Our October dates are 10/7-10/15. Porter's birthday and our wedding anniversary are this week so it seemed like a great time to go back to WDW to celebrate. Porter is very excited about going back... thinking of booking the Pirates and Pals Firework Cruise for his birthday. He adores Peter Pan and Hook so I think it would be a fun experience for him.
So a little bit of overlap there. We're leaving on the 9th. A birthday and an anniversary to celebrate sounds fun. The Pirates and Pals cruise would be awesome! I bet it would a fun experience for everyone.
You are so right. Once Carter is 40 inches, it will provide a entirely new dimension to WDW. Porter was exactly 40 in when we went to WDW this Fall. In addition to the Barnstormer (which he had rode the previous Nov), he got to try Kali River Rapids, Splash Mountain, and BTMR. He LOVED them! We rode them over and over and over... so glad it was crowded! It was so great to see his reaction to the thrill rides. He was still just 2 y/o (35 months) so we were slightly worried about him getting jostled on BTMR, but they let him sit in the middle on DH and me. Sandwiched between the two of us, he was nice and secure. Is Carter getting close to 40 inches?
Carter's not too close to 40 inches yet. He was 36 inches when he turned 2, but that was barefoot...so maybe by October he'd have a chance. Baby swap would be so much more fun if we could take turns riding with Carter and doing something fun with Landon. It's probably a long shot though.
Blue Dog and New Dog... sounds like a line out of a Dr. Seuss book. So glad that Blue Dog has a new friend. I went a got a "just in case Lovey" once we got home from WDW, but we have never needed it. Audrey Anne and Lovey sadly grew apart after she started walking. Lovey has been replaced by a nameless Lamb and Blankie.
That's kind of sad. Poor Lovey. I really need to search for another Tigger, for Landon. I think he's even more attached to his Tigger than Carter is to Blue Dog or Bear. Landon likes classic Tigger. Once, when his Tigger was wet, I tried to substitute Disney Tigger, but Landon kept throwing it out of his crib. I guess he knew it was an impostor.
I say, brilliance! If you can cook, clean, grocery shop, and survive daily life with little ones, you can definitely survive Disney by yourself. Meal times might be a little difficult. But if you have ever eaten with them by yourself at a food court, I would think it would be similar. We have always found that our kiddos are better at WDW than anywhere else... probably because it is an entire week filled of activities exclusively for them! With your laid back approach, you guys will have a great time! I tried last night to convince my husband to book a last minute weekend trip in May to compete in the Everest Challenge... he wasn't buying it.

Oh well, I still have a month...
I think the meal times will be okay, with careful planning and foresight. I eat lunch every day with both of them, so it's really not too different, if I come up with practical strategies for getting our food and high chairs. I've got some ideas. I do think our boys tend to be easy at WDW, too. There's just so much for them to do. I think the Everest Challenge is going on the same weekend we will be there. I don't think Landon is up for it, yet though.
It's never too late for a last minute trip. A month is plenty of time.
I'm sure they will do great! As I was reading your TR and how Illuminations just doesn't seem to work out for you guys, I was thinking that you guys should try Rose and Crown. We always make a ressie for the hour or so before Illuminations begins and request outdoor seating. From the patio, you will have a great view (not perfect) of Illuminations as you enjoy your dessert. Plus, the food is fantastic!
One of my fondest Disney memories is dining at Rose and Crown during Illuminations. It was on my 18th birthday trip and we didn't have ADRs and only ate there because it happened to be rainy and we were hungry. We got the perfect table and the perfect view...
The boys might do better sitting through Illuminations if they were eating at the same time. The only trouble is, when we look at the Food and Wine menus from last year, we want to try nearly every item, which is going to seriously cut down on our opportunities to eat any where else at Epcot.
Life is all about taking risk...
You win some, you lose some... I hope you win the next one!
Me, too. There's a lot of Vinylmation pressure on the last day of a vacation.
