Even with looking at the photos of the beds:surfweb: , I can't tell if they are permanently built so they cannot be moved.

We are concerned about the double beds at POFQ. :scared: Can they be pushed together to make a king bed?

I scrolled through the FAQ in detail, but missed anything about this, so sorry if has been posted before.

The bases for the double beds are fixed into place. Although the mattresses will slide off the bases, they cannot be pushed together to make a king bed.

I don't know! I need help! To make sure the POFQ has the correct address. And also they have elevators in this Building?

The address:

2201 Orleans Dr. Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000

is correct. All buildings at POFQ have elevators. I would never stay on the top floor if it didn't.

thank you!skipperkim! Our family will love to stay in the Port Orleans French Quarter.:mickeyjum :figment:::MickeyMo::MinnieMo:cool1::)

I think I am booking FQ this afternoon, but I am lost as to if I should request a building. It will be me and SO. Looking for quiet, but not too far of a walk from the main hub. Maybe building 4? Does it really matter since its such a small resort?

Also, has anyone had Garden Grocer deliver to FQ? We usually stay DVC and have them deliver (just Red Bulls :rotfl:) and I hope it won't be an issue at FQ!! Thanks!!

No, makes no difference. It's a very compact resort. I timed the longest functional walk, from the far end of Building 1 to the food court doors -- 3 minutes 20 seconds at a normal pace. That's the LONGEST walk. In my opinion, building location really means nothing there.

Before I was there, I requested "close to food court and transportation." We checked in at 11 p.m. and I didn't get my request. We got a room at the far end of Building 2. I was very disappointed ... until I got to my room! My 3rd floor room at the far end of Building 2 was an exactly 2 minute walk to the food court doors. 2 minutes! And we were pretty far, by POFQ standards.

Garden Grocer delivers to all WDW resorts (as well as many others in the area, of course).

Hi, we will be there 12-14 to 12-19 and can not wait!! Does anyone know if BDG 4 was ever a smoking one? My DD9 has asthma and I would like to request a "never smoked in" room but would also like a courtyard view if possible close to the main buildings. With that info what should I request? We stayed there last year in BLDG #1 and it was nice but would just love to be able to see the courtyard vs. the parking lot. Thanks!

I have a few questions about the grounds...I have seen a picture of a fountain out in the courtyard between the buildings. Is there more than one of these, not counting the one at check in? Also, I was wondering what the grounds look like at night. I love to walk around at night and was hoping it was dimly lit and pretty, and was maybe lit along the river down to POR. Does anyone have any pictures of night time or know of any links? Thanks for your help, I am one step closer to choosing POFQ as our first WDW resort :)

Thanks for the response! We're booked for December and since the resort is such an easy walk I didn't even bother making a special location request. I'll let pixie dust take the reigns!! :wizard: I'm excited about PO! I just hope the bus situation doesn't become problematic!

I don't believe there is another fountain at POFQ besides the two you mentioned.

I must warn you,my night shots did not turn out at all well and they do not do the resort justice, but you can get a good idea of the lighting at night, so here ya go (in the second pic you can see the lights along the Sassagoula on the way to POR):

Did you all hear my heart go pitter patter? Tinks Pixieduster, those photos were exactly what I was looking for...looks absolutely beautiful. I've been to New Orleans many times in the past and it brought me back to my college days walking down the French Quarter. Thank you so much for your pictures, you just made my night:cloud9:

You're welcome! I'm going to try taking some night shots again when I go down in 12 days, and I'm hoping for better results.

I saw that you were going in less than two weeks! You are so lucky. Post away any pictures you have. I just showed my DH and we are both drooling :) Have a great time, and can't wait to hear about your trip when you get back!

Make sure to tell your resident CM, Casabella (she works in Jackson Square) and my friend Capt Grant (on one of the boats to DTD) hi for me. He's very funny.

Honestly no hotel could ever make that claim that a room has never been smoked in. I'd suggest building 3. It's closer to the food court and was designated a non smoking building before the lastest change. But as I stated, that may not mean much.
