That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Oh have fun at the beach - that sounds like fun. I too am traveling for business right before the cruise. Normally my suitcase is starting to fill up. this time it is a list and a storage crate filled with things. I need more suitcases.

I feel for you -- I had put all of my summer gear in my suitcase when I did my seasonal wardrobe change. Now I have to empty the suitcase so I can bring for my trip!

I just had a close call. I realized that the 'character breakfast' always falls on an 'at sea' day, or key west day, depending on your dining rotation. Since we made a Palo reservation on Key West morning, I was suddenly concerned we requested the rotation that begins with Animators Palate -which supposedly is the one rotation that puts you in the character breakfast on Key West day. Granted, we could eat breakfast multiple times as long as the character one was early enough! Also the CB is more about the experience and less about the food. But still...

But I had requested the rotation that starts at Parrot Cay. Now I only hope we actually get what we requested. Anyone else first seating at Parrot Cay? (Still considering changing to second seating - we have never done first seating before since our kids are 'older' and can eat later but we may try it this time.)

I requested the dining rotation that starts in Parrot Cay also- we have first seating. My dh and I had late seating on a cruise before and it was awful for us. The early seating is earlier than we typically eat at home- but we didn't want to be finishing up dinner close to 10.

Are character breakfasts only on sea days? Also will we have an early time for the CB, if we have first seating? I booked Palo brunch for dh and I on the last sea day thinking it would give my dd time to warm up to the kids club (hopefully), but I wonder if that will be the day of our CB!

And I think, from what I wrote down from the post by the person who posted the December WC navigators, that this rotation does have the CB on the last sea day (I also made one of those day by day spreadsheets - spontaneity is overrated! ). But since you have early seating you should have plenty of time to go to the CB first for pictures and coffee and then make it your Palo brunch.

Anyone see the Fantasy come into NY Harbor this morning? Saw it on FB so I logged into the webcam.... She's still there, "parked" right in the middle of the river..... So beautiful!!!! Makes me excited to sail the Dream in May, but still love the Magic..... I think she's the "perfect" size, and that's coming from my very limited cruising experience. Yes, I've been on ONE cruise! lol

Just booked our "night before cruise" hotel last night. Creatures of habit that we are, we are headed back to th Residence Inn. However most rooms already sold out at that hotel and we were forced to get 2 room suite for over $200.


We are contemplating the Radisson. Has anyone that has stayed at both places have a comment? We could save a lot of money by going to Radisson

We stayed at the Radisson last year - it was fine. It's actually a nice resort, with beautifully themed pool, full service restaurant, etc. Make sure you book yourself on the shuttle though as it's a HUGE resort and very crowded for shuttle service.

This year we booked Country Inn and Suites because it's smaller than the Radisson. And we will arrive around midnight before we cruise, so we don't need the amenities.... Just a bed and bath.....

We did the same. We had late dinner last time and felt like we were just too stuffed and tired to do anything after dinner. We were in bed by 10:00 most nights. I think eating early will allow us to have more fun at night!

We have always done late seating since our first cruise! We were booked for 2nd seating but since Dylan was only 4 I thought it best we go with an earlier seating but we ended up feeling too rushed in order to make the early seating. I would have to pull Dylan from the pool, or club in order to get ready for dinner. I enjoy being able to sit, relax, and read in the late afternoon. And I of course, I have reached that age where I don't sleep well at night so staying up is no problem!

I did not know you could request where your rotation starts. hmmm. that would be neat. I am guessing it is too late now.

With all the rain here today it is dark and dreary but the cruise CD does help. That was one of the best FE gifts we ever got.

There's no Palo brunch or tea left of course but I'm ok with that. We got Palo for the first night and will book a spa service and then I'm just going to enjoy the sunshine and a lunge chair or the verandah!

We are in room 6136 and paid a FORTUNE for it almost triple what we paid for the dream in August but then again it's spring break and it's last minute booking. Oh well!

This is our 4th Disney Cruise! I LOVE THEM!We are going to Alaska with Disney in August which has been in the works for many months.

This cruise is a sanity keeper! LOL

This cruise is sanity keeper for us to! Especially the DH.
We'll have our 2 DDs with us (15 & 11). We have late seating too because we booked this in mid Jan to use up DVC points.
We have a B2B Dream cruise this summer with only the DH and me! Need that one too!

I so need to get busy! I am being such a slacker!!!!
Still need to make magnets, put the FEs together and start gathering things need for the cruise.
Luckily, I have learned if we forget anything little it is sold on the ship. With 4 DD girls at one time sailing with us, we have had to buy a lot of toothbrushes and other misc items. It's nice they sell some of the things in the shops.

Only 28 days until the MAGIC!
