Day 1: Breakfast at Crystal Palace
Welcome to the first installment of our dining reviews!! Sit back.. relax.. and get ready for some Disney magic.. food porn style!!
We traditionally start our trip off at the Magic Kingdom, and this trip was no different. Since we arrived late the night before, we had a good nights sleep under our belt and were ready to go. The plan was watch the rope drop (first time ever!), then have my DW check us in to Crystal Palace while I grabbed the first set of fast passes. With fast passes in hand, we were off to grab some breakfast!
I suppose I forgot to mention that were were celebrating our anniversary this trip. When were were sat at our table, we were presented with this cool heart made out of Mickey confetti!
There are many things that I like about CP, how they give you a carafe of coffee in the morning (ensure you always have your "go" juice
), made-to order omelets, Pooh ears, and the restaurant's bright atmosphere. This morning my DW and I decided to get in line to grab a made-to-order omelet. For the size of this restaurant, I was surprised they had only one chef, which only made two items at a time! Needless to say, it took quite a long time to get our order in and prepared
The end product was delicous though! I had the Ultimate omelet
and my DW had the Veggie omelet
As we were about to get up to get some more food, one of the characters showed up.. Piglet! Well, if you noticed on my DW's plate, she had some scraps of bacon left for the server to come pick up. Piglet almost had a coronary right there!!! He was openly weeping and holding his head; I thought the poor little guy was going to faint! Sufficed to say, the character interaction was great, as it's a big part of coming to this restaurant.
Back to the food.. they have a yummy selection of cold items, fruits, salmon pastrami, that were all very fresh and delicous
As good as all this food was, we all know the star of this buffet are the Pooh ears! They are like heaven in your mouth!
All in all, this is definately a must-do restaurant in order to kick a Disney vacation into full gear!!
