That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Watching the game right now, go Brewers. We are going tomorrow.

Just back from picking up our prize, a microfiber Overnighter in Espresso, with Mini Hanging Organizer, Laptop Sleeve, and Double ID Wristlet all in Mocha Rouge. We were so excited! My sister gave me the laptop sleeve and ID wristlet :goodvibes
I then went to Kohl's to pick up a baby gift and got a 30% scratch off savings card. Maybe I should play the lottery tonight?:rotfl:

Makes sense that they would reuse frames for the topiaries, heck they reuse the Christmas decor every year, just like us! Your trip is winding down, will you start a new one for your upcoming trip? Maybe you can update us on your sister's cp start, or will your Dad do a TR on taking her down?

Great update, I love WS! :cool1: I love Morocco, it's such an interesting pavilion!

I love that Lady and the Tramp topiary, I don't think I saw it when I went during the F&G festival! :confused3

Yay, the candy lady! I've always wanted to see her, but she's never around when I'm in WS! I think I might actually have to check the times guide this year so I don't miss her!

That was a good game...very nerve-wracking though! Hopefully they can sweep tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Congrats again on the prize. If I couldn't win it I'm glad someone nice did. ;)

I am planning on starting a new PTR soon. Hopefully I can finish this one up within the next couple days.

I agree, it is an interesting pavilion.

Really? I know they had it last year and in 2008 too.

I'm planning on checking the times guide too so I can get there early and stake out a good spot. haha

I like your picture in every country idea. I don't know we'd remember every country either though, but it would be fun to try anyway!

We have Beetle the Bard, and I have read a few of the stories, but I've never read them all.

I like the mugs with the flowers on them! They're really pretty. Not that I need any more mugs!

I really like the Lady & the Tramp topiary & display, we actually saw that one too!

What is a Chewy Caramel Bar? It's nectar from heaven. It melts in your mouth in waves of ooey gooey caramelness and when you have one, all is right with the world. They were out of them last time we were there, which is why I do not recommend them at all, if our trip dates overlap.

Mmm, I know I would like the caramel corn. Maybe I'll have to try that. Do they sell it in packages too?

They almost always have bags of the caramel corn to sell, in small and large sizes. They're just in a little waxy bag that they fold the top down on so it's a package, but not a secure thing.

I just like to wait until I see them package it fresh because it's best when hot! The bags go quickly, so it's always fresh with a couple of hours, but when it's got still warm caramel.....oh my. :cloud9:

They usually have bags of the caramel corn, but they're just bags that they fold down the top of. They're always 'fresh' within a couple of hours since they sell out so quickly, but they're best when fresh within 5-10 minutes of being made so that they're still hot/warm. :cloud9:

They have a small bag and large bag. I find the small bag enough for two people to share, and I think it's a snack credit on DDP.

Cool concept about taking a pic in each country. China is the one country that doesn't appeal to me for some reason.

My sister and I did it on another trip and were able to get one in every country. I'd like to be able to do it again but in different spots.

haha, I hear ya on the mugs. We have way too many of them.

That's cool you saw it too. I know they've had it at past F&GFs too.

Oh man, that sounds really good. I am going to have to try one of those things. MMMMM.

Ahh you guys are making me hungry with all the caramel talk. The popcorn sounds so good too!

I agree, China is not one of my favorites either.

Friday, April 1, 2011 cont'd (part 6)

Well, we're nearing the end of our tour around World Showcase. Only a couple more countries to go. As we headed toward China, we stopped briefly at the Outpost. I tried to be creative and get a picture of all the Duffy bears (kind of appropriate for World Showcase since he's like the new mascot). Notice the blurry spot is still there...:headache:

I mentioned this earlier but because of the gorgeous weather the park was starting to get pretty crowded. This is going to sound boring but all we did was complete our WS loop and stopped to take a few more pictures in the remaining pavilions.

I thought these panda topiaries were cute!

We did stroll around the little pond in front of the Temple of Heaven and looked at the Chinese zodiac sculptures (another thing they do every year for the F&GF).

Our second to last stop was Norway.

Here's my version, again trying to be artistic with the flowers.

This place makes me think of another Kingdom Keepers reference. Soon there's not going to be anywhere in WDW that doesn't have a KK reference!

Claire posed for her picture by the Troll topiary, another icon for the pavilion.

And last but not least, Mexico.

I think this is another one of my favorite pictures from this trip. I loved this flower!

Claire found these guys...

See, this is one thing that makes the F&GF so great. Even if you don't do a lot of attractions there's still so much to see. It's fun to just walk around the park and admire all of the displays!

After completing our tour of WS, we headed back to Future World to do a bit of last minute shopping. We stopped in Mouse Gear. I was hoping to find a pair of pajama shorts that I saw earlier on the trip but they sadly didn't have my size. I had good luck earlier in the morning in getting my Rapunzel pin so would that luck continue? I immediately headed over to the rack with the pajamas and started going through the sizes. I was very happy to see that they had restocked and had plenty more. WOO HOO!! How cute are these?

So if you want to be like me, you can find these on the Disney Store website. :)

Claire and I also picked out a couple vinylmations. I went with one from the Animation series and Claire got an animation and holiday one. I should mention this was her 3rd one of the day. When we were walking back from World Showcase we got sidetracked at one of the other outdoor stands that sold vinylmation. We noticed that in the trading box, they had a Hamm figure from the Toy Story series. We debated buying one just to trade for it (I know, we are a little obsessed!). Well, Claire ended up doing it. She got an Aladdin one and traded so she could get Hamm. LOL.

Anyway...with our souvenirs in hand, we went to check out. I did add one more thing at the register: a tiny Mickey Mouse button. Smart of Disney to put the cheap little things right there when you're ready to go. I'll have to take a picture of it later but for 90 cents or whatever I couldn't resist.

Once we were done making our purchases, it was time to make that sad walk out of the park. :sad1: I think I say this in every trip report but no matter how many times I've been to WDW (and even though I know I'll be going back) leaving the park for the last time is always depressing. So, we said good-bye to Epcot and headed toward the bus stop to go back to OKW.

up next: Dinner at Downtown Disney and heading home

I hate leaving parks for the last time. I totally can relate to how you feel. You know you'll be back but waiting for the next trip is so hard!!! I really need to read Kingdom Keepers. I've decided I'll start once I've re-read all the Harry Potter books :teeth: That flower picture is gorgeous!!! :thumbsup2

That picture of the Hibiscus flower is so beautiful! And those pj shorts are very cute! I remember seeing them while I was there too, I really wanted them along with every other souvenir I saw:laughing:

I'm so sad all our TRs are about to end! Can't wait to hear the rest though:)

I like your "artistic" shots. The one of Norway with the flowers is my favorite. :thumbsup2

Sorry you had to rush through WS, but you got some nice pictures. I love the artistic ones with the flower and Norway. So pretty (:

Great Hamm vinylmation! You guys seem really into it. Maybe once I get more pins, I'll check out vinylmation. :thumbsup2 to buying the extra Mickey button.

Oh, that last time leaving the parks is always the worst. It just says "the end is coming soon", no matter if another trip is in the works. :'(

With that said, I can't believe this TR is already ending :( I'm pretty sure this was my first TR and it's already ending. Probably by the time school begins I'll be TR-less, so many are finishing up :sad2:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Leaving the parks for the last time is always so sad for me. It's like I have to get yanked out of there!

Those Mickey pj shorts are so cute, you were lucky that they restocked before you left the park. I have a Hibiscus plant that exact color. I love it, the flowers don't last long, but there are always new ones in bloom. You did pretty good with pictures around the world showcase. I didn't know that the vinylmations available for trade are in view? I thought it was a hidden trade?

Your artsy pictures were all so nice:thumbsup2 My favorite was the pink flower one!

Lately all the TR's I've been reading are ending!:sad2: People need to go back faster:lmao:

It is always sad to be leaving the parks for the last time, no matter how many trips you've gone on.

I like the Hamm Vinylmation and the pajama shorts. :thumbsup2
