The 100% Original POFQ FAQ

We are planning a June trip and would like to stay at one of the Moderate resorts. We were there last june and stayed at POP. Our only (small) complaint was the bus stops. You had to basically stand in the sun and roast. For this trip we are looking at POFQ as our first choice and any other moderate as our second choice. My main question is how was the bus service and is the one pool big enough for the June crowd?

Hi all! My GF and I are going in March and was wondering how far in advance do I have to make a carriage ride reservation? Also, are there fridges in all the buildings yet? Thanks!

are all corner rooms king rooms? thanks!

is there a bldg that one would suggest (standard room) that would be easier for us (as in walking distance to buses/food court and easy to load/unload all the stuff a baby requires? :teeth: ... we will be travelling with a 1 yr old) Thanks!

Not all the corner rooms are kings - we had a corner room with 2 double beds (and a pack n play).

We also had a 1 year old, I know what you mean about stuff!

The food court and buses are in the opposite direction to the parking lot, so I would suggest a room closer to them, and using bell services for loading/unloading your stuff.
We carried it all across from the parknig lot, because it never occurred to me that there was another way, and a nice lady in a golf cart stopped and gave us a lift.
I think we were in room 2101 - it was right on the corner, and very near the food court and bus stop

Our only (small) complaint was the bus stops. You had to basically stand in the sun and roast.

the bus stop at POFQ is under cover, there is only one stop but it has seats and a shelter to wait in.

We were there in October, but the pool was plenty big enough, my dd loved it

Also, are there fridges in all the buildings yet?
Yes, there are!

How large are the inside of the refrigerators that are in the rooms? Will they hold a gallon of milk or would a half-gallon fit better?

1/2 gallon would definitely be better. I doubt you could get a full gallon in there.

Does anyone know what buildings are smoking?? I would like a non-smoking room and I wonder is building 5 non?? :flower:

We stayed in building 5 and it is a non smoking building. Lovely resort, lovely rooms, and building 5 is a great choice: next to laundry facilities, pool, hot tub, playground, and the boat rides to DTD and Riverside.

I have a question for those of you familiar with the FQ. My family and I will be making our first Disney trip in September, and will be staying at the FQ. I saw on the first page that standard rooms had views of the courtyard, landscaping, or parking lots. Is this still the case? I think that I would much rather have a view of the courtyard than parking lots, but don't want to upgrade if possible. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know about cribs at pofq ... are they like the pack and plays or a crib? Thanks in advance!

When we had an infant at POFQ back in 1999 I believe, it was a pack n play. Of course, that was a while ago. But I don't think there would be room for a regular crib. princess:

Thanks TINK for the info! We were hoping for a pack and play since that is what he is used to when we aren't at home! Thanks! :)

We made ressies at POP because of an unexpected expense that popped up but DH and DSis want a hot tub. Is it worth the extra $$ in your opinions to go with the POFQ not just for hot tubs but in general? We can upgrade later.

We stayed at POFQ back in November. The crib was a pack and play. It worked out great b/c it fit in the bathroom area off to the side, so after my son would fall asleep, we'd be able to close the curtain, and not disturb him too much.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this resort!

we also put the pack n play in the bathroom area on a couple of nights when our dd was having trouble falling asleep - it worked really well.
There is also a space between the beds and the door where it will fit quite nicely.

George T - I would say that most of the standard view rooms are of a courtyard - even those that faced the parking lot had some landscaping between them and the cars.
If you look at this map -
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-french.htm

You've got parking lot along the bottom and right hand side, so you can see there is only a very small bit of building 3, 1 and 7 (maybe 5 rooms in each building) that are direclty onto the parking lot, all the rest of the rooms have courtyard before the parking lot, and in fact the vast majority of rooms are within the resort and you can't see the parking lot at all. I think the upgraded rooms are water view which personally I wouldn't pay for as I'd rather have the courtyard view.

Hiya,

Can anyone tell me about Boatwrights? I can't seem to find much about it on any of my usual disney-obsession websites.

Thanks :)

Beth

Have you gone to Deb's unofficial site? I think it has a menu. We ate at Boatwrights a few years back for breakfast. We liked it! I'd go again. The service was great!

Since POR and POFQ are sister resorts, what "benefits" does this allow their guest? Can you refill your mugs from POR or POFQ at either place? or are they like the other resorts?

Can you tell me if POFQ has a kiddie/baby pool? I know Riverside does but am hoping FQ does too.
