I just finished packing. Now I've got the rest of the day and tomorrow to do some cleaning and off we go Saturday morning to the Disney Magic!!

WOOT! Rest and then go have yourself some fun---I know it'll be awesome. :cool1: Hopefully we'll see you in a few weeks & get to hear in person all about your cruise. (I wanna go on a cruise...someday...):cloud9:

I'll be working also on Monday so perhaps we can meet then. Art will be working the other five days. I don't know Arnie - he's a busboy at what restaurant? There's no Mr. Baxter at the front desk that I know of and I've been there about 5-1/2 years. We all go by first names anyway. Nobody really knows anybody's last names.

Have a safe trip in and I hope I get to meet you on Monday!

Have a fabulous trip!!!!

Has anyone ever had an in-room cake delievered? I'm looking for a christmas themed/hoilday themed cake for our visit in Dec. We aren't on a DDP so I'm thinking an in-room cake might be nice to snack on after a day in the parks.

Does anyone know if they can make special holiday cakes? I've gotten birthday/mothers day ones before at WL and CSR and they have been standard ones with writing but I'm looking to "plus it!". We aren't eating at any GF restaurants and will not have a car is that helps.

Thanks!!!

Just got back last night from 5 days at the Beach Club for a convention that I attended.

I had a room on the 4th floor facing the front of the building. They are currently doing a bunch of painting around the outside of the property and they started at about 4:30 am, as far as I can tell, the last two nights that I was there. How do I know? Well they had a scaffolding machine-thing that has an insanely loud motor that they were using to put the painters as close to the roof in the portico as possible. Thus ending my slumber about the time when they started.

That sucked. for two nights in a row.

Other than that, nice room, nice staff, nice pool.

I will post some pictures when I get them downloaded.

rejoining this thread, took some time out as we had to cancel our upcoming trip due to medical :( (was meant to be at BC 9/28- 10/18) but finally got sorted and doing a split stay Poly and BC next October, so I can come back and enjoy more time reading up on BC and planning again.

Sorry to hear about the medical issue, I hope everything is ok! At least you were able to reschedule and can look forward to an upcoming trip :goodvibes

WoW!!! That is a beautiful view and with water too! You say you booked standard but I def don't see parking lots & rooftops. Were you upgraded to this view?

That is a really amazing view! I don't see why it's a standard view room! You really got lucky there!:)

We returned from the World on Monday. SAB was fabulous!! We met Teena & Art who were both as special as expected.

I hesitated to post this but...we just did not enjoy BCV. After 5 nites, I finally BEGGED to switch resorts :sad1: I know everyone enjoys BC/YC but we just did not...I spent at least 5 hours at the front desk during my stay---totally not what I expected to be doing. I have never had a complaint or spent time at the front desk for problems with another Disney resort (All Stars or VWL) . Our room was left partially cleaned 2 days (we booked with Disney, not on points), transportation to MK and Downtown Disney was HORRIBLE--45-60 mins to MK and the whopper was 1 hour 15 mins from Downtown Disney :scared1: Mind you this was actually on the bus, not waiting for the bus. All Stars had much better bus service....& lastly it seemed like the CMs just had no idea about the resort or Disney in general. (I heard a concierge CM telling people that MK was closing at 7pm on Saturday for Night of Joy---uumm Night of Joy is at DHS & MK was open until 10pm. At first I thought she just mis-spoke but she went into great detail about what they could do at other parks including DHS)

I hope everyone has a much better experience than we did, :wizard: I know many people love BC/YC but we will stick with WL!

We love WL too  that is why we are doing a split stay for our upcoming trip. We didn't think we could visit Disney without staying at the WL but at the same time wanted to give an EPCOT resort a try too. I am excited to experience what it is like there - I think it will be fun to see SAB and be that close to EPCOT.

I am a letterwriter, I would write a letter to Disney about your experience(s).

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay Ltl Engine. That is exactly why we always rent a car no matter what resort we are at. Bus service can be hit or miss at any resort. We just do not have the patience for the buses and like to be in control.

I admit I did not do my research very well. Last week, on a spur of the moment decision, I decided to go to Disney for Columbus Day week. It will be our first trip to Disney.

So I booked the Beach Club instead of the Caribbean beach because I wanted queen size beds and a balcony. Reading through this thread I see that not all rooms at Beach Club have queen size beds, and not all have balconies. Will someone be very kind and tell me how to contact BC to put in a request. And how specific do I need to make the request? Will saying balcony and queen-size beds be enough?

Also, do all rooms have mini-fridge? Are the full of items for purchase, or is it empty and will fit milk, yogurt, etc.?

This question may not belong here but if I'm renting points for BCV, how can I ask for 2 queen beds in 2nd bedroom of 2-bedroom villa? I'm contemplating staying at BCV instead of BWV next year and like the idea of 2 queen beds. Also can you request a pool view room or waterview room if you rent points? I helped my DBFF's daughter with her ressies last August but I booked her direct thru Disney and she got a beautiful view of Stormalong Bay. My worry is I'll sacrifice the view that I got w/BWV boardwalk view by staying at BCV and get not-such-a-great view.

Does anyone know if they have finished the remodel of bc cl? We will be there in a little more than 2 weeks and are hoping it will be finished before we get there.

Today they started the renovations of the first floor of the Yacht Club. We are on the third floor in a newly renovated room and it is just beautiful!

Cool - thanks for posting the update! I can't hardly wait for my trip :santa:

Thanks for all the great info. First trip to bcv and Disney for me, dh, dd(almost 2), and her grandma. Staying in 1 bdrm starting 11/11/09-11/16/09.
Anyway I'm not sure we'll use our snack credits on ddp. What is available near beach club for snack credits. Anything that might work for breakfast?

Also I have a conference a few mornings at bw inn. How far is the walk over there? And of course any other helpful first timer hints!
