The 17 Day Diet and Dukan Diet

ok headache has set in again. I am thinking it IS related to this diet. I am drinking plenty of water.
I really want vegetables though! this is day 2 of attack, I think I will move to Cruise tomorrow.

No question that the headache is from this diet. It is a well known symptom of all low carb diets for the 1st few days. The first few days of Atkins was brutal.
 
I started the Dukan Diet on Monday. In 2 days I've lost 5 pounds. I'm having the hardest time eating the Oat Bran. No matter how I try to eat it, (in yogurt, like oatmeal, as the pancake) I just can't stand it. I feel like it taste like what I imagine cardboard would taste like.

I did mine like oatmeal today.
mixed it with water, cooked it in micro for a few seconds, then added a splash of milk and stevia.
it was actually good and i enjoyed it more this way than the pancake way. and it was easier too.

I actually just cheated on this diet. Yes day 2 and I popped the balloon already:rotfl:
I couldn't stand the brutal headache, so I just had a piece of wholegrain toast with some natural peanut butter on it.
I feel much better now.:)

I understand the cheating to cure a headache. At least you didn't fall completely off the wagon. I brought a sampler cheesecake into work on Monday out of my refrigerator and insisted everyone eat it immediately to keep me from eating any. My mother had brought it over on Sunday. I know she means well but I keep telling her she's an enabler. DH is doing the diet with me which really helps. We can keep each other in check.
 
I was afraid to hit the scale this morning, but i am down 2.6 pounds even with the cheat.
ok, will try again today, so far so good. :)
I know that is water weight but it is still motivating.

oh yes, cheesecake, I would have to insist others eat it immediately. I am not a big sweet craver, but cheesecake is my one sweet weakness!
 
My mom got sick of the pancake too and started eating it like oatmeal. Have you tried it with a packet of equal or other sugar substitute? Its really gross w/o sugar but I love it as long as I put the packet in there. But I like sweet tea and coffee also :goodvibes
 
I read about the Dukan diet, and the amount of protein involved just seems expensive to me. And it would mean having to cook different meals for myself than the rest of the family, which is just a pain. Plus all that oat bran. Ick.

I've been losing weight on the "burn more calories than you consume" plan and that's worked out so far. I haven't done anything to change my balance of carbs/protein/fats.
 
How is everyone doing? I am doing good, I switched to cruise phase and find it much easier with the veg added.
headaches gone.

I have to admit to a Edy's lemonade fruit bar though.
still the scale went down:thumbsup2
 
I found the article last week in Woman's World on the Dukan diet and thought I would give it a try. I started on Monday at 182.6 and today I am at 176.8...almost 6 pounds in 4 days.

The information I have from the article is limited, so I need to break down and buy the book. When does the weight loss tapper off? I know it is between 7-10 pounds average in the first 5 days. What does the loss look like as you continue?

I have found the "pancake" pretty yummy in the morning. I use a dropper of a flavored liquid stevia for sweetner and it works great...plus I use the stevia for my cottage cheese and greek yogurt to give it flavor without adding fruit and such. Today for breakfast I topped the pancake with some greek yogurt and a few slices of ham...folded it into a taco and YUM-O...
 
np mommie sorry I have not been on in a few days. In answer to your question I am doing ok. Lost 5 lbs since last Monday when I began. I am not really creative though and really sick of all the protein lol. I have been making the oat bran as oatmeal and add a packet of splenda. I just started adding a tsp of unsweetened coco powder as I read somewhere it was tolerated on the diet. I also like to add the tsp of coco powder to the plain yogurt with some splenda. It is pretty good. I am now on the cruise phase not sure how long I will need to be on it until next phase. Had a headache friday and took 2 advil and it went away. Anyone with creative ideas please share.
 
Just got back from my 9 day Disney + cruise vacation.... gained 5lbs but I can live with that :goodvibes Going back on the Dukan and will come off in no time.
