There are very few King rooms that are not handicapped. We made room only reservations the day they came open for the next year and didn't get 1. Supposedly only 10% of the rooms are King and I don't know what % of those are handicapped as well. They also are priced the same as water view.

Are there any king bed rooms in building 4 or 5?? something close to bus stop and food court?? Will be there April 15-21!!!!!!!!! This will be our third time at POFQ! We love it!

I just booked our first stay at POFQ. Our party this time consists of me, my mom and my 2 boys (5 & 7). My mom uses a scooter to get around so I requested a room close to a bus stop. Other than that is there anything special I should request? Any particular building?

Thanks :)

I would request 1st floor. The buildings do have elevators but they are at one end of the building so if your room is at the other end of the building it can a pain.

I second asking for a first floor room. This resort is nice because it is so compact so I never waste the money asking for a preferred room unless I want a river view room - which I haven't in years.

This is our favorite moderate. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we always do.

Thanks for the advice! I will call and add 1st floor request to our ressie.

I'm sure were are going to love it! I know the kids will love the pool and I love New Orleans/Mardi Gras so I will really enjoy the theme. My mom, well she just loves everything so I know she will enjoy it! We are really looking forward to it!

Will the front desk be able to do our airline check-in for our departure?

We do not have seats confirmed until we check in! I know the deluxe resorts have that... not sure about mods!

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

Only 24 days to goooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

We were there 2 weeks ago, and my mom and sister had flown Southwest. For Southwest airlines, you can print your tickets at Guest Services or the Concierge desk 24 hours prior to your flight. For 8 other airlines, there is an actual check in desk (sorry I can't remember the ones that were listed on the sign.) Hope that helps!

If smoke will be that much of a negative issue for you, AND if no one in your party has a mobility impairment, then you're better off just NOT requesting Building 4. That's my recommendation to you.

It's tough to get across just how compact POFQ is. Take a look at the map below. Look for Building 2. Now go up Building 2 towards the river, and follow the building around to that "arm" that goes off to the right on the river end of the building. That's where my room was, on the 3rd floor.

From that point, including taking the stairs or elevator, it took me exactly 2 minutes to walk to the food court.

I hope that helps illustrate for you how small and convenient POFQ is.

By contrast, my room in a preferred location building at CBR was a 5 minute walk to the food court, and like I said, that was from one of the CLOSEST rooms.

And yes, I actually DID time these walks and write them down, just for situations like this!

Thank you for posting the resort map and all of your information.

Great info, thanks! I sure hope American is on that list!

I'm pretty sure it was. They were very common ones. That's why we were surprised Southwest wasn't one of them. I actually took a picture of the sign, but it didn't turn out because my battery died right as I took it and I forgot to go back and take another one the next day.

:cloud9: I will be going back to POFQ in about 30 days! It is my 30th birthday trip and my sisters 1st trip. I can not wait!! I am so excited!

Is there a separate kiddie pool? I couldn't find pictures of a kiddie pool, but I've seen lots of pictures of the water slide and pool area. If there is a kiddie pool, is it possible that someone could post a picture or a link to one?

We are taking a trip back to POFQ in early March (we are doing a split stay). We haven't been to POFQ since our honeymoon in '99 and now we're bringing our DS(3). I'm sooo excited!:donald:

This thread is great! Thanks for all of the information.:teacher: :thumbsup2

Yes, there is it's right between the main pool area and the playground. I don't have any pictures of it but you might be able to find some on AllEars. The pool area is nice because everything is right near each other. You can easily bask in the sun while one kid plays in the kiddie pool, see another on the playground, and hubby can have a drink at the bar. It's a neat little area. There's a map thats quote in post 890 above. See where the star is? That's the playground and the kiddie pool is right above it although it isn't marked.
