That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to hear about this one since I know it was so awesome. :goodvibes

Stupid Single Rider. You would think the pre-designed cars would be flawless.

OMG YOUR TT PHOTO!!! You look like a Hollywood Diva being driven around town!! Love it!!

On overlooked thing that Disney does so well is under-estimating. Anna and Elsa... Nah, that'll never be popular. Just stick 'em in Norway. :confused3

It's so crazy looking at that Maelstrom line. Just pan your camera slightly to the left...

OMG

The cronut

Heaven on a plate

Or in a box

God I love that thing!

Wise to skip the 2 hour wait for A&E!

Love the B&B top

Welcome home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back! At least this time the weather at home is closer to Florida weather! Makes it a bit easier to come home, no?

I agree about the frozen beer, I just don't want anything cold to hold when walking around a cold Epcot!
I've heard of the cronut but never had one, it looks good...where exactly did you get that, at a cart?

Cute outfit!

So I've been home over a week with no updates and you've been home, what?, 24 hours? :rotfl2:

What, no frozen kirin beer in January? :confused3 Are you kidding me? :lmao:

Great pics on Malestrom which I never got on this past trip - why? Because there was a line. :faint:

So glad you had a fantastic, and rather long, trip! Back to reality now.

So enjoyed meeting you and the family! Can't wait to do it again!

I am very much encouraged to finish this, as I don't want it hanging out there forever. :rotfl2:

Yup, no frozen beer for me. Which leads me to realize that I didn't have it in May either!!!! :scared1:

We had so much fun meeting you too! We will definitely do it again sometime.

Welcome back Dani!! I loved following along on Instagram. I showed my whole family your costumes because I thought they were so awesome!!

The first time my dad and I did TT, our car lost in every category too. My dad HATES losing so it definitely made me long for the days of old TT.

You look SUPER stylish in the ride photo! Between your hair and the lipstick, you look like a fashionista. I always look very unkempt in TT photos so I'm impressed.

I think you made the right call not waiting for Anna and Elsa. We waited an hour and a half and I would never do that again. Sticking with FP+ now that it's a thing.

I laughed out loud at "Look it's France!" :lmao:

Ughhh I need to try a cronut! It looks so good.

Your sweatshirt obviously makes me super happy. Belle's all peaceful and snuggled up and the Beast is like whuuuuut.

Thanks so much! We loved dressing up. It was so much fun.

I can't stand losing. Really, I can't handle it. I'm the worst loser. :lmao:

Haha, thanks! My hair is normally a hot mess, so let's just say that totally worked out for me that time.

I know. "Look it's France!" Just like I got "look it's China!" when we walked through Japan.

Dude, that is the total best description of the Beast on my shirt. Whhuuuuuuttt?

Cronut!!! Oh my gosh. That looked amazing. By the way, your Beauty and Beast outfit looks so fashionable!! You look great!

Welcome back home. I know the feeling!! Time to get back into the routine of life, which still includes plenty of daydreaming and planning the next trip. :thumbsup2

The cronut is incredible. It's so yummy.

Thanks so much! I love that shirt.

I know, it's so hard to get back into the routine, isn't it?

Great updates!

Welcome back!

Thanks!

I've recently read several of your trip reports and LOVE them! :lovestruc Totally feel like we're friends now. :rotfl2:

Thank you for sharing the info on the Hot Topic shirts. I ordered the Tangled shirt and the Beauty & the Beast Rose one for our December trip. :thumbsup2

Welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying them.

We're all friends here! :goodvibes

Awesome! Hot Topic is my obsession. I'm seriously on there almost every day.

Welcome back! Great, fun update, as always! :thumbsup2

And I learned some things. Notes to self:

1.) Single Rider Line = Loser Car
2.) Hungry in Epcot = Cronut

Thank you! :goodvibes

Good notes to self. Hungry in Epcot = Cronut is always a good plan.

Great update! That Cronut looks awesome!!

Glad you made it back to IL (via WI) safely!!!!

It's incredible! I highly recommend them to all.

Yay for having ANOTHER fantastic trip! Haha, I'm excited for the new report to indulge in after this one.

Mmm, that cronut looks so good. I had it on my list of things to try in January, but we weren't hungry at ALL when we were in that area. Do you know if it's a permanent addition?

I'm probably going to start the new report soon, I'm just trying to get as far along in this one as I can before I dive in.

It's so amazing. I think it's going to be a somewhat permanent addition. I mean, it's a phenomenon at the moment, so I don't foresee them taking it away anytime soon.

The whole Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet craziness! And it doesn't appear to be slowing down at all, does it? Hope you had a fun meet and greet with them last week with your FP+. DD has been asking and asking about this meet and greet so I don't think we'll be able to escape it for our October trip. Hope I can score some FP+s.

Hmmm, I have yet to have tried sushi inside Epcot. May need to correct this wrong. :rotfl: I did try the yellow tail roll over at Flying Fish and it was soooo good!

It's insane! And you are absolutely right, it's not slowing down. It was still super busy in May. We had FP+ so it all worked out, but it was crazy. Just keep checking on the FP+ and make sure that you keep your days flexible. It was the only way I scored one.

The sushi was pretty good. It's not like insanely yummy, but it was fresh and yummy.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had such a great trip! I followed along on Instagram and it looked so great. I've only ever been to Disneyworld in August so its weird to think of it being cold there lol. You really did have a productive morning! And that cronut looks sooooo good. Looking forward to more updates popcorn::

Thanks so much for following along here and on Instagram! It is strange to be cold there, even though I've been there several times when it's been cold.

I'll get started on that TR soon. The only sad part is that the 24 hour day doesn't appear until the end. :rotfl2:

You would think the pre-designed cars would be incredible. It's a trick!

Hahaha, Hollywood diva. I'll take it.

Welcome home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, it so is heaven. I had the cronut sundae in May. It was amazing.

I knew I was wise if I skipped the line. I had other things to do. Like eat a cronut and all.

I can't wait to start on the TR!

It is closer to Florida weather! I was happy to come home to warmth.

Having the frozen beer would have been like piling cold on top of cold. That just wasn't what I wanted. :rotfl2:

The cronut is available at the Refreshment Port. You know, that little restaurant in World Showcase right next to Canada and by the bathrooms?

Aren't you sweet not starting your TR until I get back. I get home the evening of Friday, June 6, so any time after that is good.

First and foremost, where do we get a cronut? Mark must try one of those.

Love the Test Track pics; sorry your car came in dead last mine always does too).

It sounds like a wonderful morning with Pop. We are looking forward to meeting Ana and Elsa on Friday (I'm wearing my new Olaf shirt).

I don't eat Sushi, but your beer looks really yummy. Do you recall what type it is so I can tell Mark?

Duly noted! I'm working late that night, so we're all good. I'll start it on Saturday June 7th. :lmao:

The cronut is at the Refreshment Port. That one in World Showcase that's right next to Canada that used to be a McDonalds? That's where they are. They also have a cronut sundae.......mmmmm....oh and they're called "croissant donuts", because cronut is copyrighted.

I love your new Olaf shirt! I totally need to go to Kohls.

The beer was Sapporo. It's very tasty.

The last time I updated, Pop and I were heading out of Epcot and back to the hotel to see how Mom was doing. When we got there, Mom was surprised that we were back to early. We told her that we wanted to check on her and see how she was doing. She said the plan was that she was going to take a nap to make sure she would be okay for dinner.

Pop relaxed and snoozed with Mom while I wrote in my trip journal, which is what I normally do during break time on a trip. Mom got up around 3:30pm and started to get ready to head out. However, after she was all ready, she sat on the bed and looked up at me.

She asked me if she felt it was good that she go out. I told her that it had been a bit colder that day. Then I asked her to tell me honestly how she was feeling. She said that her throat was still hurting pretty badly, from coughing so much for the day. She and I decided that it was best we go without her, because she didn't want to miss any more days on the trip. But, before we left, Pop headed down to Artist Palette to pick her up two soups and a mac and cheese. Easy to swallow food for her throat.

She was sad that she wasn't coming along, because we were eating at a new restaurant. However, in retrospect, it was definitely the best thing to do. At about 5pm, Pop and I said our goodbyes again to Mom, and headed out for our 6pm reservation.

Saratoga is a really great resort. I didn't appreciate it a lot until this trip. It's absolutely beautiful.

And, since I forgot to take a picture of my outfit, I took a wonky selfie. No judging. LOL.

Soon, we were heading into the park. Bus to Epcot got us in there by 5:30pm, so not bad at all. Remember, we had left the car behind, because we had such a great parking spot.

Before going any further though, we had to commemorate with some PP pictures.

Since we still had some time before our reservation, I figured why not take a spin on Spaceship Earth? Right? Don't you totally wish that you could do that before dinner every night? I sure do.

Yeti was ready!

Every time I go through this part, I remember that I have seen the Sistine Chapel in person. It's absolutely stunning.

Pop has a faceless future! AAAHHHHHHH!!!!

I have absolutely no idea what was going on in my future.

I love Judi Dench, but I do always lament the fact that I totally miss Jeremy Irons. He just has the best voice.

We were done with the ride by about 5:45pm, so we started to head over to our reservation. The new to us restaurant tonight? La Hacienda. This was my choice on the trip. I was super excited about it.

We checked in and told the hostess that we were only two, and that unfortunately the third person on our reservation was sick. She was very sympathetic and led us in right away. We were seated in no time.

We had a sweet and totally awesome server named Marigel. I honestly think that she would have let us sit there all night if we wanted to, which was totally cool. She was very attentive, but not overly so. I would definitely love to have her as our server again.

Our first thing we ordered was hello, margaritas?

I ordered the rosita margarita. I filtered this and posted it on Instagram, basically because it's beautiful!

I have to say this is my absolute favorite margarita on property. So yummy. Right up my alley. It reminded me of my beloved hibiscus margarita that was sadly taken away from the La Cava menu. Now, if they would just transfer this over to La Cava, I would be great!

Pop ordered a good old classic.

One thing that was on the menu that I totally wanted to eat was the queso fundido. It's one of my favorite things that I order from our local Mexican restaurant.

Okay, not to knock this. But yeah, kind of to knock it. It did not at all live up to my expectations. It was way too much cheese....and not enough fundido. Bahahaha. No seriously, the cheese to chorizo ratio was all wrong. And the cheese wasn't even melty. Sorry Disney. My local little family owned Mexican restaurant does it way better.

For dinner, Marigel had recommended one of the sharing platters with a variety of items. We had actually been looking at it, so when she recommended it, we figured it was the right thing to do. She gave us both corn and flour tortillas as well.

On the platter there is chicken, sausage, and steak, along with roasted vegetables and a sweet / spicy corn. It also came with black beans and rice on the side. It was a great sharing meal.

It was a good meal. My favorites were definitely the corn and the chicken. They don't take Tables in Wonderland, which was a bummer. But now I know.

Oh Yeti, trying to take my second margarita.

We said no to dessert and just sat there afterwards, munched on chips, and enjoyed another margarita. She even came by later asking if we wanted another. She said we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted. We thanked her and said we were heading over to La Cava. We started talking about margarita's and the flavors. I mentioned the hibiscus margarita and how much I loved it. She said that they do tend to take things away that "aren't popular", but that often as a server she disagrees with their choices. She said she felt the hibiscus one was very popular at La Cava, just like the avocado one was popular at La Hacienda, but they took that one away.

She was an absolutely lovely server, and we had a great meal there. Queso fundido aside, I would go again in the future. I was sad that Mom couldn't make it. I know she would have loved it there.

Continued in next post:

Our meal finished, Pop and I headed into the Ditch to get more margarita's. Not that I like margarita's or anything.......

Pop chose a classic again, and I chose the avocado margarita.

I don't know what my expectation was, but I wasn't a huge fan of the avocado one. Not because of the flavor. Because it's blended. And I am not a fan of frozen margaritas (read: I don't drink them ever....), so blended just wasn't up my alley. Not that I'm going to turn my margarita away, but you know. I'm just saying.

I love World Showcase at night!

The night had gotten pretty cold. I was actually glad that Mom did not come with us, because she would have frozen! Since we had a great dinner, I wanted to bring Momma a treat back. Where else would I go but the Kringla Bakeri. School bread, hello!

I picked up two school bread and they actually had sugar free chocolate mousse for Pop. Score for him!

So I'm standing there waiting to go to the register to pay for our stuff, minding my own business. And then....bam!

I turn around super fast, and my Pop is standing there, looking at the floor.......because his margarita fell all over it.

Basically, his face was something like this.

I asked him what happened and he said that it slipped out of his hand. And the CM's behind the counter are basically looking at him like "oh man, this old fart is totally drunk and his daughter has to take care of him...." They pretty much felt he had imbibed too much, which he so had not. Come on. Three margaritas over the course of like two hours? I think not. However, it was hysterical, and as we headed out of the bakery, I mentioned it to him. He said that he didn't care, it was pretty funny. We could have gone to La Cava and have them give us a new one, but it had been basically ice at that point.

What happened (according to Pop), is that he had it resting on the counter ledge, went to grab it, and it simply slipped out of his hand.

My Pop. Spilling margaritas and making people totally think he's drunk. Gotta love him.

We made our way out of the park and to Mouse Gears, because Mom told me that she wanted me to buy some vinyls for myself, from her.

I had to take this picture at the register, because there is an Instagram account that I follow (Lotso At Disneyland), that follows me too, and he's too funny. So of course, I had to tag him in this picture.

This is what happens when you just let me loose near merchandise. Seriously. I am Sweetums!

The leprechaun lights!!!! Who quoted that term? ;)

My beauty.

I love it there at night. Thankfully, we had a super short walk to the car. Well, we could have called it a waddle, because I was still pretty full from dinner.

On our way out to the car.......we found this. You think someone needs that? I wonder....

Mom was surprised that we were back already after dinner. I told her that we felt horrible that she was basically away from us the entire day. The benefit to going to WDW so often is that you don't feel like you're missing something. I'm fortunate enough to typically know when I'm going to be back.

I opened my vinyls. And I got the most amazing one ever!

Yzma! Put your hands in the air!!!!

I'm gonna wreck it!

I also picked up for myself some amazing ears. That I still haven't worn, because I forgot them in May! They have to come in November.

A new teacup.

And a scarf.

Of course we got the coup de grace for Mom. School bread. That totally made me laugh uncontrollably when the CM gave it to me.

Hee hee hee hee.....yes I'm five years old.

Mom was super happy to have her school bread and I think it made her feel better after having missed the whole day. Because she vowed at that point there was no way she was missing our last two days in Disney.

Up next: My epic failure.

Wait, how were you able to get a cronut in Epcot? Was it actually CALLED a "cronut"? That is a registered trademark of Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City.

KRONK!!!! That is super awesome amazing! He's on my must find list when we go in October. Also yay Ralph!

While it sucks that your mom was sick its nice that you got a Daddy/Daughter day out of it. Even if you did get him drunk and reckless in Mexico and Norway ::yes:: Hee!

Love your shirt that is just frickin cool!:goodvibes

La Hacienda was a new restaurant for us on our last trip. I think we sat in the same area that you did, and we had a really nice waiter, too. We met my sister and friend there for dinner, which was fun. I agree with you about the queso fundido. I don't know what it is supposed to taste like, but this was just a lump of rubbery cheese. :confused3 But we ate it anyway. ;)

We shared the platters. My DH and I ordered the same meat platter that you had, and my sister and her friend ordered the seafood one. That was the best dinner! We really enjoyed it. And that corn was really good, too. :goodvibes

They don't take Tables in Wonderland, which was a bummer. But now I know.

Ah yes but they do give a 10% DVC discount. :thumbsup2 Not quite TIW but better than nothing.

I believe I have had that platter and loved it. That was when they did do TIW when they first opened. Then they were on the no no list when they stopped. Of they went back on the yes list with TIW and I think I booked it on a TIW blackout date to boot. :lmao:

A really nice daddy daughter day. Sorry your mom felt bad and with the cold weather, it was best she stayed in but still sad.

Spilled alcohol is such a nono. :rotfl2: So funny they thought he was drunk. Especially when he wasn't just a slippery cup.

I'm not a big margarita drinker, but that one you ordered at La Hacienda looks delicious. I really wish they sold it at La Cava so I give it a try. But with how Disney is constantly changing and shuffling menu items, who knows? It might be there in a year or two...:confused3

Oh man, that story about your dad spilling his drink in the checkout line had me rolling. I could just see everyone else's faces. Nobody really considering the fact that it was about -20 degrees out and your poor father's fingers were probably stiff from the wind and the cold drink.

You had some pretty good luck with your MouseGears trip! Love the scarf, and I have to pray Alex doesn't ever see that there's a Wreck-It Ralph Vinyl; I'll be searching for one for the next 6 months! :lmao:
