Yay i ve finally located this thread,I struggled to find it for a while ;)

I need some advice :)

We ve just booked with Virgin Holidays our trip for our wedding/honeymoon in next may. We re staying at Poly for 7 nights & are then transferring over to POFQ for 13 nights :thumbsup2.

However when the rep asked me if i had any special requests my mind went blank "i had nt researched which rooms are the best to request :headache: ".

So i need some help, we re staying in a standard room. As its our honeymoon we would like a nice quite location with nice views.

Can anyone please make any suggestions on where abouts we should request to stay

Thankyou :goodvibes

We always stay at the FQ and reserve the king bed room. Most, if not all of the king rooms are corner rooms. They seem larger and have two windows. We always ask for bldg. 2 at the FQ....beacuse there seems to be no bad view in bldg. 2. We have either gotten a view of the river, fountain garden, or the pool. Even the pool view seemed pretty quiet. I would check the FQ map and avoid any bldg that sits next to one of the parking lots ( to avoid the chance of getting a view of the asphalt.)

We have also stayed in a standard room in bldg. 2, but those full beds get smaller, day by day!

Good luck and congrats.......I am so jealous....can we go along. You have chosen to stay at two of my fav. resorts. I hope to plan the same trip, in a couple of years for our 30th anniv., but for now....I will be happy to go to the FQ every year for 8-9 days.

PS. Be sure to stop down to the Scat Cat lounge at the FQ and see Elliot Dyson. He's there nightly from Wed. to Sat. He an awesome entertainer!

Can you get king size beds in a standard room??
Does building 2 have many standard rooms?? My mums flying out with us too & will be transferring from poly over to POFQ as well, we want her room to be fairly close by but not next door if you get me ;)

Sorry 1 more q :cutie: , where abouts is building 2 located?

Thankyou :goodvibes

Bldg. 2 is located on the river......to the right of the pool. Do you have a map of the FQ? If not PM me and I will give you a website I think has the lay out.

Bldg 2. has standard, water view and king rooms. I would not spend the money for a water view in Bldg. 2...not worth it because 60% of the time your cheapo standard ends up to be a water view. The difference between a king and standard is.......standard has 2 full-size beds...and the king has 1 giant king bed.

Yes you can request a standard close by the king room...we did it when we took my parents. Last year we requested to standards close-by but not connecting, because of my parents age. Well, I think they thought they were doing us a favor and gave us connecting rooms. My Dad kept coming into our room to visit and mooch a glass of wine, caught me half dressed one time!:scared1: Not good for newlyweds, ;)

At POFQ, a king-size bed room is a separate room category. If you want to guarantee yourself a king-size bed, then you must reserve and pay for it. If you merely request it, chances are you won't get it (since everyone who is paying for it is in line ahead of you).

POFQ is so small and pleasantly compact that there's no such thing as a bad location or a location that's far from anything. Here's a link to a map:

Hi, congrats! We arranged our wedding at Disney through Virgin and they were great (not words you often get to say about Virgin!!!)!

We are just back from POFQ, and stayed in building three - I will request it again if I ever go there as it was just two minutes from pool, foodcourt etc. Its a lovely hotel, you will have a great time!

Ah I see, we booked the whole Disney wedding through them - pure laziness! They arranged photographer, video, flowers and everything!! That was before I knew these Dis boards were here to help me!!

Building 3 was quiet, but to be honest I found the whole resort peaceful (apart from the food court at breakfast!!:) ) so I don't think you will have a problem. We looked out over paths and trees - lovely. Room 3227 if you are lucky enough to get it!!!

FF - If you want a room with a king size bed as one of the PP's said you'll need to pay for it more than likely. There aren't that many of them. Standard rooms are 2 double beds. Be sure to visit the hot tub, it is very secluded. Also, did you know there is a carriage ride at POR? The boat ride to DTD is really nice too. Oh, and the pictures of the roooms at POFQ on the portleans website belong to yours truly. :D

DH and I are planning a trip to Disney in October. We have two boys ages 3 and 5. Last September we stayed at WL and loved it, but just can't afford a Deluxe resort this year. We stayed at POFQ ten years ago on our honeymoon and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back but must say I'm quite concerned with the double bed issue. My husband and I both are pooh size and found the queen bed at WL to be just the right size (We sleep on a king at home) and I'm positive that we could not share a double bed. I think we will each have to have a our own bed - but it's hard sharing a bed with the kids. I have an aero bed - it's full size and both the boys could share it - they love sleeping on it, but will it fit in the room? :confused3

I just booked my room only for Feb 1-7 2009. ;)

I am sooooo excited. Have never stayed at POFQ.:goodvibes

Can hardly wait for packages to come out...:worship:

Hmm, think it would be pretty tight with a dble aero bed - not even sure where it would fit.

Could they both possibly fit on the rollaway? It would fit right in the corner behind the door, next to one of the beds, so no one could fall out.

Good luck..hope something works out great for you! :)
