I don't think she'll make it to the end but I do like Brooke. She's got a very singer/songwriter vibe which I like. A lot of the big pop songs people sing are just cheesy - the songs she chooses, and the way she sings them, just sound more real.

I would have LOVED to see Chikezie and Kristy go last night! And Amanda, I CAN'T STAND that girl. But oh well - as long as David C, Michael and Jason are there I'm psyched! They're my top 3 but I hope that none of them win. David A's gonna win and be given some over-the-top, "dreams come true" power ballad to sing, and a cheesy, over-the-top pop album to release. The AI winner's get shafted I hope they all make it to the final 4 but don't win so that they could wait for David A to release his crappy album and then they can release they're own stuff. The AI-produced albums SUCK year after year!

This is my favorite season since season 2... I may even go to the tour!

I think David A will probably have the same problem Melinda did last year, he peaked too soon. David C and Jason snuck up on people with QUALITY and I think they will continue to gain fans. David H got a thumbs up from record companies (for what reason I have NO CLUE) so he had to stay. Whatever Nigel and the PTB are thinking I don't know... They already know who the touring ten are so the others are cannon fodder.

Very true. I heard about David H being given the nod from producers but I also have no idea why. He's got a decent voice, good stage presence and he's cute but he's nowhere near as good as a lot of them I kind of hope David A didn't peak too soon because I really don't want any of my top 3 guys to win, and I don't think they want to win either This really is a great season and I think a lot of them will make it big afterwards - there's gonna be a lot of Chris Daughtry success! Hopefully! This will give them exposure without having to run their careers under the watchful eye of American Idol. If Chris would have won I can guarantee his album would have been cheesy and HORRIBLE. But he didn't win and instead won grammy's. You can't beat that! I'm not even a Chris fan but I hope my top 3 follow in his footsteps!

aMEN to that! This the first year I didn't want my fave to win... and they always did.. (except farmbot)!! This is the first time I saw personalities I hope will IMMENSELY succeed! All male, though, which is rare for me. Asia'h was the only girl I had hopes for, mostly because I just LIKED her.

I'm so glad Danny got the boot. I found him to be extremely obnoxious and very disrespectful to the judges. Yes Simon can be obnoxious himself but he knows what he's talking about. Be a big boy and listen to what he has to say and learn from it. I thought he was very mouthy and came off to be a brat.

So true! Usually every year I want my favorite to win and get so upset when they don't. The only season my favorite has won was season 1 with Kelly! Season 2 I was IN LOVE with Clay lmao: I know, I know!), season 3 I hated them all , season 4 I LOVED Bo!, Season 5 I don't even remember who I liked but it wasn't Taylor or Katherine, and Season 6 I also hated them all I'm so glad that this season's better! I absolutely LOVEEEEEE my top 3, and they're also all guys. I like Brooke and Syesha but I don't love them. I can't stand the rest of the girls

Since day one, it's been obvious that Brooke is not the best singer, but she reminds me of people like Carly Simon, Carole King, and/or James Taylor. While they weren't the best singers, they connected with their folk-pop style of music. I agree wholeheartedly that the voice isn't excellent -- you're not going to hear her hit those power notes at the end of any song -- but I do think she's talented.

I totally understand why you might have this opinion.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't particularly like singers who "hit" big notes, though. I am a huge Sheryl Crow fan, I like Ingrid Michaelson, Sarah McLaughlin. I guess it depends what style music you like. Not everybody likes a "Mariah Carey" or Whitney. Besides, I think Brooke is likeable.

I know that it is early, but does anyone know when they announce the tour dates?? My dd is 9 now and really into AI. I would love to take her to the concert this year!

She has an ipod shuffle and has been downloading some of the songs from the show. Her favorites? She was sad to see Luke go last night but happy that Danny went. She likes Brooke & Jason. (She still hasn't gotten over the loss of BUCKY two years ago! )

As an aside, dh took the kids out the other day and let them buy one thing - her choice? The latest Carrie Underwood cd!
