Anyone going to be a POFQ mid to late(ish) September that would be willing to send my DD a postcard announcing our mother/daughter MNSSHP trip?

We are arriving at POFQ on Friday, October 3 and I would love for her to get a postcard WITH THE PINK DRAGON SLIDE on it (that's the whole reason I booked this resort...she saw it on one of the travel channels shows and I already had a girls tripped planned but switched from Pop to POFQ...all for a slide :)

Anywho, if someone has a September trip planned and would be willing to send DD a postcard, please PM me.

I'm willing to return the favor when we are there :)

Thanks!!

What a neat idea, wish I could help but I'm going after you.

It's a short walk! Taking your time it would not take more than 15 mins - if a little one is skipping or running, then even less :)It's a really pretty walk too.

We've been to WDW many times with 4 & 6 yr olds during July and they've never needed a stoller - never even thought of that! So your little one should be fine on the walk to Riverside :)

Enjoy!!

The water at the slide is pretty deep. I'm 5'1" and it comes up to about my chest there. If he's feeling brave enough you might be able to catch him at the bottom. Otherwise, I'd say it's difficult to go down and not go under.

Thank you! I wonder if I could get him a life vest and that would help him?

They do have a lot of life vests available near the towel stand (near the bar) and I've seen plenty of kids coming down the slide in them :thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me how far a walk it is from FQ over to Riverside. I have dd who is 6 and ds who is 13 and would like to maybe eat at Riverside. Will it be too much on little legs. Thanks

Don't forget there is a boat also -- it is a very pretty and relaxing boat ride over to Riverside.

I found someone to help me out. They are going about 2 weeeks before...actually I've had two offers, but one is cutting it pretty close. I'm willing to return the favor if anyone needs it while I'm there....Oct 3 - 6 :)

A search for this info came up with nada and I figured some of you knew the answer so- how long is the walk from POFQ to DTD? DD has a very early appt. at BBB before the boat is running and I was considering walking her over instead of waiting for a bus.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it is possible to walk to DTD from POFQ! On a map, it looks like a long way! If the boat is not running yet, the bus would probably be your best bet, unless you have a car! :)

No way to walk from Port Orleans to DTD I'm afraid. What time do you need to be there, I didn't think BBB opened until 10am? You can get a bus at 9am or earlier - it serves Typhoon Lagoon as well.

As we will be drinking I don't want to take our rental car over...if we take the boat to get there is there a bus that can bring us back or do I have to get a cab? I know the last boat leaves at like 11:00pm and I am thinking to be a PI until around 1.

Buses will run past "last call."

Thank you both for the info. A CM actually recommended walking to me as a "quick way to hop over". Her appt is at 10 a.m. now that I look at it, but I thought I was told there was an appt before then open also??? I guess we will be taking the bus over.

I know this sounds crazy but can anyome mail me a map of the resort that you get when you check in? I know I can print one out from allears or dis boards but I would like to have the one you get at check in.
PLEASE

At POFQ - any of them is close really.

We were in building 4 in a standard room. We had a courtyard/parking lot view - saw more of the courtyard than the parking lot - and we were very close to everything. It was very quiet and while the pool felt close when we wanted to go over to it, we never heard any of the noise from it. Food court was a short walk away too. I think we only ate there once, so I can't recommend anything. The bus stop was very close to our building, but we had a car, so we never used the buses.

BTW, there is only 1 pool at POFQ. No quiet pools. And there isn't a sit-down restaurant. But you can use the amenties at the sister resort - POR. They have a sit-down restaurant and another pool. You could walk there, but with your surgery, probably won't want to. Or you could take the boat over. (There's also a boat to Downtown Disney.)

I have some pics from our stay posted in another thread.
