It was just like the regular Illuminations cruise but the boat was decorated with balloons and a banner that said Happy Birthday. During the Illuminations Cruise first you cruise around Crescent Lake and then the stop the boat under the bridge and you have a close up view of Illuminations. The boat is stocked with snacks and drinks. We loved it.

Thanks for the details:thumbsup2, we had illuminations criuse booked in 2007 but it was cancelled due to lightening. Sounds like time to try it again.

HI Everyone....

Will be at the Yacht Club for a last minute, long weekend trip (next week:cool1:). We are meeting up with family at the Swan for dinner. Is it walkable from the Yacht Club to the Swan? Not even sure if it's doable or not. We will have a rental car but was trying to avoid that if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Absolutely. In fact, it's probably as quick to walk as it is to drive. You can also take a boat to dinner. Hop on the one headed to DHS. The next stop after the Y&BC is the Swan.

Oh, and the last I knew there was a parking fee at the Swan. Maybe that has changed though???

Is it true that only Yacht and Beach club resort guests can use the pool and that cast members stand in front of a gate and check you when you walk up?

Yes, it is true that only guests of the Y&BC and BCV can use SAB. It's not exactly a gate but entrances. CMs are normally there to check ids.

Yep...you have to show your room card to prove you're staying there, and then they'll put a special bracelet on you, so they know you've checked in with the lifeguards.

Hi, everyone. I wish I could be saying I will be staying at the Yacht club on our visit be it is a little more than we want to spend this trip. We will be bringing my daughter to the Albatross treasure cruise which leaves from the marina at Yacht Club. Will we be able to park at the resort?

Yes, you can. I suppose they may ask for your confirmation number? I'm sure she'll have a blast!:cool1:

My family and I just got back from WDW a couple days ago! It was our first trip and we stayed in a 1 bedroom at the BCV. We LOVED the, resort, the room, (washer, dryer, dishwasher, big jacuzzi tub was fun for my son!). We will definitley stay there again in the future!

Some highlights:

Cape May Cafe Buffet was really yummy. Great variety and all tasty!

Pack & Play mattress was stained in our room and even though we had sheets, I asked if I could just get another mattress. They quickly brought a clean crib mattress up instead to replace it! Worked out so much better! (thicker mattress) So if you need a pack & play, request a crib mattress.

Kitchen was fully stocked with everything from wine glassess, to measuring cups. Way more than I needed, but really felt like home.

Loved the washer and dryer in the room-I came home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!

We were so surprised at how CLOSE BC was to Epcot. About 4 mins to walk with 2 kiddos. Just as easy as a walk to the Boardwalk and a .8 mile walk or a 7 min boat ride to Hollywood studios. This prime location is a main reason we will stay at the Beach Club for future visits.

SAB was great! It was cool on our trip last week but we still made it into the pool a couple times. Lifeguards were always very pleasant, the whirlpool section of the pool was fun for my son and he also loved the waterslide! I thought it was a little scary (but I did go down a second time because it was fun too!!) The hot tubs were also very relaxing for muscles that were worked all day long in the parks!

I thought it was really quiet when we were in the room or on the balcony. Barely ever heard or saw other people (other than housekeeping) on our floor.

Only negative experiences I had were just a little frustration with some of the people working at the front desk. What an awesome internship experience it would be to work at Disney, but unfortunately, I felt as if some of the people really didn't know the answers to some questions.

While in Epcot, I called the BC to ask about Quick Service dinner options other than the Marketplace (we were going to eat at Epcot but it was getting too chilly). I was told a place at the YC. So we left Epcot and walked back to the BC. I checked with the front desk to find out where this restaurant was and was told they aren't on the dining plan so QS was not an option. :sad2: ugh. We should've eaten at Epcot. So I asked the woman helping me, if there were any other options. She said Hurricane Hanna's but they were already closed for the day (it was 6pm). :headache: I was headed back to the room with the kids and we were just going to pay out of pocket for dinner. My husband decided to run by Hurrican Hanna's and they were OPEN. (until 8 or 9pm that night!!) Luckily we were able to use our QS dinner option but it was a lot of misinformation to figure that out.

Also, I used diapers.com to ship supplies for the baby down to the Beach Club. I also mailed a box thru the post office. Both were there when we arrived, but I was charged an $8 fee from the icon Business center for the diapers.com shippment. (the online service ships anywhere FREE for orders over $49 and my order was $60 something.) So....I was trying to understand why I was charged the $8, and the young woman at the front desk was trying to be helpful but really said there wasn't much she could do. She said I must've used the wrong address and sent it to the Business center, not the Beach Club. I explained I called the Beach Club directly before I mailed anything to find out EXACTLY how packages should be addressed. I had the SAME thing for both shippments.

So, I have a phone number for icon, but have yet to call them. I was told they aren't even run by Disney so I wonder what type of customer service I will receive.

I was also trying to get a straight answer about if this was just a fluke and it was delivered to the wrong place, so therefore I was charged? Or are all orders shipped from diapers.com going to be charged as well. :confused3 We have friends with kids that will be traveling to WDW in a few months and I was telling them how convenient it was to ship stuff ahead of time. But now I am not feeling that way. Surprise charges are no fun!!

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry to be a bother, as this is the third time I ask this question. I hope someone will have the answer. This is my first time posting on this thread, although I've been lurking for some time. I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks.

Hi Beech Club fans. I've been reading through some of this wonderful thread for a while now trying to learn as much as I can about this awsome resort. I'm booked for a studio at BCV on 9/23-10/1. It is a suprise birthday trip for my DD11. I'm so thrilled to be planning another Disney vacation. I'll soon be making my ADR's, so I have a question. In September, about what time do they do the camp fire sing-a-long and movie on the beech? I plan on making a ressie at Cape Mays and want to be finished in plenty of time to do the camp fire and movie. Thanks so much.

Hi there,
The sing-a-long and campfire (if nothing has changed)...is not at the BC...
It's at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

The resorts that have a convention center all charge a fee for package handling if you have anything shipped ahead.

This is the information I was given the other day when a guest had the exact same thing happen to them. Disney's shipping department is owned and operated by ICON. All mail/packages except mail delivered via the postal service goes to ICON, not the Beach Club. If it's addressed to you at the Beach Club with the Beach Club address on it and even if it has your room number on it and it comes via UPS or another carrier besides the US Postal Service, it goes to ICON. ICON is located in our convention center. Even if you go over and pick up the package yourself, then charge you a "handling fee" and it is calculated by the weight of the package or envelope. A guest recently went over and picked up his package and he was still charged the "handling or delivery fee". This is ICON's policy and there isn't much you can do about it unless you have your package sent to you via the U.S. Postal Service and addressed to you c/o Beach Club Front Desk with a notation on it to hold for "Jane Doe, Arrival Date 3/20/10".

It's at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

The BC has "roasting of marshmallows and making smores" every night on the beach before the movie. The movie is also on the beach. As far as what time it will be is dependent on the recreation schedule for that month. I can't remember what time it is every month.

Is this new???? We went in 2006 and we were on the beach MANY nights...no movie or smores!! Wow, what a surprise!!

About two years ago I believe. I've been there almost six years now and it's hard for me to remember when things change.

We are arriving late on Apr 15 to the YC--probably around 11pm. I am trying to decide if we should have GG deliver during their last delivery slot on Apr 15 or the morning of Apr 16. Does bell services ever close? Would we be able to have bell services bring up our groceries when we check in even if it is late--around 11 or 11:15pm? I also don't want to disturb our neighboring guests but I would really like to have our groceries for a late night snack or early morning breakfast for the kids.

Thanks!

Anyone know about bell services?:bored:

I'd be shocked if bell services were not available at 11 through midnight. It might be a little slower than you're used to for midday service, but they are around. We've walked back in from late night out, after 2am some times :cool1:, and there's folks checking in and bell services around.
