Here now (home resort) and nothing much to report other than the cast members are terrific and everything seems in tip-top shape!
Anyone with a week 39 FW using it this year other than me? 45 days away, but who's counting?!
We're week 40...I think. Bought FW last year, but have used '24, '25 and '26 for other trips. Maybe in '27!Anyone with a week 39 FW using it this year other than me? 45 days away, but who's counting?!

Studios tend to book fast but you can get what you want if using the 11-month privilege. As a new owner of Riv, I'm wondering how availability is for the first two weeks of December? I'm assuming its fine since they are still in active sales, but wanted to see what you all are experiencing. Studios and one bedrooms specifically.
Edit: December in general, not this upcoming December which I know is booked solid.
These are among the most in-demand weeks in the entire DVC system. Point values are low, the holiday decorations are up, and the in-Park crowds aren't too bad. If you want a studio (and especially a Standard/Resort view) you will need to play the fastest-finger game or walk. A 1BR might be easier.I'm wondering how availability is for the first two weeks of December?

And the best weeks to get a return on investment at Riviera, the hotel prices rise, and our points fall those weeks. The DVC Trifecta: Holiday celebrations, great weather, and low points!
Oh interesting. Drainflies are usually a harbinger of deeper plumbing woes. And if the problem is bad, yes, many, many, many of them can come out of one drain. (Ask me how I know….better yet, please don’t, I’d like to forget that chapter of home ownershipJust came back from a stay at the Riviera. Still a great resort! Was in room 8688 (1BR Preferred, below Topolino's facing the quiet pool) and had a great view but with 1 issue – (drain) flies!!
Started after we checked in… these little fruit-fly-like bugs flying around. Swapped and killed quite a few of them. Didn't think it would be an issue until the next morning when there were a lot more in the room and 1 took a nosedive into my coffee cup (not to mention congregated on the desserts my wife bought from Le Petit Café). I did complain to the front desk/management, and the engineer who came up indicated that they were “Drain Flies” and treated the drains, but it didn’t work quite so well. I learned that coffee attracts them, so I left the pot and some cups out to trap them (I have pictures, but they're gross). By the time we returned from an After Hours event (after midnight), there were 18 dead flies in the pot. Our nightly routine included using the dishwasher to clean all the pots/cups/dishes and covering all drains with a wet paper towel.
I showed the pictures to the front desk/manager again, and they treated the drains again a second time. It drastically reduced the flies, although we’re not sure if it was the covering of the drains or if the treatment did the trick.
It’s still a great resort and the CM’s were very responsive (that’s not why I posted this), but I can’t imagine that the flies only came to my room via the drains. So, if you see even one of them, please report it so they can treat it if it’s a bigger issue!
So I'm not a plumber, but I do have experience modernizing my 1926 home... I have P-traps on all of my drains and it's primarily there to keep out sewer gases. What also worried me about all the drain flies are, if they can come in, can't methane, ammonia, etc. come in as well? Not sure, but it certainly made the stay more stressful than it should.Oh interesting. Drainflies are usually a harbinger of deeper plumbing woes. I hope they can take care of whatever is causing the problem!
So happy to hear. Felt like I was reading my own post- Boardwalk is my first love too, but we bought RIV a little over a year ago and are gearing up for our first stay over Labor Day weekend. I'm so excited- we'll have 1.5 days to simply enjoy the resort and a couple park days to benefit from the Skyliner access. We're starting in a studio to sleep 5 so we can only go up from here in terms of the rooms (and the points!).Just popping in for a little RIV appreciation post!
We’ve been proud owners for a year now, and although we’ve visited plenty, this was our first official stay — in a 2-bedroom (we’re definitely spoiled now!) And… RIV totally blew us away.
