If concierge is unavailable do they ever have cancellations?

Has anyone ever been able to upgrade at port when concierge was sold out before cruise? Meaning, what are the chances people cancel? Cheers!

Im sure its happened before at some point but ive never been that lucky. Last minute cancellations aren’t super common. You can be put on the waitlist for a concierge room if there’s none available when you book or you decide at a later date you want to upgrade prior to embarkation day. But when a concierge room becomes available they send out an email to everyone on the waitlist and it’s first come first served. Never been successful doing that either.

It's very rare since you would lose all your money and concierge is expensive (understanding there are covered reasons with insurance). We did pick up a 1BR on a last-minute cruise out of NYC when concierge had been fully booked, but that was because weather stopped people from getting in from the middle of the country and west coast.
