That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

:wave2: How are things? Any Disney trips?

Things are pretty good...we've got a Disney cruise planned for January! :woohoo: I just wish it were sooner! You should come visit my pre-trippie...if you haven't already...I can't remember....ah well

***WARNING: This one is a bit lengthy. ***

That sounds like an apology. You never need to apologize for length. lengthy=gooood!!!

But we were both excited.
The plane arrived. See! Wave at the plane! :wave2:

HI FLORIDA PLANE! And hooray for Disney excitement!

We finally arrived at the Poly.

::cue choir of angels::

AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW! LOVE the Poly.

Poor Missy. Being sick on planes is no fun. But you guys certainly did get vast amounts of pixie dust!!! Can't wait to hear more!! Especially about the Poly concierge!! And Poly concierge desserts!!! (did they still have those little chocolate cups with a mousse-ish substance in it?? yuuuuuum)

I have to admit, I haven't read yet. I am marking my place

This morning, when I saw your report for the first time, I opened it up and read the three or four lines up 'til the link to your pre-trippie. Which I then began to read. I have now figured out what I'm doing this weekend :rotfl: I'm up to page 12 on the PT. I may wimp out and just go by your links for the quicker version, but I like reading comments too! Just don't want to get back here and find THIS one is up to 59-odd pages.

I love your writing, and I've always gotten a kick out of your posts to my friends Z and La. I somehow never realized how close you are to me, location-wise. AND that we were overlapping our Maelstrom Meet with you, and staying at the Poly too (unless somehow your schedule and/or locale changed again from pg. 12 of the PT)! I wonder if we've crossed paths, either in the World or even locally? I am north of Boston, as opposed as south, but I have worked all over downtown (in Newton now), and I would bet I would recognize your employer's name and locale. ;)

Anyhoo, I'm happy to be here and looking forward to reading about your trip! Keep up the great work!!

Back again. And bumping you at the same time :)

I have given up on the PT, and just moved right on over here this morning. Couldn't wait any longer ;)

I do know where Fall River is, though I don't believe I've ever been there. You DO know, I'm sure, that North of Boston and South of Boston are, essentially, different countries, right? I have a sister who lives in Dedham, and I've been to the Wrentham outlets a few times, but that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge.

I am FLOORED by your upgrades, sista! WOW. We WERE in Tokelau, so if you hadn't taken our upgraded room, um, I mean, been so lucky to get upgraded, we may have been neighbors for a couple of days. We tried batting our lashes for an upgrade, but ours must not be as lush and lovely as yours. It may not have helped that our "party" consisted of 9 women in 3 rooms, either. Oh, well. I'm happy for you and Missy, regardless.

As to poor Missy's plane barf, I feel her pain. I did once have a similar experience. Only mine was a stomach bug on the way home from Aruba. With my whole extended family in tow. Including my then-22 month old son. Who was ALSO barfing from the same bug. Good times.

I can't wait to hear about your room, your toes and four cheese potatoes!!:woohoo:

great update. I feel bad for Missy. :sad2: I cannot even imagine what that would be like. I'd panic on the plane if I had to wait for someone to move!

Score on the limo and the upgrade at the Poly! :woohoo:

Hey I'm joining in, a little late but I'm all caught up! Actually after 5 long days of reading I finished not only the 5 pages of TR but your entire PTR...not gonna lie I used the links on the first post but I proud of myself. Let me just say that your PTR is by far the best thing I have read on the DIS :thumbsup2 Your writing style is great and kept me at the computer for hours at a time :surfweb: ...I know I have no life. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip though, I'm really looking forward to an update after the obviously wonderful first day you had :goodvibes

another MA girl here saying hello! can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!

I do know where Fall River is, though I don't believe I've ever been there. You DO know, I'm sure, that North of Boston and South of Boston are, essentially, different countries, right?

:lmao: SO true! i'm a South Shore girl myself - i can pretty much navigate any town off of rt. 3 south!

I just laughed right out loud! What the dillio wih dat? :lmao:

Word.
In'nt that whack?
;)

You should come visit my pre-trippie

Duly noted. I need to get over there.

And Poly concierge desserts!!! (did they still have those little chocolate cups with a mousse-ish substance in it?? yuuuuuum)

There may be much gnashing of teeth and wailing of babies, but I never even SAW the Poly concierge desserts - I DID see plenty of their breakfast and some of their afternoon snacks, though. We were too busy at the parks!

This morning, when I saw your report for the first time, I opened it up and read the three or four lines up 'til the link to your pre-trippie. Which I then began to read.

Holy Carp. It's Ash on my TR too. ZZUB, Ash...next thing you know La will be posting and I'll have the whole darn crew over here!

But not Mel.

Because that would be like the Loch Ness Monster posting here. Or the Yeti. In a cowboy hat.

I love your writing, and I've always gotten a kick out of your posts to my friends Z and La.

Thanks.

I do know where Fall River is, though I don't believe I've ever been there.

Probably a good thing.

I am FLOORED by your upgrades, sista! WOW. We WERE in Tokelau, so if you hadn't taken our upgraded room, um, I mean, been so lucky to get upgraded, we may have been neighbors for a couple of days.

We were floored too! And even if we hadn't been upgraded, I would've LOVED Tokelau. It's a great location.

::sigh::

I miss the Poly.

The upgrade gods were definitely smiling down on you!

That they were!
Now, why aren't the LOTTERY gods smiling down on me???

I'd panic on the plane if I had to wait for someone to move!

I think I might have been panicking about that more than she was!

Actually after 5 long days of reading I finished not only the 5 pages of TR but your entire PTR...not gonna lie I used the links on the first post but I proud of myself.

::standing ovation::

Let me just say that your PTR is by far the best thing I have read on the DIS :thumbsup2 Your writing style is great and kept me at the computer for hours at a time :surfweb:

That is very, very sweet of you to say. Thank you!

:lmao: SO true! i'm a South Shore girl myself - i can pretty much navigate any town off of rt. 3 south!

Ah, yes, route 3. Like route 6 - the route of the rotaries.

Holy carp, woman! Upgrade city!

Right? And it didn't stop there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TINK!!!!!!

Thank you darlin'.

::sigh::

::drool::

Ladies and gents, there IS an update in your future. My apologies but this whole "come home from Disney and unpack a whole house" thang pretty much...isn't fun. It's SERIOUSLY impeding on my DIS time. And my nap time. And my "Food Network Challenge" and "Heroes" time.

But really. Keep an eye out. Today or tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

I haven't forgotten you, my friends. The next TWO updates are ready (really just one superlong one in two parts) and I'm working on getting the photos uploaded today. Photobucket was giving me grief this morning, so I'm hoping to work out our issues (or beat it with a stick) before the end of the day.

Stay tuned!

:happytv:

We finally arrived at the Poly.

The slip I signed for Gary confirmed I had in fact been charged the right price and that the upgrade gods were smiling upon us. I headed, hopefully, towards the front desk. After getting leid, we proceeded directly over to Jim, the next available CM.

Jim was, no IS, THE BOMB. He pulled up our reservation and said, “So, Miss StillNotSharingMyLastName, how’s Fall River treating you?”
Me: You know Fall River? (NO one knows Fall River, MA. Fall River is my dinky hometown – I looked at his nametag and saw he was from Needham, MA) Oh! You’re from Needham!
Jim: New York originally, but my adopted family is from Mass.
Me: So, does that make you a Red Sox or a Yankees fan? (A crucial question for a fan of either team.)
Jim: Sox all the way, baby!
Missy: (sporting a Jason Varitek Sox tee and before I could get his take on the Brady/Cassell Pats situation) So, we’re Sox fans too. Does that get us any special perks?
Jim: (glancing down casually and then, in a tone as if he were merely telling me it’s hot in Florida) Well, you were upgraded to the concierge level this morning. How’s that?
My mouth dropped open.
I looked at Missy.
We high-fived.

Enjoying the TR and photos…especially after last night’s results from the Trop. Oh well, theres alway LAST year.

Have given up on Photobucket.
Am trying Snapfish.
Am also trying NOT to hurl computer through window from 23rd floor.
Wish. Me. LUCK.
