CleveRocks - Thanks for posting that. DH and I figure that if you walk faster than us (my DH can be as slow as Eeyore!) then we'll make it in 3-4 minutes! LOL Seriously... thanks again!

If smoke will be that much of a negative issue for you, AND if no one in your party has a mobility impairment, then you're better off just NOT requesting Building 4. That's my recommendation to you.

It's tough to get across just how compact POFQ is. Take a look at the map below. Look for Building 2. Now go up Building 2 towards the river, and follow the building around to that "arm" that goes off to the right on the river end of the building. That's where my room was, on the 3rd floor.

From that point, including taking the stairs or elevator, it took me exactly 2 minutes to walk to the food court.

I hope that helps illustrate for you how small and convenient POFQ is.

By contrast, my room in a preferred location building at CBR was a 5 minute walk to the food court, and like I said, that was from one of the CLOSEST rooms.

And yes, I actually DID time these walks and write them down, just for situations like this!

Thanks, that really helped.

I'm sorry if this was already asked, but I did a search and it didn't show up. Is there WiFi access at POFQ?? Thanks!!
There is no wireless internet access at POFQ, but the resort does provide high speed internet access in each room. When we stayed there last September I took photos of what is provided (below). The cost is $9.95 for a 24-hour period.

I did not have my laptop with me so I didn't use this internet connection, but other DISers have posted that the "high speed" is sometimes not very fast, probably at times when demand is high.

I don't know if there are any wireless internet access locations on Disney property, so I can't give you an answer to that question.

Thank you!! It's good to know they provide the cable too :) There is WiFi other places on Disney property, I found the info on AllEarsNet, but some people had posted that things had changed since they last updated, so I thought I'd check about POFQ. Thanks so much!!!

I'm curious about the rooms too. A corner room with a king bed sounds great:banana: I would also rather be near a fountain or cozy garden area than the pool or food court. Anyone have any ideas on what I might ask for? thanks in advance!!!;)

In December 2005, we stayed in building 2 a standard view room. When we walked out of the room we looked on a court yard. I believe our room number was 2410 (???). Anyway, this Christmas trip we will be staying there again. It's just so peaceful and beautiful.

To Anyone who is just back-
Was the food court crowded with guests coming over from POR?

We will be at POFQ 1/27-2/3.

Just wondering what to expect.

What is the best way to get there... we don't have a car. So, do we take a bus to MK and walk?

Help me out!! There are 9 of us!

Can't wait... 44 more days!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Yup, that's the best way.

I've never done it myself, but I've read stories here on the DIS about people doing that, and mentioning to the driver that they were heading for a Chef Mickey's ADR, and the driver dropping them off at Contemporary!:wizard:

Yep! They did that for us! Dropped us right off at the bus station then we took the elevators on up. It was great. Then we rode the monorail right over to the Magic Kingdom! Never had to worry about parking a car or anything. That's definately the best way to do it :thumbsup2

I just got back from POFQ (1/4-1/7), and I didn't think the food court was too bad. Yes, it was busy, but the times I was there it wasn't crazy. Hope that helps!

When we went we took a bus to MK and then walked. The bus driver actually was willing to drop us off at the Contemporary but, there were other families going into MK for breakfast.

I am wondering if anyone at POFQ recently can remember what fountain drinks were available? Specifically I am looking for non-carbonated for my kids. Like Powerade or Lemonade?

Thanks a bunch! I can't wait to get back.

Did you have any favorites at the food court?

Hi I have pics in my siggy and some of the food court and the fountain drinks.

Good luck

I just wanted to say I just got back from POFQ after a 3 night stay over marathon weekend and it was marvelous!

It was my third stay and I did hop over to Pop for one night to sleep. (I let my friend's husband bunk with her prior to the half marathon so went to his room at Pop.) Although Pop is fine if that's all the budget pays for, I could not wait to get back to POFQ. The beds are softer and a million other things were better.

I must admit I had planned to persuade my husband to stay at the Poly for our upcoming trip but after visiting the Poly and getting lost I didn't even have it in me. Our stay at POFQ I couldn't find anything to justify my argument.

We stayed in building 4 room 4225. It was second floor, near the stair case closest to the main building, and facing the garden with a partial view of the parking lot. We loved the location because it was so close to the food court - but really no location is far.

The food court was fine, mousekeeping was great, all the staff were friendly and helpful except for one (but there's always one in every family :)), the busses were great, the boat to DTD was fantastic, and I thought it was a perfect location for people running in the races. I couldn't have been happier.

I'm looking forward to May and our next stay. Any questions are welcome.

Did you have any favorites at the food court?

I had dinner there twice, and enjoyed both entrees: the chicken caesar salad (huge portion for I think $6.95) and the chicken parmesan with salad. I would recommend both. Hope that helps!

I also liked the Caesar salad, with or without chicken -- good and fresh. Actually, I loved it. I really looked forward to it.

I found the jambalaya to be decent enough -- it was well-made, but it wasn't spicy like I prefer it, and I understand that because they have to make it palatable for a wide range of people. I didn't think the seafood and chicken creole was anything special, especially because it had almost no seafood in it -- I think I found a little lost shrimp in there.

The cheesesteak sandwich was prety good, which is INCREDIBLY high praise from a Philadelphia native like myself.

Gotta try the beignets (pronounced ben-YAYS) at the bakery. They are little rectangles of dough that get deep fried for a coupla minutes. Each one puffs up with a huge air pocket (looks like an overstuffed ravioli or pierogi), and then they get smothered with powdered sugar. They come in orders of 3 or 6. They are good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and any time in-between.:rotfl:

We thought the for breakfast the scrambled eggs were some of the best we'd had anywhere. The sausage gravy had too much flour in it so I wouldn't recommend that.

For lunch/dinner the grilled chicken sandwich and cheesburgers were the best. We tried the pizza, subs, steaks sandwiches, and a couple other things and they were fine but not as good as the first few things I mentioned.
