Thanks for the info. These were great explinations.
We are staying on a trade through RCI. I called member services and they were nice but said I needed to call RCI to get the room type changed. When I tried that the girl had no idea what I was asking for. All she kept saying was "you are lucky to have anything..." which just made me angry. Knowing as much as I do about BCV I KNOW we are lucky...she didn't need to keep repeating this to make up for her lack of knowledge...:headache:Sorry about the ranting...
Thanks again for your knowledge. I love reading about BC!

Any ideas on BC activities for the first week of Feb?

Teena so good to have you back! I don't know what I would have done without the wealth of knowledge you've provided!

I couldn't agree more about the "dry heat" my IL's live in Phoenix and I hate it there! An oven is dry heat too but I'm not climbing in one! LOL! In the dry heat I don't sweat so I just feel like I'm baking from the inside, at least with the humidity the sweat gives you some relief.

I hope we can meet when I'm there 10/2-10/11.

Thanks ... see you on Sunday and Monday!!!!! I agree about the oven! That's exactly what it feels like some days. You know when you lean over go get something out of the oven and that dry hot blast hits your face, well, that's what it feels like when you are walking out there in Vegas during the summer.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! (Just a squeal of excitment.) Less than four weeks until we're at BC. I swear, I think I am more excited about this trip than my two dds(7 and 5.) And I honestly think that I've done more planning for this trip than I ever did for my wedding. I want to savor every moment while I'm down there...it will be such a treat to stay at BC.

Okay...back to work now....

Regina

It's my B-day on Monday the 5th so it'll make my B-day special to meet you!:goodvibes

You are living the life I hope to have in retirement!:thumbsup2

New question has popped into my mind as I work on planning my meals for the week.

We will arrive at the BC using ME probably around 11-11:30 at night. Will there be anywhere within walking distance that we can get something to eat? Preferably a CS meal? Should we grab something at the airport before we get on the ME bus? :confused3

We are staying at Yacht Club at the end of April/1st of May 2010. I have read all the rooms are being reno'd right now and are expected to be done this year. Are they rehabing more than the rooms - ie the lobby? Wondering if everything will be done by next Spring.

Thanks for any help you can offer...

Just the rooms and the hallways are being done and are almost completed.

You need to request one on your reservation. When you check-in, you should ask at check-in also if you have a daybed. Don't wait to get to your room and then come back and ask for a room change.

Thanks Teena!:thumbsup2

I received two phone calls this past weekend from Disney reguarding my second letter to the Beach Club Manager reguarding the quick service breakfast being discontinued from Beaches and Cream. They assured me that my letter and concerns were forward to the general manager and that they were sorry that I was upset about the situation. They also reminded me about Beach Club Marketplace as an alternative for breakfast. They also left their phone number for me to call if I had any further concerns. I'm very glad that they are responding but the also mentioned that indeed it was just a trial and the breafast counter service was indeed not going to be continued in the forsesable future.

My question to them then is "A trial for what? To see if it was needed? Yes, it was! To see if we liked it? Yes, we did! If they didn't have any intention of continuing it, then why a trial at all? That doesn't make sense to me. They certainly don't have any of the "real" breakfast items at the Marketplace. They aren't serving pancakes or scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, as a quick service anywhere else nearby. So why even do the 'trial'?"

You tell 'em, Tina! You're exactly right! If it was a trial that worked, stick with it! What do the CM's at B&C think? Did they mind the b'fast, or was it a royal pain for them to do, and then be ready on time for lunch? We own a restaurant that serves b'fast and lunch, and I know it can be challenging at the switchover time. As much as the public enjoyed it, maybe it was a logistical nightmare :confused3 I do think, though, that they ought to figure out a way to have more choices at BC for quick-service b'fast.

Picabu's at the Swolphin is open 24 hours last I knew although I think the grill closes earlier. Nothing at the Y&BC except room service which would be my choice at that hour.

Actually if it were me, I'd plan on eating on the plane. You could buy sandwiches at the airport or pack your own. It helps pass the time and then you can unpack, hit the sack and start enjoying WDW first thing in the am.

If you are staying at YC, are you able to go to the quiet pool at BC (facing BW) and use the pool and spa? Is it key card access? We're arriving pretty late but would like to check out the spa assuming it's cold for DEC.

TIA

YC and BC are pretty much one resort. Also, YC also has a quiet pool, if it makes any difference. I"m not remembering a spa next to it though if that's what you mean. The hot tub at SAB is inside the gate, so when the pool is closed, so is the hot tub.

Just wanted to say we check in to BC on 9/27, so maybe my gf and I will stop by to say hello, since you've been so helpful answering questions that I've had.

Btw, do you know if the CL at BC is finished being remodeled/expanded? And if so, have you seen how it looks now?

That would be great ... I'd love to meet you.

On Monday they were still working in the CL lounge. Since it is behind schedule, they set up a temporary lounge in the Presidental Suite - WOW it's super nice!! One of the managers told me they thought the real lounge would be done this week but another told me they had no idea when it was going to be completed. So, I'll check it out on Sunday when I'm there.

Can't wait to see what the new lounge looks like! We really liked the CL at the BC, but I think it will be much, much better with a larger space for the lounge.:goodvibes
