, they will most likely be able to assure you it won't be delivered ... in fact they probably can give you the bill then and there. Calling the front desk at 11 PM or midnight isn't the same thing - that most likely won't work ... you need to speak to the CM in person to be 100% sure!! That is how I would handle it if it were me.

First off, only doing a one-night stay in between Pop and ASMovies - we like to move around a bit, and try one night new at somewhere else nicer each trip.


BC we'd be a standard room.... how bad are the views and any suggestions for requests? Ground floor is always best for us... but wonder what the views will be with standard.
and also... hate to admit it... but smoker and would want to be able to leave room and easily access a smoking area.
Any suggestions?

Update - just switched our one night in November from POFQ to BC! Woohoo! - so now really need suggestions for a room/area request!

The staff I encountered were all super friendly. One guy at the BC Marketplace in particular was really nice. I missed his name but he was an older gentleman and I remember his name tag said he was from MN. Super friendly and made me laugh a lot! I saw Art but didn't get a chance to talk with him and unfortunately I missed Teena. I stopped in the lobby around noon on Monday, the 5th but there was another guy working as the greeter (not Art). I wonder if Teena may have been on a lunch break??? Very sorry I missed her.

Curious question for Teena: Is room 1602 a 2-Queen w/ Daybed room? The beds seemed smaller than Queens and the couch thing didn't really seem like a daybed, at least like the Poly and CR has. We were fine in the 2 beds, a little crowded but we were all so tired each night it didn't matter! LOL! Didn't bother us enough to spend time to ask and possibly move. Just thought for sure we'd have a 2-Q w/ DB since we had 2 adults and 3 children. My only room request was upper floor w/balcony and we got a main floor but it ended up being a good location and not a problem.

Wish I could go back soon! I highly recommend the BC!

I worked October 5th as greeter at the Beach Club. There wasn't another greeter there that day. There is normally a manager walking around in the lobby and bell service CMs. I work 8:30 to 4:45 but have two breaks throughout the day and one of them is 11:45 to 12:15 so I was probably at lunch. I was off on the 12th (Monday) on a cruise.

Anyway, last week I was told they switched out all double beds in the resort - YIPPEEEE. As far as room 1602, without actually walking into that room, I wouldn't know what was in there bedwise for sure when you were there. I know 1606 had queens (because that's one of my most favorite rooms in the whole resort). Anyway, since I was told there are no more double beds at the resort as of last week, that means there are queens in there for sure now. As far as a daybed, there are two different kinds of daybeds at the Y&B. The older one (some were replaced last year) is good for a child or small teenager. The newer ones are large enough for an adult. If there was a daybed in the room, I would pretty much be sure they were queen beds and not double beds when you were here though. The double beds were in the smaller rooms, and smaller rooms wouldn't have room for a daybed.

I would request a first floor room and a standard room on the first floor will most likely face a courtyard or a wooded area. The two closest smoking areas (you cannot smoke on the patio) are (1) an area in the walkway between the Villas and the BC and (2) at the end of the hallway by Cape May Cafe. Therefore, your best bet is to request a room close to the lobby and that way you would be fairly close to either of those smoking areas.

And, thanks to Teena! Dh will be the only one with charging privileges (no kids - just dh and myself) as he is the one that always signs when we charge things to the room. Hopefully that and speaking to the front desk will work.

Teena, you probably don't remember us but dh and I met you in June. We stayed at the BC and went to the Epcot pin trading event. I think we talked to you about dh being from Pittsburgh/Neville Island. Thanks again for the quick response.

I can't wait to be at the BC again. My family is meeting us there from New Orleans and I can't wait for them to see the BC and all the Christmas decorations.
