Thank you for the post. Yes, I'm interested as well.

you probably won't see much of the park tonight, but if you search on youtube there are plenty of videos of the park itself.
Their nighttime spectacular is amazing
Pirates looks very, very cool along with the Tron ride
If you have time I recommend this video, it's an hour and a half but it gives you a pretty good view of the entire park, plus I love how the dad filmed almost all of it from the kids perspective

Wow thats great! Thanks I will have to watch it tomorrow during my sons nap time, lol

So, did anyone watch the 30 minutes show on Disney tonight?? I love the style of the castle... very Shanghai indeed.
Surprised to see Mickey's blink-able eyes and moving mouth... Is that new??

The castle looks great and the few shots of the park that they did show looked pretty awesome too. The idea of a concert as the opening ceremonies was good but we did not need that stupid girl giving the play-by-play. SO ANNOYING. Also Lang Lang rules - I have the score to The Painted Veil and I am a big fan.

I thought it was good but I agree with PP in we did not really need the play by play...I think we all got the jist of it without that, lol. I was also hoping that they would show more of the park and not just a concert, but I did think the concert was pretty awesome and the guy on the piano playing "Let It Go" was AMAZINGLY MIND BLOWING! That was my favorite part of the ceremony, lol. The Castle is gorgeous and I loved the projections that they displayed on it...but hey its Disney so I wouldn't expect anything less than perfect from them, lol.

For some reason I don't want to see the park itself because it would make our Disneyland and WDW look old...... I just hope the new lands that WDW is building would be as astonishing as the Shanghai Disneyland.

Also about that girl.... yes, she was annoying

Sofia Carson left nothing to the imagination, why did she have to do a play by play.
I watched both this ceremony and the daytime with the characters on the disney youtube page, no narration there.
Also those looking for videos of the park look on YouTube, they have been having soft openings since early may. Or watch the one I linked above

do you have a link to the character one? I can't find it on youtube

Many times Mickey performs that way at WDW and DLR.
These have been around for 5-8 years, or so.

Many of the "shows" (and specific meets) have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and a few others who blink and have moving mouths.

You can go to YouTube and find many videos from WDW that feature these effects.

We missed the special tonight! But only because neighbors came over finally excited to talk about an upcoming trip to the World together, so at least it was for good reason. I spotted an article earlier tonight (cannot remember where, sorry) saying this will repeat sometime tomorrow on Freeform. Did anyone else see that and what time?

I'm watching it now on the DVR and want to hit delete already. The narration by Sofia is annoying. Just introduce the show, say we will return after this commercial break and "now we return". Don't need to tell me the castle has wood on it and is totally decked out with jewels on it

just watched this video. Its Disney, but it is NOT Disneyland nor Walt Disney World. the feeling is like eating a Big Mac in China... Something is different. Frozen Sing-along in Chinese.... kinda "Different". this is my first time hearing all songs from Frozen in Chinese. Though I understand all of it, I still prefer the original version in English. CMs who played the role of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff are not Chinese and carry a accent when speaking the dialogue. Hard for me to get used to hearing all these familiar Disney characters speaking in Chinese. its not that I dont understand it. I do understand and thats what makes it hard for me to like it. While watching the show, I kept telling myself "this is NOT Walt's Disney. This is Bob Iger's version of Disney with touch of Asian fushion."

Well Bob Iger did say "it's authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese" he also said "we're not building disneyland in China we're building China's Disneyland"
I'm glad it's not a carbon copy of any of the other parks and has the culture of the country they build it in in mind.
I can speak to how y the songs translate to Chinese or mandarin but in happy is not all in English.
It looks amazing and beautiful to me
