That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

It looked like you and your dad had a fun Daddy/daughter day. We've never been to La Hacienda for just that reason - we have such good local Mexican places that we'd rather try something different there. I do love Queso Fundido though.

I have got to try me some school bread. I keep putting it off because nobody but me in my family likes coconut, and there's no way I could eat a whole one of those. But every time I see one I want it!!

It's 9am and I want a margarita lol Thanks lol

I remember you putting the schoolbread pic on instagram and cracked up. Yep I may act like a grown up when I teach but deep down I'm a kid ;)

Oooh...that first margarita you had looked so pretty. I don't drink margaritas, but that one caught my eye.

It's always nice to have a wonderful server at a sit down meal, isn't it? I'm so glad you and Pop enjoyed your meal.

Now why would anyone think Pop was drunk? ;)

I'm sorry Mom still wasn't up to going out with you, but you made the right call in her staying home.

Your poor Mom. I really hope she gets feeling better for the next day!
Love your outfit! Where do you get all your amazing Disney clothes?
Your meal (and margaritas!) look really good! What a pretty drink!
That must have been so funny when your Pop dropped his drink. At least he wasn't too bothered by it!
Great purchases, love the Ralph vinyl!

Awww, my heart aches for your mom. That has to be so frustrating to feel so bad in Disney.

Something is up with SE. I've seen so many photos of people's faces all cut up and stuff. It's bizarre.

Honestly, that whole dropping the drink thing at Kringla would have been comical to me. I can just picture his face (oh wait you included a photo). Priceless. Drunk Little Cucumber.

:lmao: Disney is getting so adult now-a-days... A pants-less prince at BoG, and now it's even translating over to School Bread.

I found your TR! Now I won't have to hijack Kathy's PTR anymore.

I happen to live only 20 minutes or so from Gurnee and go often, especially to the mall for the Disney Store.

Awwww, poor Mama.

I hate it when someone I love is sick. It's such helpless feeling, you want to do so much for them and the best thing we can do, besides bring them anything they need or want is to let them rest all day. Just went through it with Mackie, she's almost never sick, but for some reason she's getting a bug at least once or twice a year now. Go figure.

I'm hoping your Mom felt much better the next day, I can't imagine missing part of a trip because of being sick.

PapaDon really came through for your mom! Wow! What a sweet and generous gesture!! I would have had a hard time getting out of bed knowing there may be more wonderful things around the bend! :rotfl: Well done PapaDon! :woohoo:

Such a cute bag! ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Your outfits and makeup are so stinkin cute, I'm always in awe of your style.

The dinner looked lovely, I always have such a hard time making a reservation there since I live in Texas, I can have as much Mexican or Tex-Mex as any one person can eat, I'm always afraid of getting in there and not liking or comparing (much like you did with your glob of cheese-:rotfl:) it to everything I love here at home. I'm pretty picky about my Mexican food. :snooty: :rotfl:
Same goes for B.B.Q., I've not been to the Wilderness lodge's-WCC for that very reason.

Although.....I will say, if I order something like what you and PapaDon ordered, something I would not normally order at home, then maybe I'll actually have a fighting chance of liking it. :) I'm trying to remember if that's a place that accepts dining plans. :scratchin
My next trip I'll have the dining plan, not thrilled about it but it works out best that way when having one of my kiddos with me. Any forward solo trips it will be out of pocket for sure :goodvibes, (along with a possible AP) I just don't need to eat like that. :sad2:

Just starting your report today! Your family seems so fun, I love it.

We were there in January and our dates overlapped with yours, I keep looking for us in the background of your photos :)

Awww your poor Mom being ill, I hope her rest day helped her recover!

The cronut (sorry croissant doughnut ;) ) sounds amazing and I'm so please it's on the DDP :thumbsup2

I'm loving all of your purchases :)

KRONK!!!! That is super awesome amazing! He's on my must find list when we go in October. Also yay Ralph!

While it sucks that your mom was sick its nice that you got a Daddy/Daughter day out of it. Even if you did get him drunk and reckless in Mexico and Norway ::yes:: Hee!

Love your shirt that is just frickin cool!:goodvibes

I'm not kidding, I literally freaked out when I pulled him out. He's one of my all time favorite characters. "Do not touch my acorn.....squeak squeaker squeak squeaken...." :rotfl2:

Haha. The drunk and reckless part was too funny. We'll just continue to let everyone believe that he was.

Thanks! I love finding Disney things and am slightly obsessed with Hot Topic.

La Hacienda was a new restaurant for us on our last trip. I think we sat in the same area that you did, and we had a really nice waiter, too. We met my sister and friend there for dinner, which was fun. I agree with you about the queso fundido. I don't know what it is supposed to taste like, but this was just a lump of rubbery cheese. :confused3 But we ate it anyway. ;)

We shared the platters. My DH and I ordered the same meat platter that you had, and my sister and her friend ordered the seafood one. That was the best dinner! We really enjoyed it. And that corn was really good, too. :goodvibes

I felt the same way too! The cheese was rubbery. And yet we ate all of it too. :lmao: I don't turn down food yo!

It really was a great dinner, I loved the sharing platters. Gets you a nice variety to choose from.

Ah yes but they do give a 10% DVC discount. :thumbsup2 Not quite TIW but better than nothing.

I believe I have had that platter and loved it. That was when they did do TIW when they first opened. Then they were on the no no list when they stopped. Of they went back on the yes list with TIW and I think I booked it on a TIW blackout date to boot. :lmao:

A really nice daddy daughter day. Sorry your mom felt bad and with the cold weather, it was best she stayed in but still sad.

Spilled alcohol is such a nono. :rotfl2: So funny they thought he was drunk. Especially when he wasn't just a slippery cup.

They did? I always forget about DVC, because we always use TIW. I gotta remember that!

It was a nice day, even though Mom wasn't with us. I felt terrible that she was so sick.

It is a no no! I almost felt the need to publicly shame him for dropping it. You just don't do that with alcoholic beverages!

I'm not a big margarita drinker, but that one you ordered at La Hacienda looks delicious. I really wish they sold it at La Cava so I give it a try. But with how Disney is constantly changing and shuffling menu items, who knows? It might be there in a year or two...:confused3

Oh man, that story about your dad spilling his drink in the checkout line had me rolling. I could just see everyone else's faces. Nobody really considering the fact that it was about -20 degrees out and your poor father's fingers were probably stiff from the wind and the cold drink.

You had some pretty good luck with your MouseGears trip! Love the scarf, and I have to pray Alex doesn't ever see that there's a Wreck-It Ralph Vinyl; I'll be searching for one for the next 6 months! :lmao:

I'm a HUGE margarita drinker. Both in size and quantity. ;)

It was awesome when he spilled it. I think my face was pretty priceless too, but you really couldn't beat his.

Just don't show him the picture and hope he doesn't stumble across my TR and you'll be all good! He was part of the Animation collection.

Yes! ;)

And don't you be rushing my trip. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I would never rush your trip! It was wishful thinking on my part that the work weeks would go by fast.....:lmao: Like that's gonna happen.

It looked like you and your dad had a fun Daddy/daughter day. We've never been to La Hacienda for just that reason - we have such good local Mexican places that we'd rather try something different there. I do love Queso Fundido though.

We have great local places too, so we normally don't eat in the Mexico pavilion. But, since I was trying really hard to get us a restaurant that none of us had eaten at, this fit the bill. Queso fundido is one of my favorite things ever. I always want to try it if they serve it.

Oh no. Never put off the school bread. And trust me. You can totally eat a whole one yourself. I've made the fatal mistake of sharing school bread before. Yeah, that's not gonna happen again. :rotfl2:

It's 9am and I want a margarita lol Thanks lol

I remember you putting the schoolbread pic on instagram and cracked up. Yep I may act like a grown up when I teach but deep down I'm a kid ;)

I always want a margarita...there's no shame here.

Same here. I may act like a grownup at work, but inside, I'm just five....:rotfl2:

Oooh...that first margarita you had looked so pretty. I don't drink margaritas, but that one caught my eye.

It's always nice to have a wonderful server at a sit down meal, isn't it? I'm so glad you and Pop enjoyed your meal.

It's was really a great margarita. I would say that even people who don't drink margaritas would enjoy it. It's so pretty. :goodvibes

It is nice to have a great server. I love it when you have a nice long meal with an awesome server.

Who on earth would think MY Pop was drunk. I still have no idea. :rolleyes1

We definitely made the right call. She needed another night.

Your poor Mom. I really hope she gets feeling better for the next day!
Love your outfit! Where do you get all your amazing Disney clothes?

She did start feeling better. Not great, her cold lingered even at home, but she was able to get out the next day.

I get all of my Disney stuff from Hot Topic, and some from Wet Seal. Hot Topic mostly. I always tell Katt too that if she ever wants something, to let me know and I'd have it shipped here. I think their shipping to Canada is pretty expensive.

It was hysterical when he dropped it. It really was mostly ice left, but I would have cried if it happened to me.

She was super frustrated. I've been there before, and it sucks!

Yeah, that cheese head thing has happened to me before. If I was a sensitive person I would think Disney was trying to tell me they didn't like my face. :lmao:

Hehehe. Yup, Drunk Little Cucumber. Not really, but it was awesome.

I know! And the CM when he gave it to me just grinned. And of course I had to laugh like a child.

I found your TR! Now I won't have to hijack Kathy's PTR anymore.

I happen to live only 20 minutes or so from Gurnee and go often, especially to the mall for the Disney Store.

Hi! I'm glad you're here. :)

We're about 15 minutes from Gurnee Mills. I go fairly often. Definitely an in and out girl though, because I don't love that mall. You know what I mean. :lmao: I go normally for the Disney Store, Hot Topic (for my awesome Disney clothes), and Forever21. Then I'm out.

Awwww, poor Mama.

It is the most helpless feeling when someone you love is sick! I wanted to help, but there was really nothing I could do. She just needed to start feeling better on her own.

Hahaha. I know right! He does good, he really does. He's good a surprise gestures.

Awwww, you're so sweet! I just try to stay true to myself. I don't like to come across like I'm trying too hard, you know? ;)

I know what you mean. We live in Chicagoland, and we have access to so much great food, sometimes it's hard. We don't normally eat there, but I wanted to cross it off my list. You're picky about BBQ and Mexican in the same way I'm picky about hot dogs and pizza. Just....no. :rotfl2:

Yeah, we don't do the dining plan anymore either. I don't "limit" what I eat on vacation per se, because it's vacation. But I also don't eat like a fool. Like, if I want a treat, I want to pick that treat. I don't want you to force a dessert on me. Especially at CS locations.

Entrance F is our favorite since we don't even have to mess with Grand Avenue if we don't want to. Of course the biggest downfall with the mall layout is that the play area is fairly close to the Disney Store and they always want to stop and play for awhile. I'm having some serious roller coaster withdrawals, so I think a friend of mine and I are planning a Six Flags day within the next month - her dad works there so we might be able to get some discounted tickets or free parking.

I got a chance to catch up on most of the previous posts in this TR - I am loving Yeti!

I'm adding more and more places to eat to the list for my vague 'in the hopefully not too distant future' trip that I want to take lol. I'm not much of a drinker but I have to admit that that margarita looks so good. What amazing vinylmations! Emperors New Groove and Wreck it Ralph! They're two of the best Disney movies IMO and those ears are just the best!

I feel for your mom having to miss out on things being sick at Disney. I had that experience back in Jan. 2010 and it's so tough. Being sick at home is one thing - you maybe miss out on work, but that's not so bad. Missing out on new Disney dining, though - not cool (I missed our first visit to Le Cellier on that trip - I sent Dug to go on his own). Nice of your pop to get the soup and mac and cheese for your mom!

Yes, I too wish that I could ride Spaceship Earth before dinner every night. Or really any Disney attraction. Yes, that would be acceptable. :thumbsup2 Yikes on the SE pictures, though!

I don't know what it is about La Hacienda, but they always seem to have top-notch servers! I still remember we had Jonathan on our first visit in back in 2010 - he was just that good! We actually asked for him again on another visit, but he wasn't working - however, we had another fantastic server. Glad you had a great one too.

Yes, that is a good margarita! We like to get the margarita flight at La Hacienda. I'm not sure if they actually have it on the menu, but it's a nice way to try a variety of them! :thumbsup2

That is interesting you say that about the Queso Fundido. We got that back on our first visit (the restaurant was still pretty new) and it was AMAZING. Like we were both just raving about it and wanted to keep eating it forever and ever. So, we had high expectations on our other visits. We had it on our last trip and were kinda disappointed. We were both like, "This isn't as good as it used to be". :confused3 They must have changed something - and not for the better. But, like you, we ate it all anyway. :rotfl:

Oh, that's a bummer they don't take TiW anymore! :sad2: Didn't realize that.

Mmmmm, munching on those chips. Those were always delish too - hope they still are!

Love that avocado margarita!! Will probably have it this next trip...so good!

Mmmmm, school bread. You are really making me want a midnight snack (and a margarita) here! :rotfl2:

Funny about the margarita spill and the CM reactions! :rotfl:

Hi Danielle! A very belated welcome back to you!! I'm looking forward to hearing about your latest adventures after this TR is a wrap. Sounds like it was a great trip. It will be fun to read along and see what you were up to at the 24 hour party at WDW... I couldn't resist messaging you after 1am. I thought you'd still be partying 24 hour style.

You can say you remember when the Frozen Meet/Greet line was only 2 hours long!! :rotfl2: Those lines are crazy. Malestrom is always an exciting adventure - especially going back over the falls.

It's a bummer that La Hacienda doesn't accept TiW. I think they did for a period of time when they first opened since I have a photo of a receipt from our meal there in 2011. Anyway.... I think my server last time did me a favor by talking me out of the queso fundido. He said it was too cheesy. :lmao: I thought that was odd. Your combo platter looks really tasty! As does your margarita.

I'm not a fan of the avocado margarita either....and I like the frozen varieties. :)

I know what you mean. We live in Chicagoland, and we have access to so much great food, sometimes it's hard. We don't normally eat there, but I wanted to cross it off my list. You're picky about BBQ and Mexican in the same way I'm picky about hot dogs and pizza. Just....no. :rotfl2:

We're in Chicagoland and feel the same way about the restaurants. Our local butcher sells really good beef, especially filet mignon, so we don't usually eat that at a WDW restaurant. And then there is pizza - I think we have eaten pizza at WDW maybe three times in twenty years. We have a local - non-franchised pizza here that can't be beat.
:goodvibes

Bummer your mom wasn't feeling better!!

That share platter and margarita look amazing!

We often chose Epcot for dinner and several times I've thought, I wish I could ride SSE before any regular meal...
