YC and BC are pretty much one resort. Also, YC also has a quiet pool, if it makes any difference. I"m not remembering a spa next to it though if that's what you mean. The hot tub at SAB is inside the gate, so when the pool is closed, so is the hot tub.

There is a hot tub next to the quiet pool at BC.

That would be great ... I'd love to meet you.

On Monday they were still working in the CL lounge. Since it is behind schedule, they set up a temporary lounge in the Presidental Suite - WOW it's super nice!! One of the managers told me they thought the real lounge would be done this week but another told me they had no idea when it was going to be completed. So, I'll check it out on Sunday when I'm there.

We'll be there in 27 days!! Can't wait to see/read how the lounge turns out.

We just returned from a Poly/BC split stay. While I really enjoyed the Poly, I LOVE LOVE LOVED the Beach Club. It was an awesome trip. I know where we will be staying from now on! :lovestruc

Teena,

I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I was so glad to meet you when we were at the Beach Club last week. My son Sam and I met you on Monday the 31st (I think?) He traded one of his pins for your "hidden" pin.

I am only back for 8 days and am already planning our next trip!! Can't decide whether to do a night at WDW and then that the 3 night cruise or spend all 4 nights there. I guess there are much worse decisions to be made!!!

I hope that things are going well with your daughters class. I told my family about the new student that hadn't been to school and had been dropped off at a gas station. He was so compassionate about her and after we assured him we wouldn't ever do that to him he compared her to Louis from Meet the Robinsons. Which I thought was so sweet and he imaged that great things could happen to her. I bet he would like to do something nice for her. If there is something you think he could do PM me and we could send something via your daughter.

I look forward to seeing you again someday!!

Warmest regards,
Lois

Decisions, decisions. If I had only 4 days, I think I'd pick WDW for all 4 days. I think the 3 day cruise is too short. You just get on the ship and settled into the routine and it's time to get off.

It was great meeting you and your son!!!

That's so sweet! My daughter and her class are all doing really really good. It's hard to do something for just one of the kids but that's so nice of you to offer. Jeanne (my daughter) has the class thinking of itself as one big family, her included. She explains to them that her parents and real family live 3000 miles away and therefore they need to be her family now. It works really well and the children that don't have a real family now are part of one big family. She says the foster children are all doing well in their new foster homes and adapting to their new lives. I think the one little boy that hit me the hardest happened last year. He was a "drop off" and for so many days he didn't even participate or speak or anything in the class. But even though now he is in 3rd grade, he comes back to see my daughter before going to his new class every morning. He still feels he is part of her family. He wanted to talk to me the other day and Jeanne got me on the phone so I could talk to him. He's doing really really good. I just went to our Disney cast store today and purchased a load of stuff for the classroom for the "Classroom Disney Store" that she has in her classroom. I'm heading out again in November and will take it all out. Thank goodness for Southwest Airlines and the fact that they don't charge for suitcases!

I look forward to seeing you again and trading pins with your son!!

Anybody know how late Hurricane Hanna's and/or the BC Marketplace are open? I am looking to use a quick service dining credit after we return from DHS one night. It will be 9:30-10ish. Anything for CS at the Boardwalk open at that time?

It looks like I will have 2 CS credits (for all 5 of us) going unused for my week and I hate to waste any! Sure do wish they had a CS breakfast. We need to leave the BC on the ME probably around 8 am so don't have time to travel around for breakfast. I hate to eat at the airport and pay when I have 2 CS unused KWIM!

I know in the summer Hurricane Hannah's was usually open to 8 and BC Marketplace was open until 11:00.

In the morning BC Marketplace had a few cs breakfast options.

Teena,

We are new to DVC and have booked a weeklong trip for spring break in March at BCV in a one bedroom. Any suggestions for rooms requests? Views? I plan to call in the morning with a request, but I don't know what to request at this point since we have never been there. I am traveling with my family, DH and two DS's (ages 4 & 8). Thanks!

Linda

Hi Linda,
I'm going to be totally honest. BCV is almost always 100% booked and therefore probably only a small number of 1 bedrooms will be vacated on the day you check in. That means your choices will be very limited. Since you have two young ones, if it were me, the only request I would put in is close to the main elevators. That means you would be closest to the BC and thus SAB and also the entrance to Epcot, thus less walking. And don't be upset if you don't get what you request. We try hard to fill your requests, but lots of times, we just don't have available what you requested on the day you check in. Unfortunately the BCV besides always being full is also pretty darn small and that also hinders the requests being met.

We are back from our week at the BC. We arrived at 11am 8/22 and our room was ready. We were in 2585 on the 2nd floor. I booked a standard view with no special requests. We had a full, almost double sized balacony. (We were in a corner.) The people above had a tiny balcony. I'd heard they were small, I was amazed at just how small they actually are! We also had a beautiful view of the lighthouse, Jellyrolls, Swan/Dolphin, etc. It was so peaceful and pretty. We spend alot of time here reading, drinking coffee, enjoying the view....:thumbsup2

When I checked in, he told me "2 Queen beds". Those beds were not queens, they were doubles. I have a Queen at home, so I know exactly how big a queen is. Now, it was just my dd and I so I didn't mind the doubles, however, they should not have told me they were Queens.:sad2: Even my dd said "man, these beds are small".

The size of the room was about the same (if not smaller since those resorts had actual Queens) as those we had at WL and AKL. I'd heard the BC rooms were bigger, but our's was not. We also didn't have a daybed.

We were comfortable. The resort is beautiful. The pool is beautiful. My dd did not like the slide since it was covered much of the way. We did not have long waits for the buses. Coming home on them was hard as often we didn't get seats & the BC was the 4th stop. Paying so much money to stay here and then having 5 large resorts share buses is just wrong.:sad2:

Wow, we were literally right next door to you in 2583! We checked in 8/16 and left 8/23. We did have two queen beds and a daybed in our room, and it appears to be larger than yours from this map. That view was amazing, wasn't it! I couldn't believe our luck in getting both a full balcony and a view of the lagoon and lighthouse as a standard view. I honestly thought we had been upgraded to a water view without them telling me! :thumbsup2

I am surprised to hear you had four stops on the bus. Where were you going to/coming from? We had a rental car, but we used the bus to go to the MK and we only shared with the YC. The BC was the second stop on that bus. I have read that the bus to AK only shares with the YC as well.

Sounds like your stay was a little disappointing - sorry about that! We've stayed three times at the WL, and that is a beautiful resort, but the BC is our new favorite.

What a small world! We did have a wonderful time and LOVED the view. Coming home on the bus it was: Dolphin, Swan, YC, BC, BWI.

Hi there!

In exactly one week from today, we will be at the BCV...I cannot wait! This is our second stay there and we are NUTS about the place!

Quick question...I know they redid many of the studios....tell me about the coffee makers. I seem to remember that they are the kind that take the little bag of coffee. In years prior, when staying at WDW, we always took coffee and small filters with us and we like doing that. But I seem to remember many of the rooms at certain resorts only had the kind of coffee makers that took the bag of coffee.

Is this the case at BCV? I cannot remember how it was last year, and I am wondering if the refurbished rooms are the same, different, whatever.

Thanks!

Off to the Beach Club a week from Thursday!! :woohoo:

A couple of very random questions - and apologies if they have been previously addressed.

How are/where are laundry facilities at Beach Club?

Turn-down service - only for Club level or can you request for "regular" rooms?

Any other favorite BC tips you'd like to share? Thanks!! :)

Hi! There is a laundry "building" right next to the quiet pool at the BC -- very convenient!:) You can request turndown service for any room, it's just not guaranteed unless you stay club level. I would say we've had about a 50/50 chance of it when we haven't stayed CL, so it's definitely worth asking for if it is something you really want.:goodvibes If you have the time, relax in one of the rocking chairs overlooking SAB and the lagoon -- they are really nice. And don't miss out on the pool -- it's fantastic! And it's worth all those stairs to go down the slide!;)

I have a bad back. LOVED the BWI mattresses. I know the YC mattresses were not replaced in this last soft rehab - so anyone that stayed recently - how were they?

LOVED the YC mattresses when we were there in 2007, loved them just as much last month.:flower3:

Tiggersmyguy - could you feel the mattress conform to your back? Like was it soft to sit on or more firm?

I loved the mattress when we stayed at the BC in June. Does anyone know what the brand is there? I would love to buy one. Thanks
