Hey, what about me! Hey Robin, I cheat off of RyMickey. :goodvibes

Ladies, ladies, please...you can both feel free to use me all you want...

However, I've got to work tomorrow night, so I'll have to use you when I get home ;)

See, it PAYS to have a recent college grad on the board.... I'm too darned old and fried to come up with all that information!:lmao:

Tell me about it. I'd never have the time or patience to type all of that stuff. With two kids, a husband and a dog, I rarely have the time or patience for anything. :laundy: Thank God for work!!!! That's where I go to get some peace.

We love you RyMickey!

A night in the life of Paula Abdul.....

Man, she has my DREAM JOB and she sleeps and rants thru it... Give me that job, I'll stay awake!!

I LOVED tonight. Luke is the only one that I didn't like at all. I'm ready for him to go now. Chikezie is the only other one that I would give up. I like him, but compared to the others he's my least favorite. Actually, David H could go also.

David Cook worked wonders on that song! I love love loved it!

David A is adorable, but his cuteness is starting to become phoney to me. I thought he did wonderful with the song, but his sucking air and running his tongue out over his lips really bugged me. I had to laugh every time he did it.

Jason is also adorable. His shyness is so genuine. I couldn't help but think of Shrek while he was singing. Sorry, but I had never heard the original song before Shrek.

Michael is just smokin. I don't care if he sings achey breaky heart I will always be smitten.

Danny annoys me with his overly flamboyant behavior, but there is something about him that I love. I actually want him around for awhile just for some entertainment. His vocals are great. He sounds so manly yet looks so girly when he's singing. It's kind of distracting.

I could care less about any of the girls. None of them really stand out to me this year.

Luke Menard – Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go – While I still think you are HOT! I have to say it is time for you to go-go. You have a nice voice but yawn I like this song and you almost put me to sleep

David Archuleta – Another Day in Paradise –He could sing Happy Birthday and I would still love him. I don't think it's an act. He is a kid. I think he is generally thrilled to be there and overwhelmed. (did you see his parents giving the hate eye to Jason!:scared1: ) Last night I said I want to grab him and bring him here and put him on our mantel to sing for us - he is just so darn cute

Danny Noriega – Tainted Love – This is one of my FAVORITE songs- it is so 80's. I thought he did a really good job with it. He voice is good. And I don't mind the 'tude. I think he might have saved himself with this one. He is fun to watch I'll give him that.

David Hernandez – It’s All Coming Back to Me Now – Did you hear Simon say"is this the stripper?" not knowing his mic was on? I was :rotfl2: I really wish I didn't read all that about him because it did cloud my judgement of his singing. But I loved him last week and I think he did ok this week- not as good as last week but I don't know if that is because I keep picturing him doing a lap dance?

Michael Johns – Don’t You Forget About Me – First time I have to say I didn't love it. I think he is destined to be a lead singer in a band someplace but not the American Idol. (can I add that he ooozes sexy:love: )

David Cook -- Hello –HELLO! My dh hates this guy- thinks he is full of himself. I think that if you sound like that you can be. He was GREAT! My Favorite last night!

Jason Castro -- Hallelujah – He picked a great song for himself! That is a tough song and he pulled it off. I liked it. I give it 4 dreads!

Chikezie – All the Woman That I Need – Come on SIMON! Have you never listened to Lionell? You think Whitney when you hear this song? I thought he sounded right on key. I liked it and like his singing style-

The 2 that should go home imho
I can't believe I'm saying this but
Luke Menard
Danny Noriega

but I bet it's going to be Chikezie instead of Danny.

And I LOVE THE 80's!!! I was hoping for some Cure or some Culture Club. I was excited for Boy George but then he ruined it.

Oh and it's nice to see Paula drinking again. How about Simon shaking her chair to wake her up? now that was funny.

I don't think Danny will go yet, not that he shouldn't but he is on the vote for the worst list. I also think he has an ok voice but he is so OVERDONE and fake.

I am curious to see what happens with everyone's hair once they start getting stylists. I would love to see Jason Castro's hair short.

I think Luke and Swiss Cheezy are gone.

Also, has someone posted the spoiler for what the women are singing tonight?

It was rather a meh night with not one of the guys really doing it for me. Some were a snooze fest, other just OK and a few showed a spark but it just wasn’t on par with the past two weeks. Here’s my take on the last 10 standing.

Luke Menard – Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. You know, I really like this guy’s voice but that performance made me glad I wasn’t a diabetic. It was just too sugary sweet for my taste. I gave him a 5 last night but if I was to rate him on voice alone, it would have been more like a 7. I fear it won’t matter what I rate him though, I suspect Luke will be gone on Thursday.

David Archuleta – Another Day In Paradise. The boy wonder came out and played the piano for a small segment of the song showing us he can play and sing at the same time. I suspect he could play piano, bang the drums, dance and sing at the same time. Really, this kid has talent written all over him. While I agree that he could have picked something more upbeat and that his pitch wasn’t total perfection, he made me like a song that I’ve never particularly cared for. Another 10 for David A. He’s gotten 10’s every week of the competition!

Danny Noriega – Tainted Love. Oh dear, that was really bad. Sweet Danny had way too many sour notes during this odd presentation. While Randy and Paula were feeling the love, Simon was, once again, the voice of reason. Dreadful. I gave Danny boy a 2.

David Hernandez – It’s All Coming Back To Me Now. Considering the rumors flying around about David this week, I had to chuckle of his choice of song. It wasn’t as good as last week’s offering but his voice trips something in my central nervous system. I just love it. I’d rather see him stick with songs that have a bluesy feel to them but this was still pretty darn good. He got a 9.

Michael Johns – Don’t You Forget About Me. Think about it, if this guy looked like William Hung, would you still be raving about him. It was another dismal performance by the Aussie hunk man. It was pitchy and, for me, uninspired… similar to all his other performances. He got a 4 and most of that was for looks. Note to self: This IS a singing contest!

David Cook – Hello. When he first came out and started singing this with an electric guitar, I was like WTH?? But the more I heard, the more I liked it and the ending was brilliant. I gave him an 8 but I suspect when I listen to it again today I’ll wish that I’d given him a 9 or even a 10.

Jason Castro – Hallelujah. This was a sweet song but not sticky sweet like Luke’s rendition. Once again, good tone, captivating performance without being over the top, just a pleasure to watch all the way around. The end was a bit rough but I really enjoy watching this kid. He got an 8.

Chikezie – All The Man That I Need. What he actually sang, I enjoyed. There just weren’t a lot of words in that song. He’s another one who has great tone to his voice. Since the orange suit disaster I’ve got to say he dresses up well. I’d hate to see him go because I think he’s got more he can show us. I gave him an 8.

Who I voted for or tried to vote for:
David A. – Couldn’t get through.
David H. – Got through a lot.
David C
Jason Castro – Couldn’t get through
Chikezie

Who I want to go home:
Danny
Michael

Who I think will go home:
Chikezie
Luke Menard.

As always… JMHO!

Just a request - when you East-Coast-Time-Zoners are discussing a singer, could you identify him/her? I was reading this thread hours before we saw AI yesterday and I couldn't tell WHO you were talking about. And anyone who goes back a few pages the next day to see what people had to say about a particular singer - youn can't tell who you're talking about. I mean, it's obvious you're watching a particular singer, but a comment like "loved it!" doesn't tell me who you loved. (he-he, I won't "peek" before a results show though! I want to be surprised!)

And they must have cut Simon's muttering under his breath regarding David H, because we didn't get any of those comments on the West Coast feed. In fact, I didn't know anything about David H's "previous job" until I read it in this mornings "gossip" column in today's newspaper.

...thanks for the re-cap...I wasn't home, so I didn't get to see ANY of the show.... (...and, NO, I don't have TIVO....:sad2: )

jMho... At the risk of sounding like a hunk chaser, I fell for Mike when he sang a soul song earlier in the season. He sang what I can relate to so he got my attention since. No, I probably wouldn't like him as much if he looked like William Hung, but I probably would like David A more if he didn't look like a wind up toy with a very WIDE mouth. Looks affect people, no matter how much we'd like to deny it.

This hasn't been a singing contest since Kelly won over Justin. It's all about the total package. People vote with their hearts... if they LIKE the person, they vote for him. Danny has a HUGE following, why? Because he's entertaining if nothing else. Jason has an adorability factor that is sweet and I love humility. David A reels in the tweens and the Moms that want to adopt him. David Cook has a definite appeal that builds every week. Everyone has a right to like what THEY LIKE. If it were all about looks I'd be voting for Luke... uh, NOT. :lmao:

I used to listen to AI with my back to it. The way someone looks CAN distract you from the real song. I did this with Phil, Lakeisha, even little Elliott, trying to just HEAR them. That's why I'm glad AI is putting the songs up on Itunes so we can just LISTEN.

Again, jmHo...;)

Was last night Live? I didn't think these rounds were, I thought they were taped on the weekend. I didn't hear the Simon-stripper sound bite either. I don't think the stripper story broke until yesterday....so if the show was taped it wouldn't have an impact on the judges.

LOVED David Cook. The arrangement on that song was incredible and he showed a ton of stage presence this week. He has really grown on me. Liked David A., Michael John, and Jason Castro. Others I am indifferent to.

And I agree with some posters about David A.....this guy is a seasoned vet. His aw shucks act is starting to wear a bit thin.....I think some of it is genuine, but I know a lot of it is definitely staged. I still like him, but I don't think he is as "green" as the show makes him out to be. Hopefully he can tone that down a bit in the next few weeks and not start to alienate some people.

I missed the stripper comment and Simon sitting Paula back down.:sad1: I'm gonna go back when I get a few minutes today and check it out.

Last night was so fun. I think that was my favorite collection of songs on AI - I don't think they had done an 80's night since season 1! I love that stuff. Hallelujah, Don't You Forget About Me (by Simple Minds, Randy, not INXS! ), Tainted Love (didn't someone call that? ;) ), and of course some WHAM!

I really enjoyed allof the performances but I think David Cook's might have been the best, just a cool take on a really great song. I don't usually like him. It was awesome to hear a Leonard Cohen song as well.

But I admit - I voted for only one person, the guy who I think is both the most entertaining and most in danger of being kicked off - good old Danny :p

OK time to go back and catch up on all your comments :surfweb:

the other two because I want to be the meat in a MJ and JC sandwich!!! :crowded:

:lmao: Ok, I have been reading this thread for weeks, but haven't posted, but OMG, this cracked me up. Robin, I love your comments and reviews. I am :rotfl:

I LOVED David Cook's version of Hello. Love the song to begin with, and he just rocked it.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Micheal - he can do no wrong for me. (I also didn't get the INXS reference from Randy. I was sure that they did not sing that song).

I think Luke really needs to go. I don't even think he is that good looking.

I also think Danny needs to go. My 2 year old was actually yelling "turn it off, turn it off" while Danny was performing. :rotfl2:

I was really surprised that none of the guys sang any Bon Jovi, Poison, etc., though I'm kind of glad they didn't try to cover Bon Jovi. They're my favorite band and I hate when other people butcher their songs. As a side note, Bon Jovi has sang Hallelujah a few times at their recent shows. Jon does a really good job with it.
