Wanted a water view room but they are already out of water views for the middle week of October. We requested Building 5 so does anyone have an idea of what a standard view from here could look like?

THANKS, in advance!

Kapp

GoingtoDisney-The pack n plays are free. We have stayed at POFQ twice now with our young boys, we love it there and so do they!

Kapp-If you look at this map, http://allearsnet.com/acc/pomap1.jpg , you will see that bldg #5 rooms look at either the river, the pool or the courtyard. We had the courtyard view in that bldg (3rd floor) and it is beautiful! The pool view would be nice too, but maybe a little more noisy...

:flower: Question on taking Disney bus to parks or taking rental car? :flower:
We are staying at POFQ: Which parks would you prefer to take car and park. And, which parks would we be better of just taking Bus? We will have 2 children and a stroller.
We do plan to be there right up to closing: So, also interested in how crazy the parking lots are compared to bus stops?

My family would like to be in Buidling 5 since we will have two young children (close to the pool and snacks). We will be using two rooms and have requested connecting rooms.

Are there many connecting rooms at POFQ? The building is more important than connecting since we could survive with adjoining. Do I need to remove connecting to better my chances of being in #5?

Thanks.

thank you for the great pictures. we made last minutes ressies and got in.
8 days to go..... :cool1:

We are going in late July and have decided to try FQ before heading to our DVC room at Beach Club.... Hoping for a good AP rate so we can stay 5 nights at FQ!

:earsboy: O.K. POFQ veterans, please help :earsboy:
DH keeps asking if we are taking the Disney bus or parking
at the parks.
I'm pretty sure taking the bus to MK is the best choice, but
what about the other parks?
We will have a rental car, and we have two 5. yr.olds and a
stroller. And, coming back in the afternoons for a rest/swim :sunny:

Are we better off driving or taking the bus to the parks?
:hourglass 18 days to go !!! :hourglass

I would say taking the bus is your best bet....you can usually get to any park within 20 minutes and you avoid parking and traffic....plus you probably would not have to walk as far if you walked to the bus station versus the parking lot.

And...the buses run pretty frequently. We left the parks in the afternoon to take little breaks and we rarely had to wait long and very very convenient.

Have fun!!!

Quick question...

We have stayed at POFQ before but drove instead of using the bus system (what were we thinking?). I need a room that is close to the food court and buses. What is my best request? We have a DD 4.5, DS 2.5, and I am 6 months pregnant. Trying to be close to cut down on walking. We will have our double stroller with us.

Thanks

Tiredmommy,

Boy, you are brave! :-) The buildings closest to the food court and bus stop would be Building 3, followed by Building 4 and 7. But I think Building 3 is the closest of the three.

Good luck and have fun!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Tiredmommy,

I have stayed in both building 7 and 3. Building 7 is OK, but definitely the furthest away from your needs. When we stayed in bldg 3 last September, we also had a double stroller that doubles as a bike pull-behind, so it was rather large. What we found the most convenient was that we left the stroller with the luggage CM's. We (DW, DS(2) and DD(5) at the time) would leave the room in the morning, walk right by the luggage CM's, get the stroller and continue on to either the busses or the Food Court. Building 3 was close enough to go to the pool to be there in about 3 minutes. Being 6 mos. pregnant and with DS, you may not want to be without a stroller. We solved this by renting a stroller from our transportation company for something like $20 bucks for the week. We simply used this stroller for walking around the resort. PM me if you want some more info on some other companies that could rent you a stroller for the week.

Thanks to you both. From looking at the map I thought 4 was closest, because it looked like the bus stop was on that side. We have stayed in 7 and 5 before both of which were fine, but like you said 7 can be pretty far. So can 5 depending on where you are. We were on the front corner so it was a great room.

I'm not so worried about the being close to the pool. It will be DH's job to go while I nap with DS. I'm sure I'll be the food runner though, so the food court is important.

I chose to stay here because of it's compact size so I know it's not too bad. I knew I didn't want to be WAY out in POR. We have stayed there twice as well in Alligator Bayou. POFQ is my favorite though. We only chose POR because FQ was closed.

Only 10 days til we leave! I'm so excited, even if I am doing it pregnant!

Thanks again!
Brandi

I know that this might have been asked earlier, but which rooms/buildings have been renovated?

All of the rooms at the resort have been renovated.

We leave for WDW on June 1st for five nights/six days at the POFQ! :cool1: :cool1: My partner and I can't wait :Pinkbounc - it's our second consecutive trip during that particular lifestyle celebration ;) at WDW that's held during the first week of June. (Last year we stayed at the amazing Wilderness Lodge :rotfl: , but money is tighter this year :sad2: .) To all whose radar warning just went up, I assure you that we are very discreet and definitely not flamboyant, and neither are our friends who may be meeting us there - and this year we have family joining us, too! :grouphug:

Two questions: 1) are there refrigertaors in every room, or does one need to make a special arrangement for that? 2) Is it worth a call to central reservations (or the POFQ itself) to request a room that doesn't have a view of a parking lot? (We reserved a standard room w/o a pool or water view.)

P.S. Our "zone" :earseek: is walking up Main Street to the hub and watching "Wishes" in front of Cinderella's Castle - the height of Disney magic for us! :wizard: .

Every room has a fridge. I don't know if you would be able to get a view other than the parking lot, since that is what the standard view is, but it wouldn't hurt to wait till your trip is a little closer and then call POFQ directly to make any requests. Never hurts to ask.

I am sure this has been asked before, but which building is closest to the pool and which is closest to the POR pool? Is the pool at POR within walking distance?

Thanks!

I've stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Beach CLub, Caribbean Beach and POFQ and POFQ is my favorite. The grounds are beautiful and the resort is so small it's easy to navigate. Last year we had a standard view room in building 3 and our view was of the courtyard. If you were in a higher floor you might see the parking lot, but it's a little way off. This building is also close to the food court and the bus stop. We've requested it again for our trip in June. We'll be there June 3 - 11. If you see a frazzeled red head trying to keep up with 3 blonde teenagers it will be me!
