building 2 and 5 so far. My next trip I have requested building 5 or 6 looking out onto Beignet Square.

The resort is tiny so it may only take a few minutes (2 or 3) to get from building 7 to the pool. The maps make it look much bigger than what it really is.

As for making room requests just ask them to note it when you call and when you check in, just remind them of your preference.

We just returned from POFQ and were told at check-in that the only smoking building now is #2.

We had a great room on the third floor of bldg. 4 which is closest to the bus stop and not far from the food court and the pool. Very quiet.

your photos are awesome! I just have to ask what kind of camera do you use? I usually use the disposable Kodaks, but I want to invest in something that can get those crisp, clear shots like you have.

I've never even been to Disney World, let alone POFQ, so I'm hoping that I'm doing this all right.

I read in my Unofficial Guide that not all water view rooms are river view rooms and vice versa...is that right? The reason is because my AAA agent asked if I wanted to pay for the water view. I'd kinda like a view of a river, but not for that much more.

So I called today to make our "special" requests at the resort.

One of the manager's is handling all of this stuff personally, because of some problems we ran into. I do know that we'll be in Building 5 (what I requested) on the first floor, near the pool. My mom's got some joint problems, and uses a cane sometimes, so I did not want to worry about her.

YAY, only seven more days !!!!

The way I understand it, "water view" could be either river or pool.

As for the buildings..I have no idea, since I have not been there yet either. We are going Jan. 15-22 for the first time. The only other time I stayed on-site was at Shades of Green.

Hi All! I just switched my Oct ressie to POFQ (5th stay here!) and I'm enjoying th FAQ thread getting psyched to go!

Telly- You POFQ pics are as beautiful as your Poly ones...great job! You are the queen!

We are going to be spending some time around both resorts this trip... can you believe I've never gone to Riverside in all those previous stays??? I'm glad you mentioned the bike/boat rentals only being at Riverside now. I think it would be fun to bike around there and maybe rent a canoe or kayaks (are the kayaks doubles??? We're two adults, and my girls are 9 & 11yrs old) I know we can use both pools too, I didn't realize you could use POFQ mugs at POR... that's great cause we're planning on buying some new ones as souvies anyway.

Just wanted to add a couple of things from my past stays... I have booked waterview before and just made the request that I wanted a river view not a pool view and got it. It's really peaceful and lovely. One morning I woke up early and saw hot air balloons going by. Other than that, I've never made any room requests and have been happy everywhere. Unless you have mobility problems, it is so easy to get around there compared to other resorts.

I miss the full service restaurant, it was really good. My dad still talks about Ma Mere's french toast. I wish they would reopen it. At Sassagoula Floatworks the beignets are yummy, but I had the worst take out pizza in the world there in Jan., it was just awful.

I love the atmosphere at POFQ, the little streets, the fountain, pool slide. It's a really laid back, pretty resort...I can't wait to go back!

Just got back from POFQ Sept. 10. Two things missing from the food court were Red Velvet cake and Minute Maid Light Lemonade. When we were there in Aug. '04 they had both.

we loved our stay at pofq (we were there from 8/25-9/2)... what a great resort! and we LOVED having por right next door to visit! we had an amazing meal at boatwrights, brought our swimsuits and enjoyed the pool at por afterwards... a perfect "down" evening w/the boatrides being part of the fun!

when we checked in and i asked for bldg 5 i was disappointed to be told no, as they did not have connecting rooms available (and we needed them!) so i accepted bldg 6 and begrudgingly made my way there... WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE! we loved it! i would request 6 in the future... close enough to everything, a lovely walk to the bus stops, easy enough to get to the pool/food court/store/arcade/etc... quiet and refined... overall WONDERFUL! i was glad to not be in 5 as they were spray painting the doors a few mornings (and i am highly allergic to paint fumes)... plus it had more foot traffic going by... 6 was idyllic! the entire resort was fabulous!

Reading all of these POFQ posts is getting me psyched! We'll be there October 6th throught the 10th. We've never stayed at POFQ so we're very excited and reading all of these positive things is just making me more anxious!

GeorgeT, we will be there 9/29 - 10/5. Maybe we'll see you at the pool! My kids are so excited about the dragon slide! I have run into lots of East Tennesseeans on this board! I guess we make great Disney fans! We live in Knoxville.

We are going to WDW in January. Currently, we have ressies as WL, but we are seriously thinking of changing to POFQ. We really need to save money on this trip and POFQ seems to be the perfect place for it!

I have one question: is there room to put one of those Aero beds on the floor. There are only four of us, but my kids have reached the age we no longer fit in 2 double beds. (That is why we were thinking WL to begin with.) I was hoping to take one of those pump up beds for my teenage son to sleep on.

Jackie H, Don't know what size Areo bed you are thinking of but our kids,(when they were younger), didn't like sleeping together either, so we would make a bed between the beds with an air mattress and they slept well there.
We love POFQ and would never think of staying anywhere else! We, too, are sorry that there is no TS there but it is a short walk to POR and we eat there at least once during our stays. That way we get to go to the General Store there!! We love that one. It is larger and there is always alot more to look at.
DH is not fond of it as his wallet always seems to fly open the moment we walk through the door!!

Glad you guys liked my pixs!! I used Olympus 3.5 or 3.1 mega pixel. I wish I could have taken more pixs. There's always a next time!

My next trip to POFQ, I am sticking with either bldg 5 or 3. But I really prefer bldg 3 over bldg 5. I just like walking down that street (can't remember the name). I don't think I can ever try any other moderate resort.. nor value resort. Though I like POP... I just have the LOVE for POFQ!

so, when's your next trip to pofq? we're going back in january and are torn between pofq or saving a few bucks and staying at pop century... we liked both (okay, LOVED both!) and if it will be too cold to swim, we figure we might as well stay at pop... but then again, pofq is sooooooo beautiful and we did love it and and and... oh, i hate decisions like this! LOL!
