thanks!
so it sounds like if I request "1st floor Garden view near bus stop" it would most likely get me 4 or 5 which would be fine either way. I know it is not a long walk anywhere but that request would be my ideal.

We were in 7 with no riverview, but a cornerroom with a great view of hampers next to equipment, and a tree. You had to go wander just to find the pool and the main building. I'm disappointed. But at least ut was a good time to go, no crowds at the parks. Just avoid the park with the extra magic hours. 2nd year in a row...no trace of the dream team. ask for a closer building to get the New Orleans feel...I didn't get it.

DCLLVR--sorry it took me so long to respond--WORKING-UGH!!!
Anyway-I walked to POR one evening--actually a slow stroll was more like it. Didn't note how long it took.
We didn't eat at Boatwright's so can't comment on that either.
Are you getting the feeling that I'm not going to be of much help?:confused3
I do think that LLT on Tday would be perfect.
Guess we got lucky with our stay at POFQ-everything was perfect this time.
Hope all goes well for you. :wizard:

What is Scat Cats? Is this something at POFQ? I've seen it mentioned it another thread so thought I would come ask here. :) TIA!

Scat Cat's is the bar/lounge area in the main building at POFQ. Its next to the food court and across from guest registration. Live music is played there in the evenings, but I'm not sure what the schedule is.

I'll second that opinion of Elliot....he is awesome (can't drag my DH out of the lounge most nights)

Is the ride between POFQ and BB really 50 minutes or so(I'm pretty sure that is what the UG is stating)? I don't mind using the buses, but spending almost two hours on the bus to get back and forth seems like a waste of time. If this is true, maybe I'll consider a taxi.

Maybe they're counting in the time spent waiting for the bus to come? It's definitely not a 50 minute ride. On average it took us less than 10 minutes to make the POR loop no matter where we were going. Then it was maybe a 15 minute ride after that to BB, so 25 minutes or so total. If their ride took 30 minutes and they waited another 20 on a bus they could potentially have had 50 minutes total time invested. We never waited 20 minutes on any bus at POFQ but it has happened elsewhere so I'm sure it's a possibility. As a general rule of thumb we usually leave 45 minutes prior to when we want to get there, an hour if it's important, no matter where we're staying.

My mistake. I went back and looked at the UG numbers and it does include time spent waiting for the bus with the worst case factored in(bus just pulled away and you have to wait 20 minutes for the next one).

Thanks!

happy i found this thread....finally.... we just changed to POFQ for our May trip... :) nowto go threw all these posts.... LOL

Wondering if anyone knows how the rehab on the pool is going at POFQ??? We will be there on March 27th, rehab is supposed to be done.............hopefully on time!

We will be at POFQ early March when the pool is being worked on. I would like to switch resorts because the kids picked this one out of all the mods because of the pool. Now the pool is closed. The other resorts are full. Is anyone else affected by the pool closure?

WE just booked P.O.F.Q for our Dec trip,:cool1: We were going to stay at the Dolphin but...we have stayed at French Quarter before and really love this place...it's like going home.:goodvibes

2 POFQ questions(at least for now)

1. Do they supply towels for the pool? Where would i get them if yes.

2. are the fridges in the room large enough to fit a gallon of milk and some water bottles? or should i just get half gallon so i half room to fit other beverages i want to keep cold.

thanks

1. Yes the supply towels, they are usually near the entrance.

2. A gallon would take up most of the fridge, the shelf is removable. There is room in the door too.

With regards to the milk, we raised the top shelf of the fridge and were able to fit the following all at the same time on the bottom shelf:
1 gallon milk
2 - 1/2 gallon cartons of milk

We were also able to fit about 8 tins of diet coke on the top shelf along with some small bottles of water on their sides on the middle shelf. You can definitely get away with a gallon of milk and all the other stuff you need as you really only need to keep the milk in the fridge at all times - the other stuff you can refigerate as needed daily. Hope this helps!

I can't answer the questions about the pool, as we just returned 2 days ago and the pool was closed.

According to everything I'm reading, it's scheduled to reopen on March 15th. (Hope so, I'm there starting on the 17th). I would think they would want to ensure they make this date since it is the start of Easter week.

Let's Hope!
