I have always loved staying at the YC, but this time things were out of whack, I have such a stronge admiration for the property from prevoius visits I hate to report this negative stuff.

Very dirty room was my biggest issue. I found a prevoius guests sock lying next to my bed, and a small yelow sticky goo like melted candy next to my bed. My sheets were never changed even though we stayed 7 nights, my floor was not vacummed ever and even though I put soiled towels in the tub to be changed out they were hung back up by hosekeeper. Also the quiet pool area had multitude of problems, including pot smoking guests, cockroaches, mildew, and snails. Stormalong pool had way too many ducks swimming around trying to eat our snacks. The hallway had a huge hole in the wall. The woman in the room adjacant to us would chain smoke on her balacany at night. The airconditioner leeked water so we could not place our things anywhere near there. Someone put a roomservice tray outside my doorway and it sat there for over 8 hours. Roomservice trays outside of rooms was the norm everywhere we walked.

Did you let management know of all these problems while you were staying there? I can't imagine they wouldn't have tried to make things right.

Can anyone tell me if there are any plans to bring back Chip and Dale for the character breakfast at Cape May? They are my mom's absolute favorite, and we don't have time to fit Garden Grill into our plans since our upcoming trip is short, but I would love to surprise her with meeting them...

Haven't heard anything about them coming back to Cape May, but if you're planning to squeeze in a character b'fast, Chip and Dale are at Chef Mickey's at the CR during b'fast and dinner.

maggiew - GREAT PICS thanks for sharing! Nice view, even though no daybed, awesome view. Did you love the CL?

Regarding International Gateway entrance - rumor has it the entrance will soon be opening before actual opening time to give guests a chance to "catch up" with guests entering from main entrance, also giving the IG entrance guests a chance to enjoy the opening show close to Innoventions and the Character Spot. Hope to hear this happening soon, it is a great idea!

When we were there in June they let us go in a few minutes early from IG with two cast members leading the way. We met up with the people from the main entrance being led in by two cast members.

Thanks for the suggestion, it is our fallback plan. DS routinely asks us to sleep with him on vacation, but then literally kicks us out of bed. We are thinking of taking a twin aerobed (if we have the luggage space) since we will have bedding issues at Vero Beach as well. Just as long as DH or I does not end up on the floor it will all work out. :rotfl2:

LOL, sorry, it just sounds really familiar... :rotfl: I feel your pain, my DS is a tremendous kicker and blanket thief! DD is a chatterbox and major bed hog. I really think everything will work out just fine and I bet the kids will be too tired to even blink at night ;) The Aerobed is a good idea too, they are actually pretty comfortable. Have a great trip!

Leaving for the YC in 2 weeks.:banana:We are booked in a std room. Does anyone know if they've updated any of the std rooms yet? Just wondering if I should put in a request for one. Thanks:flower3:

I would be really interested to find out what room you get and what view. We are coming over from the UK end of September staying at the Yacht club for 14 nights. The standard view room was all that was available. ( saying that CL would have been very expensive for 2 weeks )

Hi

We stayed in a Standard room for 2 weeks in 2007. Excellent room overlooking the quiet pool. Liked it so much we're going back in two weeks time (from UK) to re-live the magic  I'm sure you'll have a good time. :thumbsup2

Hopefully someone can help me.

We arrive at AKV on 8/13 & celebrate DD's 11 B-day on 8/15.

We move to BCV (I can NEVER just do 1 resort:rotfl2:) on 8/17. I would like to have something special for DS in the room when we check in to celebrate his entering HS this September. He had a VERY rough MS experience (bullies) & 8th grade his grades dropped & it was just not a good year. He has had a rebuilding summer & I want to do a little something special for him that does not take away from DD's B-day. Does anyone know how I can set up having a box of the yummy shortbread shorts (his :cloud9: cookies) in the room with a card that says congrats when we check in?

I do not want to take away from DD's B-day, but he needs something b/c he is very nervous about HS.

Yes they are still working on YC standard room.s Club (5th floor done). I heard 4th floor was done and they are on the 3rd...That being said I would HOPE they wouldn't put you on a floor being remodeled so you could always just ask for UPPER FLOOR UPDATED room and see what that gets you...

Hi
Great thread - have just worked my way through it all and am so looking forward to our trip. :yay: Staying at BC for the 1st time in October. One question I had was do the alarm clocks have docks for IPods /MP3s on the top? I've almost convinced myself from the photos that they do, and it would be another less thing to put in the case!

Thanks scottmel. I don't usually make room requests but I would really love to be able to surprise my DD with an updated room. We love the YC and right now she does not even know that we are staying there!:flower3:

Yes they do. have fun

Thanks, that's great to know, more room in the case for other things and we can still have a little music of our own! Knowing DD she'll be falling asleep to "Wishes" whether we are in MK or not!

Hi everyone,
Only a few days to go until we arrive (at the Yacht Club)! I'm so excited!

I have a few questions...
1. Are the Yacht Club and Beach Club connected, or do you have to walk outside to get from one to the other?
2. Quiet pool questions: What are the hours of the quiet pool? How do you get to the quiet pool... is there a door that you can get in/out of right near the pool or do you have to use the lobby entrance? Are there towels available by the quiet pool(s)? Finally, can Yacht Club guests use the Beach Club quiet pool too?
3. If we arrive and our room is not ready yet, (our plane arrives at the airport at 9:30ish a.m.), will they store our carry-on bags somewhere until our room is ready?
4. Do they sell Clorox disinfecting wipes and disinfecting spray at the Yacht Club or Beach Club store?
:) Jeanette

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions...
1. Are the Yacht Club and Beach Club connected, or do you have to walk outside to get from one to the other?

They are connected by a covered outside walkway that runs along SAB. The walkway passes Beaches n Cream, the gameroom, healthclub, Perriwig Salon and then there is a door right by Yachtsman Steakhouse to go back inside or you can continue outside to get to the YC lobby, back entrance.

The quiet pools are open 24 hours, but no lifeguard is on duty. Yes, there are towels at the quiet pools and you can use either quiet pool. Both pools are at the far end of each resort, so, you do not need to to through the lobby - there is an exit for each pool from inside cooridors close to the pools. The YC quiet pool is at the far end, think of the end close to the Dolphin. The BC quiet pool is at the far end closer to Epcot

3. If we arrive and our room is not ready yet, (our plane arrives at the airport at 9:30ish a.m.), will they store our carry-on bags somewhere until our room is ready?

They will absolutely store your luggage for you.

4. Do they sell Clorox disinfecting wipes and disinfecting spray at the Yacht Club or Beach Club store?

This is something I do not know, I bring my own from home.

:) Jeanette

Have a wonderful trip!!!!

Thanks for your quick response HockeyMomR!

The reason I asked about the disinfectant is because it is listed as a prohibited item on my airline (AirTran)... both in the carryon and checked bag.

Thanks for your good wishes, I'm sure we will have a wonderful trip! I'm at the very fun part right now... where I mostly have what I'm bringing packed or close to being packed, and I'm anticipating all the fun! :yay:

Just booked Yacht Club Concierge for our December trip to Disneyworld!! YIPPPEE!!!!!

Does anyone know the room layouts for the Deluxe Club Level and 1-BR Suites at the Beach Club????

Congratulations!!! We are also trying to complete our plans to go for a quick weekend in December to celebrate our anniversary. YC CL is definitely on our list, love that place.

Does anyone know the room layouts for the Deluxe Club Level and 1-BR Suites at the Beach Club????

The dlx rooms are one oversized room, 2 queen beds and a daybed. The extra sq. footage is wonderful. :thumbsup2

I did inquire about the one bedroom suite a couple of years ago, I was told it would not fit our family of four. The suite I was given information had a separate bedroom with a queen or maybe it was a king bed and then the daybed was in a separate sitting room type area, thus only accommodating 3 people.
