That's the Second Biggest Double Stroller I've Ever Seen- A Dec 2010 TR

Poor Landon!!! I can't figure out why a baby with no shoes would be a big deal :confused3 bummer....

I'm not even sure why any kid without shoes would be a big deal. Most playgrounds like kids to wear socks and no shoes.

Bucket Hoarders! :lmao: you were probably the gossip of the boneyard! My boys wore Robeez from birth-2 years. They are excellent for babies and walkers. Since they are soft leather, they are close to bare feet but the bottoms protect their feet when out. And they are SO CUTE. I believe there are some Disney designs as well, but that was when Finn was a baby. I always bought them on eBay. They also resell really well. www.robeez.com

We must have looked like awful people to the all the little kids wanting our bucket. I suppose it would have been nice to leave the buckets behind and make some little kid very happy, but when it came right down to it, my first concern was for Carter and Landon to be very happy. And they did like those buckets. They still play with them.

I considered getting Landon some Robeez. I was afraid the elastic around his heels would dig in and hurt him. He has very sensitive feet. The elastic never bothers your kids?

You must have been the most popular person in the boneyard since you were hanging on to all the buckets!:lmao:

It doesn't make much sense that they require a baby to have shoes. Clearly, in your pictures, he was crawling and not walking. I guess a rule is a rule and the only way rules really work is if you put them in place and enforce them for everyone.... We didn't put our little guy in shoes either until he was about 1. He'd been walking for a couple of months by then, and honestly, it was almost cruel. He had to kind of relearn the walking concept with extra weight hanging on his feet and he wasn't too happy about it.:rotfl2: I'm with you though, I don't see the point of putting them in shoes until they're walking and actually need them for protection. As quick as they grow, no point replacing more clothing items than necessary.

Next time we venture into the Digsite with our own buckets, I think I'm going to make sure to mark them somehow. Maybe some stickers or just writing "CARTER" and "LANDON" with a black marker.

I sort of think babies should be beneath the rules. That sounds really sad, your little guy having to learn to walk with shoes on. Landon was funny the first time he tried on a shoe. He kept shaking his foot, like he thought he could just shake it off. :rotfl:

The shoe thing is just crazy to me. If a child isn't walking, they're not supposed to be wearing shoes yet! Neither of my boys did. That's nuts.

Bucket hoarding is just too funny! :lmao: I can only imagine what the rest of the parents must've been thinking of you. :rotfl:

The Shoe Enforcer was a guy who looked to be about twenty years old, so I suppose I can't expect him to know too much about babies. I'd like to know what they are trying to accomplish with that rule.

I don't even want to think of what all the other parents thought of us. :rotfl: Maybe they should put up a sign at the Digsite, saying buckets come with kid's meals at Restaurantosaurus. I bet they'd get some customers that way.

Hmmmm...I never noticed the elastic bugging him. Ethan had super fat feet and Finn has ver petite feet. I seriously loved those shoes, though. They wore them everywhere. Now I notice they have a new line with waterproof bottoms. That would have been nice. I'd recommend getting a pair from eBay to try out. Or I think you can probably try them on at the stores. I like that they are machine washable too.

I could understand the shoe issue if he was walking and their were pepples or something...but it was sand. :confused3

You bucket hoarder you...shame on you! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LOL, I can't believe those kids and the buckets! :rotfl: And I can't believe they said Landon couldn't play without shoes! :sad2: I could understand if he was walking, but if he's just crawling around, being supervised, it should be fine! :confused3

ITA I wish I had known about them with the 1st two kids but DS3 had really fat feet too and they never seemed to bother him and he could not kick them off.

What mean parents not sharing your buckets:lmao: Where did you get the buckets?

Waterproof bottoms do sound useful for Landon. He goes out of his way to play in any water or mud he encounters. I'll have to check them out next time someone needs shoes.

I'm not really sure what the Digsite dirt is made of. It's not really sand or dirt or real rocks. Maybe little pieces of plastic or something? Whatever it was, it sure wasn't bothering Landon. He was having a great time.

It was my bucket!

I guess a bucket and a shovel is a big deal in the Digsite. Landon was fine playing. I think it really should have been up to me whether or not Landon could play.

Not being able to kick off baby shoes is a big plus! Landon ended up getting some Crocs and he can take them off himself whenever he gets bored, so I'm always making sure he still has both of them.

They really should advertise the buckets coming with the kids meals at Restaurantosaurus a bit better. :rotfl:

Great tip about the buckets at restaurantosaurus! We almost never eat there, but if I can get Everett a bucket, I think we could try it out! Your food looked really good, didn't that place use to serve McDonalds?

Crazy about getting busted by the shoe police! Everett never wore shoes until he was walking. We didn't even have baby shoes with us when we went in Oct! I'm glad we didn't run into any problems, but we didn't venture into the boneyard.

I also agree that robeez are the best! I've bought Everett multiple pairs and he really likes them. The elastic hasn't bothered his feet or ankles and he has really wide feet. We always wear them with socks, so that might make a difference. They sell faux robeez at target, but they are not nearly as cute (but much cheaper!) Robeez have really been my downfall when it comes to overbuying baby items, I've been really good about everything else, but I'm sunk when it comes to cute little shoes! :scared1:

Right now he owns four pairs in his size, and I have to really resist buying more!

The shoe incident seemed a little ridiculous. I used to work at a daycare and the babies were "supposed" to wear their shoes, but I never really enforced the rule, because their socks were sufficient. I guess perhaps the CM was afraid some older child would accidentally step on Landon's toes.
But, either way, it looked like you guys made the most of the situation and were able to catch a nice break in the baby-care center.

Hope Epcot didn't become even more crowded!

Crocks are a bad shoe for that dig site too.....DD had a pair on and had taken them off....she was told she had to have them on and after a few more times of them filling up with the rocks she had enough. Then it was off to climbing and running.

That's a pretty cool looking playground! :thumbsup2 I love that they have playgrounds at Disney for kids to just run and get their energy out...you wouldn't think, with everything there is to do at Disney, but sometimes you need simple things like that!

I love the Gran Fiesta Tour, one of my favorites!

PS-Did you see October hours are out on the Disney TA site? We can finally plan!!!

Cars is my sons FAVORITE movie. He's been watching it since he was about a year old. And now at 3 years old, can nearly quote the whole movie without watching it. :)

My kids don't wear shoes until they can walk. And even then, it's soft-bottomed ones most of the time. I guess that guy was taking his job VERY seriously:rolleyes:.

We've never been on Gran Fiesta Tour, and now my kids are so excited to try it. I can't wait to go next time!

Yes, I think Restaurantosaurus did used to serve McDonalds food. I'm not sure why they stopped, but I'm glad they did. We wouldn't have considered going to Restaurantosaurus for fast food we can get everywhere. And the buckets alone are definitely worth it. :thumbsup2

I guess we learned something very valuable- to always bring shoes, just in case. Although since Landon should be walking by our next trip and we're done having kids, that knowledge will never help us. :rotfl:

Another Robeez recommendation! I'll definitely look into them. Baby shoes are the one thing I can manage not to buy. My greatest weakness is summer outfits. I see some plaid shorts with a matching t-shirt with a turtle surfing and I can't resist.

Ah, the danger of another kid stepping on Landon's toes. At last, a plausible explanation for the shoe rule. Of course, the danger would apply equally well to a baby's fingers getting stepped on. And Landon did have a bodyguard. I still think he was fine.

I love that baby-care center! Such a nice break in the middle of the day.

I bet Crocs would be awful in the Digsite. All those little rocks getting in through the holes would be really uncomfortable. Maybe I can get the boys some Robeez, so they have appropriate Digsite footwear.

I've always thought that the playgrounds at Disney were really funny. All that cool Disney stuff and the kids are happiest running around a playground, albeit the world's greatest playground. Playgrounds and pools- all a kid needs for vacation.:rotfl:

I think we ended up riding Gran Fiesta Tour more times this trip than any other ride. It's a fun one. And it never has a long line.

PS-Did you see October hours are out on the Disney TA site? We can finally plan!!!

No, I hadn't seen that the October hours were out yet! So much planning to do before ADR time comes. :yay:

Cars is my sons FAVORITE movie. He's been watching it since he was about a year old. And now at 3 years old, can nearly quote the whole movie without watching it. :)

That will be fun, when my boys can watch Disney movies. I have all these ideas of what we are going to do when they are old enough for it. I think it would be fun to have Rainy Day Movie Parties and on select rainy days, let them dress up in jammies and watch a Disney movie and make popcorn and cookies.

My kids don't wear shoes until they can walk. And even then, it's soft-bottomed ones most of the time. I guess that guy was taking his job VERY seriously:rolleyes:.

I don't know how that guy could complain about a little boy who brought his own bucket.

Landon's back to mostly bare feet again, now that the weather has warmed up. I always bring his Crocs, just in case, but he really doesn't need them. He loves to chew them though. :rotfl:

I hope Gran Fiesta Tour doesn't disappoint! I think it's a fun diversion, especially since it's so easy to ride.

Cute update! I haven't ever had key lime pie. I'm not sure if I would like it. I love lemon bars. That's the only citrusy dessert I can think of to compare!

FINALLY CAUGHT UP! Normally when I read TRs to catch up, I write comments to post at the end, but alas, I did not do that here. The reason for that is because I'd read a few updates in the morning as I was eating breakfast. It helped me calm down from the wedding stress and drama from the night before! So I do appreciate that! Love the dialogue that you include!

Curious to read what you thought about the Kim Possible Mission. I LOVE it!!! There were the 5 of us surrounding one little cell phone, but it was definitely fun as we searched for some of the more obscure things. I really don't know the countries well enough to know where everything is.

Ooo, Key Lime Hero! I think right now I'd like a Chocolate Donut Hero ...

Great update. I am a robeez fan too. One toddler with extremely narrow feet, one with extra wide and one with wide and they have worked for all three. I even get the tiny ones for when they are babies just to hold their socks on. Colin is 18 months and we just got him a pair of sandals. He was so funny learning how to walk in them because he has never had real shoes. But he is so proud of them. All he does is stick out his foot and say "shoe" over and over.
Sunshine Seasons sounded yummy. I haven't eaten there since I was a kid. And keylime pie can be my favorite dessert...when it is done right. My mom makes a white chocolate key lime pie that is straight from heaven.

Mmmmm...pie...

I've never had actual food at Sunshine Seasons, just the strawberry shortcake, a banana, and a cup of coffee. Sounds like I might need to try their actual meal offerings (though I *could* eat the strawberry shortcake as a meal).
