What do others here do about using the bus service? We always hire a car anyway when we're at POFQ, but then use the bus to get to the parks. Would we be better off driving? It always seems to me that if the back of the car park (parking lot) is a bus ride from the park then we may as well get the bus from the resort, because it drops you at the door.

we are not planning to rent a car... we did not have one last year at pop century and found it very very managable to solely rely on wdw transport... personally, i think it's a waste of money (unless you plan to do a lot of offsite stuff) and for those few times when you have a very difficult destination (resort to resort or HDDR) it's worth the few dollars to take a taxi!

Hi everyone. Just back from PO-FQ and wanted to post that it was wonderful. The room was beautiful and clean and obviously new, which was very nice. The fridge in the room is a great addition. We went to the new Super Walmart one afternoon and bought sodas and snacks and we were set.

The grounds are pretty and well-maintained. The pool area is quite large and while busy, we always got a chair. There was a nice bartender and I ordered many pina coladas! My husband enjoyed that the pool had a shady area (under the sea serpent's belly!) because he burns easily in the sun.

The food court was fine, nothing great but typical for Disney with a good selection. The Mardi Gras faces hanging are horrible, capable of scaring tinier kids. My kids are a bit older and we just found them awful! That is a small complaint for this nice resort. We felt like the place was a good bargain and really comfortable. We had a lovely housekeeper who was very gracious about the tips I left her, and our room was cleaned fairly early each day. We did not use the buses this time so I can not comment. We were in Building #1 which made me appreciate the resort's size -- even though we were "far out" everything was close. In the ninety-degree heat this was a real bonus.

We will definitely return to this resort. :)

We just booked POFQ for our first two night in October (27th & 28th) and I can hardly wait. After reading this thread, I am really glad we decided to try this resort.

Here are about 20 photos from our recent (July 28 - August 3) stay at POFQ!

I edited them a little to make them a bit brighter, not that the resort needs it because its amazing. They were painting railings and making everything look FRESH and new so don't worry about anything!

Great pictures. Thanks for sharring.

Great pics! Thanks for posting. I can't wait until we get there!

Cool! Thanks for posting your pictures! I'm so excited for our POFQ stay in January!

Pkdcoastrs- AWESOME PICS!! Thanks for sharing!!

This thread is awesome! I changed our ressies from WL to POFQ. I was a little down about that until I saw all the wonderful things all my fellow DISsers had to say about this resort! I requested a room in Building 3, corner room and non-smoking...I also let them know that we are celebrating my DH birthday. When I told the CM that she asked me what day his birthday was. Last time, when I had booked WL, the CM was extremely helpful and told me all the going-ons for birthdays, never asked me what day his birthday was. I hope that we get all of our requests! I want his birthday to be special.

Do they have banana-stuffed french toast at the food court or is it only at the Poly and Boatwrights? TIA!!

Your pictures are wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing them. We'll be there in December. Can't Wait!!!

Great pictures!!!!!! I'm struggling with deciding on a resort. I really wanted to try BC or Swan, but there are so many complaints about bus service. On our trip in May, we walked around POFQ and really liked it. Do you feel that the bus service is pretty good. I guess my real question is, does it take a long time to make the rounds at all of the stops at POR?
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful pics. Now I am too excited....just 25 more days to go !!!!

BTW, how far away from the main building were you?

Fantastic pictures, Pkdcoastrs! Thanks for posting them!

I had some reservations about staying at POFQ this year because staying at swan and dolphin spoiled us. But your pictures have made it ok and our child will LOVE the theming---particularly those alligators. What fun!!

We were at POFQ from 7/30-8/8. But believe me, we were hardly at the resort (always at the parks!). Although I think I like the "feel" of POR better, I did appreciate the busses. There's nothing like leaving the parks at closing and seeing what seems like hundreds of people waiting at the other resorts and maybe only 75 at POFQ. One night we left MK at 7pm and it was just us 2 on the bus. Also had no problem making our 7AM PS for CM. I didn't really like the food court, POR was much better. We were in building 1 on the back side, room 1313 (!!) but it wasn't too bad of a walk. Boatwrights is just a quick walk away for the banana stuffed toast for breakfast. I would stay here again but I'm kind of in the "try every moderate resort" state of mind.

LOVE this thread!! Just booked POFQ for 10 nights next June!!!! I'm SO excited!! :Pinkbounc

Would like to request a corner room, but some of the pics I've seen show the stairs on the corners. All all buildings like that? Is it noisier with people going up and down the stairs? Are the stairs your "view" outside the extra window?

Can't wait til June!!!!

DO NOT even remotely think about noise :) Not once did we even HEAR any yelling or running ....or noise outside our room. Our room was a corner BUT it was where the two parts come together to form the "T" shape of the building. If it's on the actual ends it will have the DOUBLE windows!

Check out my pictures, it has one and shows the outside of our room!

You would have never been able to tell it was summer at the resort if it wasn't the heat, there wasn't huge masses of people everywhere! It was so open and whether it was the foodcourt, gameroom, or bus stop we NEVER felt packed in!

Enjoy!

That's great to hear. We are going to be there Christmas week. I'm expecting everything to be crowded but, hoping that the resort will be somewhat quieter. :goodvibes Your experience gives me hope. :wave2:
