We are staying in a 2 bedroom BCV in Feb, and I was wondering about the second bedroom. Everything I have seen so far says the one bedroom is a king and the sencond bedroom is a queen & a sleeper. The site parkinginfo2go says there are certain rooms that have 2 queens? Does this mean there are rooms that have two queens in one room and not a queen and a sleeper? Can I request a 2 bed villa with these types of beds?

This is our first BCV stay so any pointers on room requests will be helpful!

Thanks-:thumbsup2

Well, darn! Teena, I've been looking forward to getting to meet you, but we arrive on Tuesday, the 16th, and leave on Saturday the 26th, so it looks like we'll just be missing you on both our arrival and departure days :sad2: LMK if your schedule changes...I would still love to meet you in person, if I can! If not, hope you have a great cruise with Bob! Maybe next year...

Darn, I'm sorry I'll miss you too! Hope you have a super magical stay with us!

Hello Teena! Kinda new to the Dis board & 1st visit to Disney for our family (myself, DH & two DS ages 10 and 12). We'll be at BC from the 2-10th of Oct so maybe you'll be working when we're there. :) We're all looking forward to our trip and my boys are lovin' the looks of SAB!!!:goodvibes

Yep, I'll be there in the lobby on the 4th and 5th and look forward to meeting you. Your boys will definitely love SAB. The only complaint I get about SAB is from the parents. The kids don't want to go anywhere but SAB and the parents obviously want to visit the parks. See you soon!

hi, i'm not sure if you would know this, teena, as you work at the beach club, but does the yacht club also have some double beds or are they all queens? tia

As far as I know, they are all queens (and a few kings) over at the YC. Before I was in the lobby, I did runner shifts every once in a while and I think I've been in almost every room at the BCV, YC and BC and I don't ever remember seeing any at the YC.

Teena,
We might stop at Epcot on 10/2. It's strange that i am three weeks away from our trip and I do not have our days planned yet. Only where we are eating dinner at night, and none of the TS meals in the parks so that will give us the freedom to wing it based on weather. The only thing I have planned is Halloween Horror Nights at Universal 10/1. I do want to go to Epcot 9/30 and do the booths for lunch.

My husband always enjoys the Lobster Roll which is at Hops & Barley.
I have some pics and reviews from my review thread from last year:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1999114&highlight=Dining+Review
That thread reminds me to make sure I make time to get my nails done before we go.

Some stuff is the same, but I am sad to see that the soup from Spain is not there this year. I loved it. But there will be new things to try.

If I have time, I will post reviews of the booths we visited on the 30th. Or maybe I will stop by and see you and give you a report in person. :)

I agree with you on the Lobster Roll - it's one of my favorites year after year. I also like the crab cake there too. We usually hit F&W the day it opens but we're being good this year and waiting for our best buddies to get here and do it with them on the 2nd.

Speaking of bad nails, does the Beauty Salon do manicures? maybe I should just wait until arrival.

You're a stronger person than I am holding out that long to hit F&W. :) It was so great being at the BCV last year and just walking over to Epcot.

Pretty sure they do. I remember a woman asking me a few months ago where the salon was ... she said she was getting her nails done.

Hi Teena-
I saw in one of your last posts that you said you had been in almost all of the BCV rooms. Any suggestions for us?

BTW I also taught in a high poverty school for 10 years. Loved every minute! I feel I was lucky to have this experience. Your daughter is lucky to have your help. :goodvibes

Sorry about asking this question again, but I'm getting conflicting info.

I have a water view room booked at YC. Do all of these rooms have daybeds, or do I have to request one?

I've read that all of the water view rooms DO have a daybeds at YC, but not at BC.

Hi Teena! I was hoping you might have the answer to this question.:goodvibes

Thanks!

Yes, there are different types of two bedrooms and each one has a different "code". I believe there are about four or five different types (bedding types/lock-offs/etc.) As to which one you get, it all depends on what you have booked through member services. If you want a specific type of two bedroom, you have to have that particular type of unit reserved through member services and that particular code must be assigned to your reservation.

However, if you are a renter (paying for the room with money and not points), you can certainly put in a room request for the type of two bedroom unit you want but it's going to be a real long shot that you get it. The BCV are small and are normally 100% occupied. Therefore, to get the unit you want, one of the few units like you want would have to be vacated on the day you are checking in and not reserved by a member.

If you are a member, sometimes they (member services) will tell you that the front desk/back office can move you to whichever two bedroom unit we want to. That is true but ONLY if there is one free that is not reserved. Since the BCV is almost always 100% reserved, you need to make sure member services has you reserved in the EXACT two bedroom unit type that you want. We can't move you to the one you want if you are reserved in another one if all of those that you want are reserved for other members. When you are talking about Old Key West or one of the larger vacation clubs, it isn't that big of a deal as far as getting on your reservation the exact code of the exact type of unit you want because they are not usually 100% booked. It's different at the BCV. So, stand your ground and tell member services which two bedroom unit you want and tell them you must have that exact type of unit code on your reservation. If you want a DQ and you have a DL on your reservation, you are going to get a DL, not the DQ you want, unless we are not sold out in DQ's. This rarely happens!! (DQ and DL are not the actual codes, they are only an example of how the units are booked.) Our hands are tied in the Villas - members and the resort are ruled by the member contracts. It's not like a regular resort where we can upgrade you, move you around, change your rooms, etc. And at the BCV, it is small and almost always 100% occupied which ties our hands even more.

It's all rather confusing and I hope I didn't confuse you. Perhaps another member can explain it better.

Hi Teena! I was hoping you might have the answer to this question.:goodvibes

Thanks!

You need to request one on your reservation. When you check-in, you should ask at check-in also if you have a daybed. Don't wait to get to your room and then come back and ask for a room change.

I'll try to add a bit of info to Teena's great info. Supposedly, there are only 25 two bedrooms at BCV that have two queens in the second bedroom. They are all dedicated 2 BRs which means that there is not a door to the hallway from the 2 BR and I believe there is also no kitchenette in the 2nd BR. As Teena said, it is a separate category and must be specifically booked. I have the impression that there is great demand for this category.

There are also dedicated 2 BRs with a queen and sofa sleeper.

Finally, there are lockoff 2 BRs all of which have a queen and sofa sleeper. Some of there two BRs are accessible which may be another category but for sure is something that needs to be reserved if you need it.

Hope that helps a bit. Have fun...we love BCV and fully understand why it stays so close to 100% occupancy.

Speaking of bad nails, does the Beauty Salon do manicures? maybe I should just wait until arrival.

I can confirm that Periwigs does manicures/pedicures. My DD and I have both had our nails done there on occasion.

Having looked at almost all the whole thread (63 pages!) I now feel well prepared for our upcoming trip!:beach:pixiedust:
Have to say I am so thankful to Teena :worship:for taking her time to answer so many questions!:disrocks::thanks:
