What's on your menu? I'm looking for one more side dish. We just added two more people to our table, making it a total of 6. I need side dish inspiration!

Here is my menu:

Appetizers:
Spinach Artichoke dip with chips and baguette for dipping
Veggie tray

Main meal:
Turkey
Carver Ham
Cornbread dressing
Sweet potato casserole
Large green salad with the works
Cranberry sauce
Gravy
Yeast rolls

Dessert:
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie

I would add an Orange Cranberry sauce/relish as another side. We’re going takeout for the first time ever and preordered

2 Racks of Ribs
1 Whole BBQ Chicken
1lb Brisket
Wilbur Beans
Firecracker Green Beans
Jalapeño Mac n Cheese
Potato Salad
Cornbread Muffins

Dessert:
I’m making a Low Sugar/Carb No Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake

Wow! That all sounds delicious.

Thanks for the cranberry reminder. I totally forgot.

Probably not going to do anything special. But if I could I'd just spend it where someone else is doing the cooking. Like the Thanksgiving Day we spent in Vegas and had dinner at the Wicked Spoon Buffet at the Cosmopolitan. I'm not really a big eater, but when one spends a bunch for all you can eat and the food is that good, that changes everything. You know - deal with the consequences later.

Sautéed green beans with garlic or shallots? Roasted Brussels sprouts?

At my house……

DH makes the Turkey & gravy
My mom brings stuffing
My MIL brings the mashed potatoes
I make the corn pudding, sweet potatoes and green bean casserole
I will make the rolls
MIL brings a pumpkin pie
My mom brings a chocolate cream pie & cookies
I will make a pumpkin bundt cake

It’s just going to be my husband and I this year so I’m keeping it simple. Turkey breast, gravy, dressing, green beans, cranberry jelly, rolls. Pumpkin pie for dessert.

My sides are:
  1. Green bean casserole
  2. Roasted root vegetables with sweet potatoes ( roasted with spicy olive oil)
  3. Spicy corn casserole
  4. Pretzel bread Stuffing with walnuts, cranberries, apples

Turkey breast
Mashed potatoes
Wild rice and sweet potato stuffing
Roasted Brussel sprouts
Cranberry sauce

We tend to go with the K.I.S.S. approach:
Turkey
Ham (not everyone in the family likes turkey)
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Stuffing
Green bean casserole
Corn
Cranberry sauce
Rolls

Inevitably there's a conflict over cranberry sauce (I'm awaiting a slo poll on cranberry sauce any day), whether it's good or bad but we always have it. Recently cheesy potatoes have also been added. We, and by we I mean I and one or two others supporting me, also require the stuffing be cooked in the bird.

I actually wouldn’t add another side-id add like a cheese platter for appetizer and another dessert. Or at the very least have ice cream for the pies but so that people can have that as well. I hate pie but my mom and aunt always make a plethora of desserts anyway (besides pie we have jello, rice pudding and something else like cookies)

We're having all the usual suspects, but I'm bringing roasted brussels sprouts with a balsamic glaze. My sister is also mashing a few turnips just for me because I'm the only one who eats them.

Can you share your pretzel bread stuffing recipe? That sounds wonderful.

I always have ice cream in the house... for me! So we're covered there. Might order a fancy cookie tray. My neighbor owns a bakery.

Cheesy potato recipe?
