That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

Continued from previous post:

Pop decided that he wanted some popcorn on the way out of the Magic Kingdom. Mom couldn't resist the super adorable popcorn bucket. Totally not functional, and will likely collect dust over time, but it's awesome!

We headed back to the resort for a little while after this. I look forward to my afternoon relaxing, because it gives me the ability to type notes for my trip reports, and at the same time I can rest my feet. I think that's a pretty good day.

We had a back and forth about what we were going to do for the evening. At first, we had planned on spending the evening in Epcot. However, I suggested to Mom and Dad going Downtown so we could see Splitsville. My Dad loves bowling, and I'm always up for trying something new in Disney. So, we decided to change the plans and head to DTD instead.

I got changed. Yes, I change mid-day. Don't judge me. It gives me the ability to rotate my Disney wardrobe.

My face is also weird in this picture. Oh well.

It was a beautiful evening, so we headed down to the boat dock. One of the nice things about staying at Saratoga Springs.

So we're waiting at the dock with another family. The Dad was standing by the fence by the water. Well, suddenly, my phone starts buzzing. I pull it out, and Mom texted me.

Yes, the Mom that was literally standing right next to me at this point. I pulled my phone out.

Mom: Did you hear him pass gas?!

Me: Who?

Mom: The one by the fence!!

Me: Um no. Hahahahahaha.

Mom: Haha for sure.

Yes, that is the gist of the conversation that we had via text message standing right next to each other. Apparently, the guy at the fence totally dropped a bomb, and my Mom busted him!

Of course, we started giggling like a bunch of fools, which made everyone on the dock look at us like we had lost our minds.

I say, if you're going to drop a bomb, own it man! :scared:

Soon, we were loading onto the boat and were on our way Downtown. No more gas incidents, thankfully.

Love it!

They have a new store called Fit 2 Run, which of course I wanted to stop in.

Now, I love running gear. Runners are weirdos. We love buying the stuff that we wear outside. The only problem I have with it is that it's expensive! Like, the legit stuff. I spend a decent amount of money on my shoes, but I can't justify spending the kind of money they charge in these places for everything else. It's cool, but I'll stick to Old Navy. However, anyone that wants to get me gifts, you know.....;)

Soon we arrived at our destination.

In case anyone is interested, here is the setup for Splitsville. You can dine only, or you can dine and bowl. If you dine and bowl, you get a lane and a server. It's $20 a person, and you can bowl as much as you want for an hour. Annual passholders get 20% off of bowling and 10% off of food. Mom said that she didn't want to bowl, so it was just Dad and I at that point. She had a bit of a headache, so she just wanted to watch.

The CM at the entrance (are they CM's? Well anyway...) was really awesome and he was asking my Mom questions about being a DVC member and was talking up the location. It seemed that he really liked his job.

This is the lower level area by the entrance.

We were lead upstairs. I was like "there are bowling lanes upstairs?!" Apparently I'm an idiot. Hahaha.

Oh, the bowling balls? They have Mickey's on them by the way. I should have taken a picture, but I totally forgot. Fail.

Pop was super serious.

He's a legit bowler. He's a little bit out of practice, but he was a great bowler back in the day. Belonged to a league and could even score a 312 with his handicap. I on the other hand. I enjoy bowling a lot. I'm just not good. And for someone like me that's competitive....well, I just have to accept that I'm not good. Haha!

They had a large variety of food. If you're ever unsure where to eat in Disney (admit it, you know it's happened to you before), they have a large selection. And we were very impressed with it.

They had sushi, which of course, I ordered.

We also ordered some sliders.

And Mom ordered a teriyaki bowl.

We bowled next to a family of four with two little boys. They were not paying attention to these kids at all. I'm not exaggerating, they were almost getting their thumbs jammed by the balls, almost hit in the face because they kept sticking their head near the ball return. Just a hot mess.

The whole time, the parents are just sitting there, eating and chatting with each other, not paying attention. The kids would run up near my lane and would totally make me boof my frame. I was not happy. I mean, come on. This is a fun environment, but that doesn't mean that bowling etiquette goes completely out of the window.

Rant over.

Overall though? Splitsville was a HUGE success for us.

Food: 4/5
Atmosphere: 5/5 Tons of fun!

It's definitely the kind of place that would be fun with a group of people.

Mom sadly was starting to feel worse and worse as she sat there. She told me that she felt a cold was coming on.

I wanted to get her out of there as soon as we could, because we were heading to the dark side the next day. However, we wanted to stop at D-Street first to get some vinyls.

Spoiler alert: They didn't have any Frozen vinyls left.

What I did get?

Gummie Bear vinyls!

Mom got Jacques and Gus Gus.

I could not resist this one.

Mom wanted the new DVC.

And Huey, Dewey, and Louie!

In addition, I got a mystery Vinyl.

I was pretty happy with my finds, I have to say. I was hoping for Frozen vinyls, but you know. What can you do?

Overall, it was a great end to a great day. I felt horrible that Mom wasn't feeling well at that point, and I wanted to get some rest. We got back to the resort and Dad and I grabbed mugs and headed to Artist Palette. I filled Mom's mug with hot tea, and picked her up some Nyquil and daytime decongestant. I wanted to try to head this cold off before it got worse.

Up next: I'm a WIZARD!

:woohoo::woohoo: My trip report is complete and I've been searching the boards for someone to update. And my friend Danielle does not disappoint. :thumbsup2

I didn't care for the Foo Boo myself, but it was opening night so maybe they've improved it...I'll have to try it again.

I can never get good pictures on Peter Pan either.

Mickey's Philharmagic is always a good bet. And I love Donald's butt! ;)

I love the photopass pics with your drinks in your hand. What was Dad drinking?

I bought Mark that Dumbo popcorn holder. And, yes, it has become a desk collector on his dresser.

Sorry Mom wasn't feeling very well and didn't feel like bowling. What is with parents NOT watching their kids. I'm an adult and have gotten my finger pinched between balls and it hurts! We visited Splitsville last August, but didn't bowl. Thanks for the info on the price if you bowl; Mark and I have put that on our list if we get a rainy day in September.

I hope the meds helped mom feel better for your going to the other side.

We rode Peter Pan recently simply because of FP+. It's a classic, I love it!

Yaay for Jacques and Gus Gus! They're just so lovable and cute.

The sushi at Splittsville looks tasty!

I might have said something to those kids, if they were throwing off my game! Seriously, I never let my kids behave like that and it irks me when parents are so irresponsible!

I hope your Nyquil run was beneficial to your mom! Sick at Disney is no fun!

Great updates! Looks like a good time at MK. The little hoedown took me by surprise too. Love how your pants glow on Peter Pan. :rotfl:

I think this is the first write-up I've seen of Splitsville in a TR. Looks pretty cool. Thanks for all the info and pictures. :goodvibes

Cool update on Splitsville. :thumbsup2

I probably would never have ventured there if you hadn't reported on it.

So sorry mom isn't feeling well, I sure hope it didn't ruin the rest of the trip for her. :worried:

You look great in your wardrobe change. :lovestruc

I just love Gaston's Tavern! It looks exactly like the movie!

I was surprised with how much I liked Foo's Boo! I thought it might be too sweet but I shared one with my mom and I really liked it!

I agree with the cost of running clothes! That's one of the reasons I love doing the Disney runs and going to their Expos! I found an awesome running jacket at the one in November and it was on sale :cool1:

I really want to try out Splitsville during my DCP! I am not a bowler at all but it looks like so much fun!

Awesome vinyl finds!!

Can't wait to see Harry Potter World! I am so excited to check it out in August!

We used a fp+ for Peter Pan, too. I think that ride has the longest standby line in the MK. Back in the old days when Disney used paper park tickets, they used to stamp your hands with a glow in the dark stamp if you wanted to reenter the park later in the day. It was always fun to see what stamp they used that day, and the Peter Pan ride was one of them that showed the stamp. Ah, the memories. ;)

Your trip to DTD looked like fun. It is nice that they have a boat from your resort. The regular resort buses are horrible. :crazy2: I like to look at running clothes, too. The nice thing about the more expensive ones is that they last a long time. I have several pairs of running pants that I've worn since 1998. But the shirts tend to need replacing often. Those I don't mind buying at the discount stores.

Splitsville looks like a lot of fun. I used to bowl in a league when I was an "at home" mom. It would be fun to take a break from the parks and head over to DTD for some bowling, especially when you've been to WDW many times. It is fun to find new things to do. :goodvibes

Duck butt is great if we're talking about Donald. Then again, everything about Donald is awesome. I think he makes Philarmagic extra fun to watch. :thumbsup2

That foam on "foo's boo" isn't the best, I have to agree with you there. I just don't think the two flavors mix well. :confused3

I just figured everyone swapped outfits during their afternoon breaks...You own so many Disney tops you want to wear as many as possible. Not to mention, FL is hot and you can stink pretty good by noon. :rotfl2:

I have not read a TR update with Splitsville in it yet. (Although, I'll admit, I don't read a ton, but that's not important.) So it was really cool to read about that part of your night. I haven't even seen a lot of pictures of the interior of the food they serve. I like that they have a Dine and Play option and that your meal is delivered right to your lane.

Your dad sounds like mine when it comes to bowling. Super good, former league players. They wear such concentrated faces when they stand on the lane to begin their turn. :rotfl:

I'm sorry your Mom wasn't feeling well, it looked like you had fun bowling though :)

I've never seen the Ho-Down! Does it happen at certain times of the day?

We also have a FP+ for Peter Pan right now! I'm not sure I will keep it as I am hoping the Mine Train is open!!

I've told my husband we are either going bowling or to see a movie in DTD on our first day... I figure we went bowling on our honeymoon why not on our 10year anniversary trip.

So sorry your mom wasn't feeling good! I hope the cold got the news and took a hike!

I SEE BIG ALLLLLLLL!!!!!!! :lovestruc But wait, what do you mean dressing up as Big Al???? He's real to me!!

I don't even think Disney advertises the hoedown, which so odd. I could be wrong though.

Just for the record Dani, having a PP photo in front of the castle WITH the Brew is TOTALLY a perfect picture.

O...M...G... Best text conversation EVER. :rotfl2:

I royally suck at bowling (but I guess royally sucking isn't all bad since you know, "royal". If you're gonna suck, do it royally is what I'm saying). That said, I really do want to visit Splitsville if for no other reason than Disney bowling.

:woohoo::woohoo: My trip report is complete and I've been searching the boards for someone to update. And my friend Danielle does not disappoint. :thumbsup2

Yay! I'm glad that I updated when you wanted to read. :goodvibes

I have to admit, LeFou's Brew isn't for everyone. It can definitely be sweet. I would recommend asking they leave off the passion fruit foam. Pop was drinking.....something super exciting.....COFFEE! :lmao:

I figured Mark had that bucket! Of course it's collecting dust right? :rotfl:

I felt so bad that Mom wasn't feeling well. Unfortunately, this wasn't the end of it. :(

We rode Peter Pan recently simply because of FP+. It's a classic, I love it!

Yaay for Jacques and Gus Gus! They're just so lovable and cute.

I hope your Nyquil run was beneficial to your mom! Sick at Disney is no fun!

It makes it so much easier with FP+!

Jacques and Gus Gus were my favorite characters growing up. They were just so hysterical. I watched it recently and forgot how funny they are.

Parents not watching kids is one of my biggest irritations, and unfortunately it's happening so much now!

:goodvibes

Ever since they opened Splitsville, my Dad wanted to check it out. We even have it on the agenda for our May trip. I love the variety.

Cool update on Splitsville. :thumbsup2

So sorry mom isn't feeling well, I sure hope it didn't ruin the rest of the trip for her. :worried:

Splitsville can definitely be a pass you would pass by and give no thought to. I just love finding things within Disney that you can do that aren't park related. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the parks. But there is so much more!

Sadly, Mom's not feeling well did put a damper on some of her trip later on.

Awesome vinyl finds!!

Can't wait to see Harry Potter World! I am so excited to check it out in August!

I know! I have an image of Gaston just chilling in that chair with his legs flung over the side.

I was surprised I liked it too. I really loved the Boysenapple freeze in Disneyland, and I wasn't sure how I would feel about LeFou's Brew. But I liked it. I may have gotten it again on the trip. :rolleyes1

Oooohhh, running clothes on sale! That's my favorite thing ever!

The environment of Splitsville is tons of fun. You don't have to be a major bowler to enjoy it, unlike some alleys that have leagues and you feel a bit of pressure. It's just a place to have a good time.

We're going back to Universal in May (simply because we have Annuals) and in November, because I can't wait so see the expansion.

Ah, the memories. ;)

Hahaha! That totally made me think of a random stamp story. Back in the day, when they had stamps and we would ride Peter Pan, my brother Jason would rub it ALL over his face and then we would crack up about his glowing face.

I love the face that there's a boat from Saratoga to DTD. It's such a nice change of pace from everything.

I do agree, the more expensive ones will definitely last longer. I feel like I'm constantly washing the same things over and over again, and it's better that they hold up from the washes.

Splitsville looks like a lot of fun. I used to bowl in a league when I was an "at home" mom. It would be fun to take a break from the parks and head over to DTD for some bowling, especially when you've been to WDW many times. It is fun to find new things to do. :goodvibes

It is a lot of fun to take a break from the parks. I think it's a good idea too for those people who have family members that don't love Disney as much.

Duck butt is great if we're talking about Donald. Then again, everything about Donald is awesome. I think he makes Philarmagic extra fun to watch. :thumbsup2

Could not agree more that anything about Donald is just awesome. I mean, he's not my favorite character for no reason. ;)

Yeah, I assume everyone changes midday too, but for those that don't, I like them to be aware of why I'm constantly wearing something different in my pictures. LOL.

I really liked the fact that they delivery right to the table at your lane. The only thing that's hard is the bowling and eating component. But we got used to it.

He's totally serious when he bowls. And his quirks crack me up. Little hops he does when he shoots the ball, the fact that it pops his thumb..... :lmao:

I'm sorry your Mom wasn't feeling well, it looked like you had fun bowling though :)

We did have a lot of fun bowling. We would definitely do it again.

I've never seen the Ho-Down! Does it happen at certain times of the day?

We also have a FP+ for Peter Pan right now! I'm not sure I will keep it as I am hoping the Mine Train is open!!

To my knowledge, the ho-down actually isn't advertised. You just kind of stumble across it.

I'm keeping my eyes open for the Mine Train too. I'm not sure they're going to have FP when I'm there though. It will likely be in soft opening.

Bowling is a great idea! It was a lot of fun.

I SEE BIG ALLLLLLLL!!!!!!! :lovestruc But wait, what do you mean dressing up as Big Al???? He's real to me!!

Oh, I mean, "man...it would be awesome to BE Big Al....."

I thought it was a perfect picture. I mean, I was in the moment, I didn't want my Foo's Boo to fall over. It was all good.

Yeah, that text conversation was hysterical. You can't take us anywhere honestly.

I completely agree! If you're going to suck...do it royally man!

I figured it was best to text you..... he was standing right next to me so I couldn't tell you :rotfl2::rotfl2:I know that people thought we were insane we were laughing so hard.

Trying to catch up on all my threads and it's not working , but here I am and will try to keep up from now on!!Can't believe will be in Disney in 34 days !!!!!!!

I got changed. Yes, I change mid-day. Don't judge me. It gives me the ability to rotate my Disney wardrobe.

!

This is a cute picture of you. I love it. I love the red hair, although I'm sorry it no longer glows in the dark. :rotfl2: Bummer!

Thanks for the great review on Splitsville. You definitely need to go back to get that picture of Mickey on the bowling ball. The food looks yummy!

Ugh - how annoying about those kids next to you. that would have annoyed me to because I really have to concentrate to bowl.

Sorry your mom was starting to feel sick.

I REALLY have to find that hoedown on my next trip. Brer Rabbit is one of my favorites and I've only ever run into him at the Jammin' Jungle Parade (RIP).

:rotfl: at the Foo's Boo reveal. My dad calls it "LeBouf's Frew." I think they'd get along quite well.

I love the Dumbo popcorn bucket! Excellent choice :thumbsup2

Splitsville looks awesome! I hope to get over there sometime soon. From what I've seen the food and drinks look awesome.

Oh noooo :( your poor mom!

I LOVE the Abu vinyl!

As much as you may deny it, you took some good photos on Peter Pan's Flight - especially the moon! :thumbsup2 Oh, and your Ariel leggings photograph nicely in the dark. Hey, if I was a blonde my hair would glow in the black lighting?? Perhaps blondes do have more fun.

Foo's Brew! Still so funny! But maybe not as funny as that text conversation with your mom at the boat dock. :rotfl2:

I prefer to buy my running duds at my local sports shop myself since they have a great selection of running skorts. However, it is noted for future gift ideas for you Fit2Run.

Now you've done it! Throwing in a night of Splittsville at DTD sounds like a ton of fun. Now I want to do that but how will I ever fit it in without ditching something in the 'plan'.... good thing my hubby is flexible. I took a peek at the menu and they have a lot of choices!! What a great way to spend the evening. Other than those marauding kids the were unsupervised.

Sorry your mom ended the evening not feeling well.

Aww, thanks. I love that shirt. I lucked out finding it at Target. I'm sad that my hair doesn't glow in the dark anymore too. It's the little things in life you know.

I have to remember to get a picture of the Mickey on the bowling ball. We are planning to go back in May, so I'll make sure it's on my list. The food was really good.

Honestly, I just wanted to be that person that walks up to the parents and asks them what their deal is.

Just hang out in the area for a while and see what happens! You'll stumble across the ho-down at some point, I'm sure.

LeBouf's Frew. I like that!

Splitsville is a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend it to other people. It's a great way to change up your Disney trip.

Sorry your mom ended the evening not feeling well.

The thing that gets me on Peter Pan is just the motion. Because I don't have a fancy camera and can't change shutter speed. But, that doesn't mean I'm going to get a fancy camera just to do that. :rotfl2:

Nah, blondes just think they have more fun. :thumbsup2

I know, the "plan" is always difficult with that stuff, right? You want to do something else, but it means changing up the plan. This time around, I changed the plan to include it. However, with the way I am, sometimes that might change.
