...was snapped up in a matter of hours! :sad1:

While I was dithering back and forth yesterday morning as to whether I could swing it and what I would offer, that fully-loaded, with some points from 2015 banked and all of 2016 banked VGF Dec UY went from "make an offer" to "offer accepted"! It was the exact number of points that I wanted, too. Darn! :headache: I'm even on all of the email lists and have the phone apps to notify me when one becomes available. I just waited too long to decide once I got the alert.

Oh well, I guess someone else has been stalking the resale market for the very same contract. I hope they got it for a good price. {{sigh}}

Sorry to hear that. I've lost contracts before by trying to bargain...sometimes you just have to say "full priced offer" to make sure you lock it up. Don't worry, another contract will come along soon. :)

I do not know about "soon!"

We made the same mistake. We hummed and hawed because it was a different resort (our #2 not #1) and by the time I decided to go for it, it was gone. I learned the hard way. When our contract came available (still in rofr) we were ready to pounce and it was ours. Now you will be ready the second yours comes up!

So yesterday in the morning I bid on a BLT contract and it was already sold, last night I saw a new one, same number of points 5 dollars cheaper a point, and October use year I made a full price offer on it and it was accepted! I am now waiting to get paperwork today and know where to send my check to the escrow company. Then the dreaded wait. But I know we can do this.

That was quick!!pixiedust:

On one hand, I am glad DVC resale is so brisk (keeps the value up to some extent). On the other, I am bummed that I can't find a deal on a resale contract. At least I am already "in" and just looking to add on when the right contract comes along. Perhaps I need to wait until the next economic downturn.

In hindsight, offering a few dollars less on "the perfect contract" would have only saved me a few hundred dollars. And I could have more than made it up by renting out the 2015 banked points.

Lesson learned for sure! The next time that opportunity knocks, I won't hesitate.

There you go. Sometimes people get in their own way because they're looking for the best deal possible. Sometimes it's good enough just to get the deal you want; it doesn't have to be the lowest price on the ROFR thread to make it a good deal. Good luck getting your contract!

Amen... I offered more than really wanted to pay because I was ready to get this done and move on.. having lost one in rofr.... I decided little savings wasn't worth it!

I have December Use Year at VGF so I am always monitoring those listings. It seems like there are always some coming along for sale. I think you will be fine.
